They will be this length, or a little bigger. But they will release more regularly.

The rate at which I produce new renders will be the same, just released in smaller chunks. Of course, depending on the story, an update's size can vary quite a bit. I try to stop at points of the story that make sense.

The 800+ render updates take too long, and if people want to play bigger chunks of the story, they can skip an update.

And thank you for your good words, I appreciate it!
All good. I looked always into the changelog and though "Oh wow, that's plenty compared to other devs" and stop checking eventually. Because of that I was now just suprised, that it felt so short. I mean, still a lot happend and that added to that feeling. I have no problems with this amount of renders per update, it's still a decent amount. But I probably will from now on start to play only every second update to have a bigger amount. But I understand your decision, it will definitly help, if your game shows up more regulary on the latest updates.

Future, yes.

Dazmorah (said shortstack) is a dwarf, IIRC, and yes, she will be an LI.

As for the two you pinpointed in the crowd, we don't have anything on them yet, but it's good to let Vanderer know about interest. I second your interest myself, especially the one in front, but I'm willing to have them wait behind a few other girls I consider higher priority. :D

The only case where it could be an issue is if you include the linux specific files under lib or the game_name.sh file (e.g. TFS.sh) as the ZIP needs to flag those files to be executable. Otherwise Linux users need to mark them executable after the fact. Actually, 7z archives don't have that option anyway...

This was a fun little romp. Not really erotic and the renders aren't mindblowing, but enjoyable as some fantasy escapism. I liked some original elements like Ninkasi, which does appear to be an established god but not one I've seen featured in D&D or the like, as Clerics are my favourite class. It was well written, I half judge VNs by if I ever start getting bored and feel like skipping, and I didn't here.

Only real complaint was that is was a bit too on the rails though, and often I found myself wanting to be more in control of things... like I'd rather have not fucked Martha or promised her children, I've got no interest in her... likewise 0 interest in the wife of the lord/father yet the MC is lusting after her sometimes. Celeste is another that I'd not have chosen to be with. Oh and I find the french maid dresses a bit silly for the slaves, but that's a terribly minor complaint.

I feel bad for the old man though, he seems to have had it harsh, I get why his 'loss' there is essential - the adoption, and people not getting whiny about another dude being around. But I hope things won't get any worse for him he's been a good dude, I really refuse to follow a route where the MC is bedding his wife even if there's some dumb porn game logic where he starts asking for it to happen (mainly because she's not hot, but still).

The seamstress is probably the hottest girl in the game so hopefully she gets it soon, she seemed up for it. The horse riding elf I'm also kinda sweet on just because she's had a rough time. Oh and I definitely want to knock up the tavern owners fighty sister. Kes I'm guessing will take some work but I find scars hot so hoping it happens before she's ever healed.

I find it funny that the children are just scaled down people, I get it's probably due to limitations of the programs used to make the renders, but it does give me a chuckle and I enjoy it.

Ok will modify my template.

hmm like I said no clue about Linux. I only put in .ph if there is a renpy/python change. Will put an info about the .ph in the renpy change template.

I figure the troll kid decision depends on the whether or not the author is a Killer DM type. If he is, it won't matter we'll be hurt by either decision. If not, it might not matter either way. Or maybe sparing the troll will setup an Androcles' Lion situation. Or maybe it'll come back to bite the MC, literally even.

Maria is just adorable. Will also be a big sister soon, I suspect.

I was going to complain about Aoife not drinking alcohol because she suspects she's pregnant, but then realized this isn't Medieval/Renaissance Europe. It's a fantasy world with tech at that level, but clerics using their healing abilities might've noticed something like that over the centuries and now it's common for a woman to not drink alcohol when pregnant like it is nowadays in this world.

Edit: Realized while I was at work that maybe I revealed a few spoilers. Apologies if I did so, and for the belated spoiler tag inserted many hours after I posted.

