I have no context for stuff prior than the last couple pages I think, where you mentioned you were making it not to make money & it would be released free or something so it makes no sense to me that you would stop making it entirely because of leaks since it doesn't really conflict with your end game of the project.

Leaks suck sure, I'm curious how this Maltador person is leaking things. I'm guessing his not a developer because the easy solution would be to just remove him from the team, so I'm guessing it's a subscriber of patreon etc and is leaking your preview builds? If this is the case this is also an easy solution. Don't release those builds anymore and you won't have these leaks that are filled with bugs and missing paths (which I'm guessing is the main factor here). Only release a content-complete 'beta' to iron out the bugs prior to the full release. Plenty of 'beta' builds get posted here and seem (as far as I can tell) respected and people tend to wait since they don't want to break their save files or if they do play them to offer feedback etc since the 'final' build would only be like a week or two out from that point.

Perhaps you don't like the thought of not doing preview builds, potential loss of patreons etc and as much as I hate using Ecchi Sensei here as an example clearly enough people are okay with long droughts between patreon releases cause that guy went 18 months doing nothing and still had a healthy sub income. People like your game and it's a shame to see you abandon it over something that seems to trivial and easy to solve, you just have to approach it from a different angle and move forward.

The thing is that this is a project me and my subscribers started together. I have been writing stories here on F95zone for a few years, but I didn't have the skills or money to turn them into real visual novels. I just wrote some stories with my terrible English and published them here for my own amusement. However some people wanted me to turn my stories into visual novels. People talked me into creating a Patreon, some people volunteered to do proofreading, many helped me with playtesting and someone even started to create renders and animations to my stories. I could focus on writing stories and my subscribers/patreons took care of the rest.

The thing is that I can't create this game without the help from my Patreons and therefor I have released early versions to them and not published anywhere else before they have had time to play it and check it for bugs.

Lately someone on F95zone (I don't know his Patreon name) has published these versions of the game here on the same day as it has been released for my Patreons. He has made it clear that his intentions is to hurt the game and force me to abandon it. His reasoning is that I'm a toxic person and therefore deserve it. The really sad thing is that he got a lot of fans who cheer him on and think that it's funny that he destroys the game. All the hate and the enjoyment people showing from seeing someone destroying the game that my Patreons and I have spend enormous amount of time on really kills my motivation for creating a game.

Creating a betaversion sounds like good idea. I just fear that someone will release the beta-version here and that it will show up among "Latest updates". When I release the finished version a few weeks later then that will not come up among on the "Latest Updates" because it's just smaller changes from the beta version. That means that more people will play the beta-version with bugs than the finished version...

That's probably likely given it's already been happening so can't be avoided really. I would say since your a developer yourself and tagged as such on the site perhaps you could send the admins a feature request so that Alpha/Beta is considered a 'status' and put into the 'latest updates' as an option that can be toggled to show or hide. I'm sure the admins would be more open to hearing the feature request from a developer with their reasoning rather than most other people on this site.

I'm really sorry about that. The reason why we haven't made an official announcment about THS on Patreons yet is that we've had discussions inside the development team. Some wants us to bend over and let Maltador keep on fucking us while others have had enough. We will make an announcement soon.

I don't know who Maltador is. What I do know, is that there is around two hundred people who likes your game so much, that they are willing to send you part of their earnings every month. Thats a lot of people to leave behind just because of one guy.

I'm sorry the thread has endeavored to make you feel that way. But realize that it has led to a lot of love, too. Focusing too much on the negative isn't healthy. I never would have been introduced to any version of your story were it not for this thread. I am certain that, like me, there are many on the board that are impressed with your game. Happy to play an incomplete or flawed version and forgiving of the parts of it that need more work because at the end of the day we are just a confederation of unpaid (and perhaps unwanted) beta testers.

So, you are going to just walk away and give him exactly what he wants? Does it really matter that it was released with bugs here? Hell, if i like a game i will debug myself and continue playing. I would never expect the developer to release an untested version of the software. I do love the game and wanted to see where you were going with Angela. I hate that the 'haters' are going to force you to walk away. I feel that your updates were pretty darn good for both quality and pliability. I have been a software developer for 30+ years so i do understand the process pretty well. If there is anything i could do to help keep it going, please don't hesitate to let me know. And, you just have to "IGNORE" the trolls. They will always be there but consider where were having this discussion. Good luck. I love your writing and will miss this one.

xxerikxx, I believe that always there will people leaking content, not only here but in other sites and kind of things. The thurth is: you could release the content to your patreon members, and if they leak it, well, they will post them as an unnofficial release, once it has been cleared any possible errors, you could continue to share it here. Many years ago, some dude leaked my programs in college and i was frustrated, but that did not caused any harm to me, it just turned me smarter and confident on my own work. The story and the images are good enough.
