OoOOoooh an abandoned tag... finally,since the dev is not intending to finish the game ever. Sometime ago people lost their minds if you saif anything against Hopes and insinuated that he is a big milker. Now we all see that the game is on it's last leg(if not completely dead already). It's a big shame really because this game could have been amazing. The dev has skill and is a good writer and it sucks that the talent is wasted by his laziness. And a moment of silence for the peoplw that supported him on patreon and got nothing in return

To each their own, but Hopes is at best, an OKAY writer and a I've average world builder. His dialogue is so clunky and forced it's PAINFUL to read.

Yeah, I'm a bit puzzled as to why the game has been prefixed "Abandoned" rather than "On Hold".

Because On Hold have to be requested by the developer, what he didn't do, and Abandoned is added after three months of no updates.
Where are you getting this?
Nothing in the Uploader rules say the developer has to *request* the On Hold prefix; they only mention that they make a "clear public statement", which this dev has, on his Patreon, dated 15 November.
And the three month rule refers to inactivity on the dev's public accounts (such as Patreon), not time since last update. Since the dev posted on 15 November, this rule doesn't apply yet, either.

First Hopes didn't posted any shit between 29th of May and 15th of November (or 22th of July for his latest Discord post). According to the rules that get him Abandoned without further discussion. (Sure, exception possible...)
Second, after the Abandoned prefix is given only a game update can lift it.
Therefore, to avoid the Abandoned prefix on the zone, he would had to do either post something between 22th of July and 22th of November or "request" the on hold prefix.
And even with on hold the game should get an update in less than 6 month and, brutally, the update cycle of the game is going for a cycle of more than 6 month (plain and simple statistic) and the last update needed 9 month. So, he would get the abadonded prefix either way, even if he was given the on hold prefix, as he would needed to post a game update (if it was on on hold prefix) before 22th of February 25. And that would suprise me very much.

But I've seen even staff on this site saying it's like this on other threads, so I'm sure it's true.
As for the Abandoned tag, I know it isn't about game updates. He went three months without any progress update and then on November 10th the game received this tag.
The update from November 15th doesn't matter in this case, since it was after the tag was added, so it will only be removed on next game release.

Yeah, he probably made the pronouncement because of the change in status, as to show people he is still working on it despite the Abandoned tag.
But after the tag is added, only a new release will make it go away, as that are the site rules...

You are correct sir. Except you forgot it’s 18 months with no update to get an abandoned tag no matter how often you communicate. The way games are being developed anymore I expect we will see more of the 18 months abandoned tags. Personally I think it should only be a year but I don’t make the rules.
To voice my thoughts? I thought that was obvious.
Is it really so horrible to be less than perfect. I did point out what I thought was good about the game (the worldbuilding), along with one of the things that is subpar.
In my memory, this game is dead for at least 3-4 years. Latest update were minor changes and bullshit rework. The develop dont give a shit about the game for a very long time. Man up guys, there lots of other decent novels.

Nop, if it has the on hold prefix. Then it is 6 months, strange but true.
So, if you're a lazy dev, don't ask for on hold, just post all two month a post with something game relevant and something saying your still working on and you can have your 1.5 year update cycle without the "bad" abadonded prefix at all.
If you ask for on hold, you need to deliever 6 month later.
