Sir_utakata:

Now for my critical analysis of my most recent review... Breaking it down piece by piece.

"These are my thoughts." Okay, we have established that you are capable of thinking. It is of paramount importance in the feedback process for the reviewer to be able to think. A true poet, and wordsmith. I like where this guy is going.

"No just no" A typical Haiku goes 5,7,5 respectively, but this guy is going 2,4,2 creatively trying to break that mold and start his own new trend. Bravo, well-done sir. You are clearly the victor so far in this battle of the minds! How could I possibly hope to compete with such an articulate individual!

"Game is wierd" Yes, writing the complete sentence "The game is weird." would waste far too much of this exceptional fellows valuable time. We can all learn from this man. It may come off as a bit prudent, but imagine all the time we would save! I'm bested yet again I'm afraid.

"Story is just so bad" Yet again saving that precious resource time by avoiding the use of the word "the" at the start of his sentence. In fact, I titled my game "The Home", but it's exe file is is simply "Home". We are of like minds sir! I'll call this one a tie since you already extensively belabored your point previously.

"renders are oke and i think thats the only think i liked about this game" How did he know that my renders were a "oke": or any of three units of weight varying around 2.8 pounds and used respectively in Greece, Turkey, and Egypt... My secret is out... I have been foiled. The man can clearly read my mind. I must don my tinfoil hat. He is a rather humble fellow as well as I have noticed by him not capitalizing his use of "i" in this sentence not once, but twice! That means he is a rather selfless fellow often putting others before himself. A true gentleman. This man thinks twice as much as me clearly.

"You play as the imaginary friend of a girl in a home with a mom and a shemale mom." Yes... This is very true. There is no possible way I could have put that better myself.

Yep this guy is right... Sorry guys I must stop making the game now to go commit Seppuku for I have brought great shame upon my family. Absolutely Inexcusable. Goodbye cruel world... Yihman1 is now dead. Game Over. The End. Wait a minute... I can't find my Katana... I don't own a Katana. I guess I will have to continue my miserable existence knowing such enlightened fellows are capable of easily humiliating me. Such shame I now have, and absolutely no sarcasm or humor at all.

Alright... First guy was easy to retort in all fairness... This guys gonna be WAY tougher since he actually put a lot of thought into it... and he sounds like an intelligent fellow. Time to break this one down piece by piece as well... I think I'll have to put on a more serious tone now and stop being a smartass. My baseball cap has officially been flipped around. Can't do it with a frontward facing baseball cap. Got no power that way... Now to go point for point with every point mentioned...

v 0.7 review

So, I think that the creator did a good job with the models and posing in 2nd life which is not really designed for this type of thing. But the game as a whole is very offputting. I don't know if it was the fact that there are parts that feel like you're drunk, stoned, or insane, as you read the dialogue. Or maybe it was the period where the black character spoke in horribly stereotypical fake racist ways, or the extreme political message. But it was probably all of these things. The game is just a bit of a turn off, and it feels unfocused for lack of a better term. Like the author wants to plug their second life account and connections, and also soap box about their anti liberal agenda, and also write a porn game, and also explore transgender sissyism, and also the nature of reality, and also and also and also and also. Furthermore the writing makes an attempt to be deep, and misses the mark.

In the end it's not the worst game, it's bug free, and it might appeal to some people. But it didn't to me. I wish the creator the best of luck and im sure you'll find the niche you're looking for.
"So, I think that the creator did a good job with the models and posing in 2nd life which is not really designed for this type of thing." It is absolutely not designed for this the same way Daz is. This guy is coming out with the old fashioned "compliment sandwich approach starting and ending on a positive note. Classy

"But the game as a whole is very offputting." Go on... oh and he does. Yay!

"I don't know if it was the fact that there are parts that feel like you're drunk, stoned, or insane, as you read the dialogue. " The protagonist is suffering from mental illness, and they are a highly hormonal teenage girl that is homeschooled, lacking adequate social interactions. Furthermore, some crazy sci-fi / fantasy elements are added in which would only exacerbate things. How could anyone in such circumstances behave "normally"?

