Heh, I think you are misunderstanding again. And sadly a reoccurring thing so it is a bit difficult. But I will try to make it even more simple.

Yes, we do understand what you mean. You do not like the story because you find it weird. You don't like how the genres are being mixed up. How I am not following the 'guidelines' of common storytelling.

[...]

So basically- because you want to be toxic?
Looking at your past post at the different game threads- almost all of the comments are negative comments.

You commented. I answered.
I am very active on the thread. The only time I am not is after a release. Due to the number of comments.

I don't shy away from toxic people. I don't curse or become aggressive. Instead, I am curious as to why you behave the way you guys do.
Why do you feel the need to spend your time writing over 200 comments attacking devs, games and normal players?
Why do you think you are above other people and think it's okay to use derogatory words (and no, attacking someone and then saying that you didn't mean it as an attack is not possible. As someone who claims to be a literature expert, you should know that.)
I would say you're wasting your time, HopesGaming, but who am I to say? After all, I also waste a fair amount of my time on people like this. There seems to always be a pattern in arguing with them, they keep repeating the same argument over and over without really presenting any new information; and these arguments are most of the time solely based on personal opinions with little to 0 care for facts or other people's opinions; refusing to understand what other people are saying while at the same time insisting that it is other people who still don't understand what they mean. And when the above doesn't work, they go to hide behind personal attacks and insults. Personally, I think it might have something to do with needing to feel superior, OR the lack in reading-comprehension ability, but who knows? I've been curious as to why these people behave the way they do for ages as well.

But back to topic, keep up the good work, as always, and don't worry too much about the release, art cannot be rushed! ;)

This is just brilliant!
You didn’t just answer my comment. You started a discussion in which you accused me of being inconsistent in my criticism, of insulting other people and of being toxic. You began to demand that I confess my hatred of your game. You demand an explanation of why I am here. Each time I give a specific and short answer, but each time you reject it and keep asking WHY YOU ARE HERE ?! In the end, when I gave up trying to explain something, you say: AHA! THIS BECAUSE YOU ARE TOXIC!
So which of the two of us are really toxic? Huh?

You can do whatever you want with your game. I never said that you should change something in it. Not a single word of mine claimed this. It is up to you to decide. I was just trying to logically and consistently explain my view of it. And only because you yourself asked me about it.
And I'm glad that you have so many fans. I'm just not one of them. If it makes me toxic ... Okaaaaay. I can live with that.

The DeLuca Family is one of the most well-written game over this site; while playing this I felt tied up by the story and now I want to play more and more of it! Also, Luna is the most intriguing character from all VNs that I already played, her childhood story is shocking and so sad.

I take the moment to say that I loved the oath scene with Luna!

It's a bit funny how some (though not all) of these people who try to be vocal in their complaints about the game tend to be showing the similar pattern, saying "their opinion = facts" lol View attachment 590498
My only Complaint is that HopesGaming needs to release the game, the* wait is killing me

Just some questions before before the update releases - HopesGaming, from what you've been telling us every now and then, there's to be quite a bit of lore added to this update (or the one after that? Can't remember), right (in addition to Isabel's lewd rotation content)?

So with that in mind, I have two questions (not sure whether it has been asked or not).

1) Regarding lore in general, could we perhaps get a history of each Family (plus perhaps a bit of Mysterious Six as well?) regarding such things like major conflicts they had (war or skirmishes with other Families), their diplomatic actions (alliances with another Family etc), and perhaps how they are perceived by the civilians of Lucania etc etc?
I wouldn't say lay it all out to the point where it spoils the main story, but perhaps these lore entries can be updated as MC meets and encounters new Families/enemies etc.

2) The DeLucas' Family crest is the Serpent. But what are the Family crests of rest of the Big 5 (plus other smaller families who have or will play prominent parts in the future)? Also, are there any crests for the Mysterious Six? Or do they simply have no crest (perhaps they operate without one)?