Even in the real world, the earliest mentions of alcohol being bad for pregnancy date back much farther than most people think.

I mean, it's mentioned in "The Book of Judges" which scholars believe was written sometime in the late 7th or early 6th century B.C.

Of course they didn't know why it was bad like we do now, but they did know it was bad.

Some of you are dead set on the killing the child troll and trying to justify this action, so others do the same. At least it reads so IMO. Who says, that it had to happen to prevent future problems? Maybe the troll dies due to the fact that it can't hunt on their own or that he remembers, that humans defended themself because they were attacked by the mother, but showed mercy to it? The latter scenario it could also mean, that it wanders into different parts of the world and will never be seen anymore by the MC and his party. It could also show mercy to other people while only having a grudge against the MC and his party for the killing. There are tons of scenarios, where the outcome of this could also go into a complete different direction. Maybe your decision was the wrong one and might make things more difficult for you in the future, while we will have some kind of benefit.

In the end, it comes all down to how Vander wants it to play out in both cases.
Do what you will.

I was merely explaining (within the discourse of the thread) why I found it the most logical and least harmful choice.

Our MC's job, after all, is to protect and eventually lead the region to health and prosperity. That often requires tough choices. In the real life of leadership, those rough decision-points also exist. Very few choices presented in leadership afford exquisitely black or white outcomes. It's a quest feature I adore in Witcher 3. The moral uncertainty, the variable cost in any decision, the gray area. The lesser 'evil', the unforeseen repercussions.

I am glad the dev put this kind of stuff in the game. It adds depth. Choose as you will.

There are a few muscle girls in the game, but generally there will be girls for all sort of tastes.

As for the girls pictured, there is nothing....yet! I have a cast of town citizen that serve as background, and when I need a new character that live there I generally grab one for that cast.

That's because I want to show the girls being pregnant in the game, not just at the end of it. That mean a shitload of renders to make if I give the choice.

An example: A scene with 3 LIs. 20 renders for the scene. If you can chose which is gonna be pregnant, that means 160 renders for the scene to account for all the possibilities, if my math are right. And that's only with 3 characters.

On the full length of the VN, that means thousands additional renders to make. I could do it but...I have quite a lot of story to tell, and I want it to progress at a decent pace.

That's why most games shows the pregnancy at the end, not in the middle of the game. Since I want pregnancy to be a core kink in my VN, I had to make sacrifices.

I am a DM in real life, but not a killer one. It depends of the situation. Some choice have a wrong and a bad answer, some are more grey with upsides and downsides for every choices.

That one in particular is a classic dilemma. The original is about finding orc's babies. Are you gonna kill them knowing that orcs are always evil (in the setting), or are you gonna let them live because they are innocent, for now , knowing that they will become murderous bastards in the future?

It makes you think about morality, nature vs nurture, that sort of things.

Great post!

Indeed, middle-age people knew, for the most part. They were not stupid, just less educated. But they knew cause and effect.
If they saw, again and again, that women that drank a lot gave birth to deformed babies, sooner or later they made the link.

And they did not have magic, like in the setting, or the guidance of a god that can talk to them via their Heralds. And, due to the Curse, their clerics teamed with mages to study pregnancy in great detail.

Well, if sparing the troll kid leads to someone's death, I'm reloading the save and frying him. Hoping for an Androcles's Lion situation.

I obviously won't spoil, but I am going to be frank: the payback will not be soon. There will be quite a few updates before it.

As for Androcles lion, if I remember correctly Androcles did something nice for the lion, hence why he became tame. The situation here is quite different.

Well I was going to mention Julie Shackleford and Mr Trash Bags from the Monster Hunter International novels, but not sure many would get the reference. (Julie when she was a little girl had an imaginary friend named Mr Trash Bags, that turned out to be real and was a shoggoth whom she somehow befriended. Yes she met him later when she was an adult.)

Or maybe it'll be like Archer with Babou the ocelot.