"Or maybe it was the period where the black character spoke in horribly stereotypical fake racist ways, or the extreme political message. " I thought I made it more than obvious that she was briefly talking in ebonics to annoy the protagonist. Two friends joking on one another. It's rather clear she is capable of talking "normally" and she spoke that way to mock such stereotypes. I guess that went over your head. As for extreme political messages the most extreme part of any political message is "We are lead by ineffective psychopath leaders." and then the other 2 scenes where you can choose to beat up Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton. It's an "anti-establishment" message not an "extreme political" message.

"But it was probably all of these things. The game is just a bit of a turn-off, and it feels unfocused for lack of a better term. " I can't control what turns others on and off. Valid criticism about a lack of focus at times we all have that.

"Like the author wants to plug their second life account and connections," I mention this briefly at one point in the game. It costs a ton L$ to and time make a game as I have. Not counting existing assets, and land fees and time I have put over L$ 30,000 into the game or around $120 usd. If people gotta waste 5 seconds reading that oh well. It's like complaining that someone playing a guitar in the park has cups out to accept tips. Nobody is obliged to pay, nor am I putting up any sort of paywalls. Just get over it dude. It's just networking jeeze... I actually met an awesome sub from this game a real sweet girl.

"and also soap box about their anti liberal agenda," May as well lay my cards on the table... I don't have an anti liberal agenda. I have an anti-feminist agenda. (I believe in equal rights for men and women, and I think feminism is anti equal rights.) I have an anti-establishment agenda. I have an anti-communist agenda (communist countries take away human rights. I like human rights. So communism bad.). I don't have an anti-conservative agenda either. In fact, I give the player the option to karate kick Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton to death. How could a game where you kick Donald Trump to death be marketed as an "anti liberal" game. When it comes to politics I have 1 overshadowing opinion. Less government is better. Small government good big government bad. All governments in all shapes and forms. Bare bones governments or anarchy is the best way to go. We do not need some nanny state wiping our asses or a totalitarian regieme telling us what to do. Look at all the people killed by governments of all kinds. Democracies, Republics, Communists, Socialists, Monarchies, you name it... They all go to war and send the flower of our youth (usually men) to be turned into cannon fodder. For what? It's never worth it. Heres a medal Tommy now go kill Billy before he kills you... That being said certain characters as part of their core personality will have certain varying political views. Opposing political views is an excellent source of conflict which is good for story writing. For instance, if I had a clergyman character they would likely be "pro-life". Political beliefs are a part of our personalities. A lot of creators will completely avoid such issues because it is sure to cause a divide in people and can reduce funding. I don't do this for the money. I simply don't care. I'm aware it's dangerous grounds. I believe freedom should always be #1.

"and also write a porn game, and also explore transgender sissyism, and also the nature of reality, and also and also and also and also." Yes to porn game, explore transgenderism/sissy yes, yes to the nature of reality yep agree 100% all this.

"Furthermore the writing makes an attempt to be deep, and misses the mark." That's where you are wrong, and I think that this is your personal bias being the judge. At points it can be rather deep, at other points it can be simply silly. It's both very serious and not very serious at the same time existing in a Schrodinger's cat of deepness...

"In the end it's not the worst game, it's bug free, and it might appeal to some people. But it didn't to me. I wish the creator the best of luck and im sure you'll find the niche you're looking for." Well can't make them all happy. Thanks and good luck as well.

Hi developer,

Don't waste your time responding to every criticism- unless you enjoy it as you're clearly quite good at it! If you're making your game because of a passion or goal, just do it. The early stages are going to be bumpy but your game should develop a reputation over time and this will attract some and- inevitably- leave others dissatisfied. Dissatisfied people have a range of other games to explore on here!

I like that you're using including futa content. I look out for games with the tag hoping there'll be content involving females being corrupted/humiliated either in lesbian or futa storylines (the Jasmine route in Good Girl Gone Bad had so much potential!)- I hope you'll have something like that in here.

All the best. I hope you enjoy the process of creating the game.