Doing all this would probably be quite a bit of work. But still, I consider myself a bit of a sucker for stuff like this, and I would be pretty glad if you can do something like this (since I feel it may add an extra layer to the game's immersion) - doesn't have to be in this update or the next. As long as it comes sometime in the future, I'll be glad (though if it is too much work and not possible to do any of this, I'll be understanding also).

1. The lore was supposed to be in 0.05.1. Have a good chunk of it written. But sadly, it will not be in 0.06.
I postponed due to it taking too long and took too much time off the main update. Will probably be in the 0.06.1
(can be in 0.07 due to the new gameplay mechanics)

But yes, it contains detailed information about all the different families (big to small) their founders, important members, allies and enemies, important events, etc.

There are details on notable events such as "the big war" and others.

2. All families have their own crest. Those would be detailed in the lore section. I probably hire an artist to make their crests.

That's totally fine. I consider the lore stuff something that I'd love to see, but still consider it as something extra (which should not get in the way of your main updates).

Still, really glad to hear they're coming sometime in the future (even if they don't come in 0.06.1 or 0.07, I wouldn't mind, as long as they can get added somewhere down the line).

I always find it odd when people complain about there being non-sexual dark and uncomfortable tones in adult games. There can be rape, slavery, bestiality and not to mention the massive amounts of incest in games on here, those seem to all be uncontroversial, but add in murder and psychological torture in a mafia game and suddenly some people are shocked and appalled.

Don't get me wrong, I can absolutely see why some people wouldn't like Luna's backstory. It's not for everybody, I just find it odd that with all the things that are on here, this is what people find controversial. The Luna update was personally my favorite because it was difficult story to tell well, without coming off as crass/murder porn-y, but Hope pulled it off really well. I also think it fit the game overall.
Another example where people got outraged was Acting lessons. I'll avoid spoilers so I'll just talk around it a bit. i was personally not a big fan of "that part" of the game, not because it didn't fit in an adult game or that it was dark or anything but just that I thought that it made the other choices up to that point a bit too binary, leaving you with just an A or B choice (I know there were more variables in there, but that was how it came off to me). I disliked it because I felt it removed agency from the player. Other than that, it was an excellent game and the ending/s were well executed, but some people freaked out at that game in the same way as people freaked out about Luna.

I dunno, it takes all kinds I guess. It's just always confused me what some people gets riled up about.

Yeah, I mean it's not the first time someone complained Luna's backstory (and it probably won't be the last lol). What I loved about "My name is Luna" update was the fact that we got to explore the inner layers of Luna's psyche, cause for her trauma etc. It just makes me really feel for and understand her character a lot more than before.

From the start Hopes has told a story that's unique & gives the characters to this game real depth, and I personally feel Luna update is a prime example of that (even though it's very dark).

One thing which annoyed me quite a bit about the person who most recently complained was the fact he basically started insulting the people who liked the update (like myself & many others), saying things like "inexperienced, infantile players, those who cry over JVN "
I mean it can be different strokes for different folks, and he's got a right to an opinion (so not saying he needs to be agreeing with rest of us), but there's the respectful way, and an insulting way to go about it.

- Example of Respectful way: "I didn't like the Luna update. I felt it was [XYZ reasons] for my tastes etc etc."
(no need for any conflict of any kind if this approach was used)

- Example of Insulting (plus wrong) way to make a point: "The game is [ABC]. It looked like an primitive attempt to break a tear from inexperienced, infantile players, those who cry over JVN
(trying to state an opinion as fact, plus insults rest of the fanbase)

There were some people before (since Luna update) that did make their point the respectful way. To those people, while I disagree with them, still have my respect. Unfortunately, there are some who complain that fall into the later category.

Don't liking a piece of art is always fine. Asking artist to change their art is always wrong. Nothing is taboo in art. Even if we find it horrendous and super against our views. Censhorship is bad.
EDIT: Asking artist to change their art is always wrong, as long as nobody got hurt producing it. Just in case. Some serial killers consider themselves artists.
