31th of February.when is the update ?
Ah yes, right after the 30th of February! Got it, thanks31th of February.
It truly amazes me how people can claim that they didn't notice that their money was going somewhere for any amount of time. Y'all must have money to burn, if you don't remember where you're spending it. I gotta keep my bank-book down to the last purchase every payday. If I didn't notice money siphoning off, I'd be in the red faster than you can say Quiddich. I agree with whatone. Even if your country has laws against scammy stuff. If you don't realize where your money is going, that's all on you.Well, in my country it's actually against the consumers protection code to bill stuff without you accepting it, because they state that your inertia of not canceling is not the same as you agreeing to something, so it would be considered scammy here.
The whole point is that I didn't choose it, I merely forgot about it, it is way different.
And I'm sure is not just me. Lots of people probably probably forgets that stuff, even more so if they support multiple different projects.
Not necessarily about this dev, but if someone makes some page asking for donations to help him make a game but he almost don't work on it because they expect people to keep sending money either way, it is scammy, regardless if people choose to send the money on their own volition.
Just because something isn't outright illegal or a proper scam scheme, doesn't mean it isn't scammy behaviour.
You seem to be confusing a Patron with a customer. Main difference, a patron is not purchasing a product, they are choosing to pay to support an artist.Well, in my country it's actually against the consumers protection code to bill stuff without you accepting it, because they state that your inertia of not canceling is not the same as you agreeing to something, so it would be considered scammy here.

But but but... in this modern age, nobody needs to take responsibility for their own action (or in this case inaction). Moms have been teaching us that we are each precious and perfect! It's always someone else's fault! </sarcasm>You seem to be confusing a Patron with a customer. Main difference, a patron is not purchasing a product, they are choosing to pay to support an artist.
There is no contractual agreement for a product to be delivered for the money a patron chooses to pay.
Whereas a customer does have said contractual agreement.
As we are talking about patrons, not customers, consumer law is utterly irrelevant here.
Whatever laws exist in your country, they still do not classify you forgetting what you're doing with your own money as you being scammed. It's entirely on you that you continued paying a monthly fee for something you had no use or want for.
So it's indisputably your own fault that any money continued to go out from your bank account, no-one else's.
You have not been scammed by anyone. You simply forgot to cancel and therefore were obligated to pay.
As I said in my previous post: Only one person is accountable & responsible for your own actions & choices & that's you.
To claim you've been scammed simply because you forgot (chose by negligence) to cancel your payment would be ridiculously & laughably irresponsible.
You did accept it, you accepted when you entered into a reoccurring subscription contract.Well, in my country it's actually against the consumers protection code to bill stuff without you accepting it...
It's sorry that your country coddles you like a child instead of treating you like an adult capable of honouring your contracts....because they state that your inertia of not canceling is not the same as you agreeing to something, so it would be considered scammy here.

There are plenty of forgetful and inattentive people in the world. It's better that they learn how to wipe their chins and bottoms instead of requiring Big Mommy Government to do it for them. And I'm sure is not just me. Lots of people probably probably forgets that stuff, even more so if they support multiple different projects.
Why would you remain backing such a project? You should learn to pay attention to what you're doing. Not necessarily about this dev, but if someone makes some page asking for donations to help him make a game but he almost don't work on it because they expect people to keep sending money either way, it is scammy, regardless if people choose to send the money on their own volition.
This is true. Then bitch about them being a scam, let everyone else know how little they update and what their required Patron amounts are, etc. But to claim you were scammed when you forgot you were paying them each month to not update... that's laughable.Just because something isn't outright illegal or a proper scam scheme, doesn't mean it isn't scammy behaviour.
Even thought I love this game, I hate grindy sandbox elements and this is no exception, but being Ren'Py it's really easy to go around it.Do i really have to grind $2000 for candy after grinding $1000 for Luna? The only mission that gives me a bit of money is the painter thing that earns $150 each run. I really dont want to do this any more...
I can only donate so much a month to games I enjoy and are being worked on. So I donated for months thinking it was being worked on when it wasn't. I could have donated to someone else who has been working. Its frustrating that I wasnt supporting someone else for their work.Hopes isn't running a charity. These people aren't donating they are supporting. They didn't give money without expecting something back. They are supporting him because they like the game and wanted him to be able to work on the game full time. Which he is supposed to be doing. The success of the game allowed him to leave his job and work on the game. I highly doubt they supported this project so he could fuck off and not say a word.
I don't know Hopes, but when he's been on here he has seemed like a decent guy and willing to interact with his fan base, even the pirates. So I give him more benefit of the doubt than I would most developers. However this mess is entirely on him. It's not difficult to take 5 minutes in 3 months to make a post on patreon, discord, F95 or anywhere else to give those that are supporting you and the fans a heads up on what's going on with the game.

Well, let's see: First, the Earth cooled. And then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil. And then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes-Benzes. And Prince Charles started wearing all of Lady Di's clothes. So what happened?
He said he needed to take a mental break for a bit. Plus, he just got married a couple months ago, so that added to the break. But he says he's getting back at it. At least, that's what he said on his Discord a couple weeks ago.Nooo did they really abondon game like that? sadge