Someone please tell me this is just a bad advertisement of the game and the game is good. There are so few good female protagonist games now and this looks interesting but WTF is that face, like seriously. ABORT.

Is this a sequal to some other game? In the first game was there a car crash that this girls head was in the middle of or what? What is wrong with her face? She looks like gigantic bees stung both of her cheeks or something and has a permanent bloating there now or something.

seeing how this game is progressing
guess u will never have an old save working xD
The possibility of new content branching out from any point in the story is always a possibility.

Maybe I'll go back and slap some jizz on that spoon, and make it so the Imaginary friend has the possibility of warning Lura?

Maybe I'll go back and let Lura enter the room when her parents are fooling around?

Maybe I'll go back and expand previous points where I saw some folks trolling and give Lura's feedback?

Who knows what I'll do next, or how I'll change things. One thing is for sure though. It's never going to be some cookie cutter game that is unoriginal.

Whatever. Dev, I'll be brief - less shitposting, more medications.
Thank you for sharing this comment. Your 100% unoriginal insult has been uttered before.

You are very welcome. It is the very least I can do with so many people here giving there amazing talents up for the world to enjoy. I wish I could do more. I may be able to contribute if there is any dev's needing music for their projects. I am a retired vocalist/recording artist. I have a full state of the art studio. I still record but had to give up live performances. That life was finally getting to me, I guess 45 years on the road was all I could give. Just type this in the google search bar and you will find some of my recordings. "rik mafield" without the quotation marks and yes there is no c in Rik and no y in Mafield.

Well, no, im not wrong. It's an opinion. My opinion is that the writing felt like you were attempting to be deep but didn't come off that way. I'm not 'wrong' it's my opinion. Als, yes, it is my personal bias, but it's also my review which is my opinion. One of the nice things about aggregate opinions is that you get people who sometimes like and sometimes don't like certain games, but with enough reviews the mean score comes out.

I didn't intentionally write the review as a compliment sandwich, but there is some good in the game, but I feel like im just not the target audience. It's not my type of game, just like the side scrolling platformers aren't my style of game. I think you've done some good work but it's kinda niche.

Again I think you'll find the right audience for what you're going for with this game and I wish you ALL the luck in the world!

Herer we go again :D I'll play along.

Opinions can be wrong because right and wrong are relative terms based on the individual who perceives the opinion. I'll give you an example.

A vegan has an opinion. "Eating meat is disgusting." To the vegan this argument is completely 100% true.
On the other hand a non-vegan claims. "Bacon is delicious." To this meat-eater, this argument is completely 100% true.
These are two completely contrasting opinions. Yet neither person is a liar, and both of them are telling the truth.
What is true is relative to what you believe. You and I both believe one of these two statements to be true, but both are true, and both are false and it's all a matter of perspective.

Reviews are generally bullshit and fail at accurately judging a game (or another thing) anyways for a number of reasons, I'll just list a few.

1) Date of the review. A review of a 0.2 version of a game is not going to accurately portray what the player of version 0.85 of that same game is going to experience. Perhaps they fixed some bugs, added a lot more content reworked this and that feature fixed some of the typos... Totally different game. Still has that bad review hanging over it's head though.

2) People who get a negative experience are FAR more likely to give a review than people who get a positive experience. The man who finds a rat head in his food is much more likely than the million other customers who enjoyed their meal and did not get affected by the tainted batch to leave a review. It's a bias we as humans often times have. Unfortunately, we remember the negative more than the positive. You got a faithful wife for a decade then one night you walk in on her sucking another guy off. You aren't thinking about those 10 happy years anymore are you?

3) Reviews are a very simple matter to rig. If I felt compelled to do so I could make myself have dozens of five-star votes in less than a days time. It's a very easy system to fool, and hard to detect manipulation. There are private companies such as "Reputation Stacker" or "review stackers" that will give you all the reviews you want for a small fee. Simple google the following two words together... "Buy Reviews" and you will see just how rigged reviews oftentimes. (Not saying your review is rigged by the way, but oftentimes reviews can be rigged very easily.)

