What i meant in regards to the abandoned requirements was a bit of leeway so information from other sources can be used to show a game is still being worked and an extension in the timeframe it takes without communication to be classed as abandoned. Hopes isn't the best at communicating with his followers at the best of times which they themselves admit they need to work on however they do pop in on patreon or their discord server every so often to let people know what's going on with the games development. I mean sometimes the tag works as some devs will be notified and will post an update to get it removed but like in this case all the tag does is create spam posts on threads and pass out disinformation
Again nah.

It got the abandonment tag because he wasnt communicating anywhere for 3+ months including his patreon and discord. He just vanished, so the tag is fine and adequate.

Its not like its such a big deal, he just has to publish a update :HideThePain:

Wrong. His last post on Patreon was on November 15. You can go and check it for yourself.
Why are you posting about smth you have no clue about?

Here, to make it easier:

...

Yeah and the abandonment tag was given before the 15. november, and before that he was 3+ months vanished on all socials. Now it will only be lifted after he published a update.

Why are you posting about smth you have no clue about?
You can read all of this in this very thread, afterwards you maybe got some clues why it got the tag and how the rules work.

Youre welcome.

Didn't the deadline for the abandonment tag to be slapped on the thread happen before November 15th?
In that case the tag came before the post and for it to disappear it's not enough to show a sign of life any more. He has to publish another update for the tag to be removed again.
Unless the rules have changed again, this was the "protocol" of the tagging procedures around here last time I checked.

You're making the same mistake I initially made.

The prefix appeared before the 15 November post, not after. The three months of inactivity in this case refers to a stretch from about May to November. Once the prefix is there, it stays until there is an update, even if the dev chirps up again on his accounts.

Don't feel bad. I also just recently noticed the Abandoned prefix, and incorrectly assumed it was new.

you know i think sometimes people forget that the developers of these games are human beings too who have their own lives to lead and other stuff they have to do along side making games or family they need to support i mean didn't the dev get married then move house after which he started backup working on the game. The amount of time this game has got the abandoned tag on this site is funny at this point think the abandoned tag requirements need some updating and working on to be honest Though i think some people often forget the devs aren't robots who are supposed to be slaving away to create these games for your enjoyment a large portion of the developers of these games do this as a hobby along side their real life responsibilities and jobs
he is doing this full time. what do you think would happened if you didn't turn up to your job for 3 months or not show any signs of life to your boss? you are here defending him for free when he couldn't even bother to utter a single word to his patreons (people who pay his bills) for over 3 months and he conveniently did only few days after the abandoned tag popped up.

Hopes isn't running a charity. These people aren't donating they are supporting. They didn't give money without expecting something back. They are supporting him because they like the game and wanted him to be able to work on the game full time. Which he is supposed to be doing. The success of the game allowed him to leave his job and work on the game. I highly doubt they supported this project so he could fuck off and not say a word.

I don't know Hopes, but when he's been on here he has seemed like a decent guy and willing to interact with his fan base, even the pirates. So I give him more benefit of the doubt than I would most developers. However this mess is entirely on him. It's not difficult to take 5 minutes in 3 months to make a post on patreon, discord, F95 or anywhere else to give those that are supporting you and the fans a heads up on what's going on with the game.

Also people say that the devs can keep charging without giving anything back because you can cancel the subscription anytime...
I never supported this game specifically, but I have other subscription-based services, and sometimes I don't even use/want the service anymore, but forget to cancel it. Once I paid for half a year of Gamepass without using it once...
I'm sure there are people who are also like this, so I think devs that keep pages open when they're clearly not working on the products are kinda scammy.

Supporting is donating. You get what is released. This is a piracy site, which some devs are cool with and others are not. I am here too, so I am not inherently criticizing it. But get real. Maybe if something was promised for the donations and not delivered, complain on Patreon if you're a supporter, or just stop supporting. Complaining here is just idiotic.

"Oh, no! I can't illegally download this now when I want it! That dev is a rip off! I don't care what's going on with his life, I just want what I want, when I want it."

That's what it all sounds like to me. I love this freaking game, too. I want to play this desperately. I want things fixed. I want to know what happens next. Even with as little sex as there is, this game is one of the best AVNs I've ever played. Most are just amusing crap, and I'm okay with that. This is so much better, and yeah, I want more. I am sure Hopes wants to do more. Maybe we won't get more, maybe we will. Pissing and moaning and throwing tantrums doesn't help with that.

To be fair, that's merely you being forgetful. You can't claim to have been scammed, just because you forgot to cancel your support.
I'm sorry to say, but if you choose to continue paying towards a product that you don't want or use, that's entirely on you.
Only one person is accountable & responsible for your own actions & choices & that's you.

It's only fair to consider it a scam if you were duped into continuing, with false promises.

Well, in my country it's actually against the consumers protection code to bill stuff without you accepting it, because they state that your inertia of not canceling is not the same as you agreeing to something, so it would be considered scammy here.
The whole point is that I didn't choose it, I merely forgot about it, it is way different.
And I'm sure is not just me. Lots of people probably probably forgets that stuff, even more so if they support multiple different projects.
Not necessarily about this dev, but if someone makes some page asking for donations to help him make a game but he almost don't work on it because they expect people to keep sending money either way, it is scammy, regardless if people choose to send the money on their own volition.

Just because something isn't outright illegal or a proper scam scheme, doesn't mean it isn't scammy behaviour.