4) Only a very small percentage of people leave reviews. The sample size is always too small to be accurate.

5) Different people like different things.

So these "Aggregate opinions" you speak of are seldom "Accurate opinions."

You claim you are not the target audience. Why would you then leave a review if you feel you are not a member of the target audience? For instance, I'm not a big fan of the man on man action not that their is anything wrong with that. Personally, I wouldn't go to one of the gay games on here and leave a review on it. Because It's gonna be like "His hairy balls were gross it needs more girls...ewww" how would that be helpful to the target audience that want hairy man nuts?

You claim you are not the target audience. Why would you then leave a review if you feel you are not a member of the target audience?

Just going to address a few quick points before I have to run out the door:

Point 1 is why I always try to put, at the header of my review, the version that I'm reviewing.

Point 2, I don't think that's the case for me. You can see my reviews and you'll see there's a fair share of good and negative reviews. If I can be perfectly honest I usually skip reviewing 3 star games, because they're just meh. For me, personally, 1 star is like bad, don't play. 2 star is like something could be changed and make it into a good game, or it's not for me, or whatever, 3 star is your average, 4 star is a special game that really seems interesting but has flaws, and 5 is an amazing game with few flaws that really does a great job. Your game, in version 0.7 is a 2 star game. I think with a few changes it could be something that's a lot more attractive to me personally. But I also don't think you will change the tone because after reading this thread I understand that weird mental instability is exactly what you're going for. I don't have a problem with that, I'm glad you're making the game you want to make, I support creators who do this. It's just not something I personally liked, and I think that other people might feel the same way.

To answer your last question, I leave reviews for a lot of games that I play, especially if I play through all of the available content, like I did with your game. I went and saw every branching choice with save scumming, and got to all available endings. Afterwards, I left a review. This is something I often do.

If I can end this with a bit of advice, which you can take or not take:

Stop being so aggressive.

Your tone in this thread is very confrontational, especially with people who leave feedback that you don't agree with. "Here we go again," "This guy" etc. I understand that your work is personal, and it's good that you're defensive. But the fact of the matter is as a developer you should be encouraging ALL feedback, even the 3 sentence low iq responses. You never know when a bit of feedback will give you a new idea or a new way of looking at a thing, and you never know when your response to a critic or fan will lead to them becoming a supporter.

Best of luck in any regard and keep on keeping on!

I am real with people. What you just typed out probably sounded really good in your head, and on the surface, it does appear to be an attempt at being insightful and helpful. Rather commendable. Here is the thing though.

You say stop being so aggressive... Want a cold hard truth about this world we live in? Nothing meaningful was ever accomplished by a passive person ever in the history of mankind. I'd rather blow my fucking brains out than be a passive person. No passive man ever gets that promotion, gets that pussy, or accomplishes that goal. If I set my mind to something I aggressively go out and do it. Aggressiveness is a virtue.

The only time that aggression is considered bad in my book is when the individual in question is a criminal. Nobody really likes passive people either I'm afraid. Passive guys are looked at as a "Nice guy". They are the cucks in these stories. They are the door mats of society. They are the beta orbiters that are friends with lots of girls, but get no pussy. They are male feminists. They are the soy boys. They are the NEETS without an education or employment. They are that 500-pound lard ass you see on the motorized scooter in wal mart. They are the welfare rats that live off the fat of the land while others provide for them with their taxes or charity. Passiveness is a sin.

Passive people are "Takers"
Aggressive people are "Makers"

end rant
Holy shit what an obnoxious reply, talk about being full of themselves and I sure as hell wouldn't be with the quality you're sitting on in this project. You have some real issues to figure out in your life, you really try to come off as confident and secure in themselves but that reply screams insecurity.

here is my unofficial android port of The Home v0.8.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

from now on my android ports of Ren'Py games have a 2nd, persistent save location like windows. if you uninstall an app, the save files and persistent data remain intact.
therefore the app needs the permission to access the public external storage, because it has to read and write outside its own external storage directories.
you have to grant the permission or the app is shut down.

have fun and please report problems (you can reach me ).
