I do NOT know wtf happened with this update. Old saves broken. Ok early in so whatev. I'll start a new run. So. Many. BUGS. FFS, even just being introduced to Jennifer was a bug....to let her have her DEFAULT name. Some Raid is definitely needed. Other then that like the game. Just pissed that an update that I was looking forward to has been little more then stampeding over le dick. Dunno how much is in the traceback. Just tacked it on unopened.
I downloaded the PC NOPY compressed version of the game in this thread. So (taking it hasn't changed since yesterday) this link:

That has nothing to do with it, and is something completely different. My sihost.exe is working fine and doesn't give any error.
The issue is that my firewall detects that the .exe file of this game, tries to access sihost.exe. There is no error, there is nothing else. Just the exe trying to get access to sihost.exe. If I block the .exe file of this game from accessing core windows files(using my firewall), the game still functions properly. So why does it even try to access sihost?
This is unusual behavior for any program, let alone a renpy game. And to be more clear: no program has ever done this for me in the past AND I just reinstalled windows a week ago, so there shouldn't be any issues on my end.
It's fairly likely this is the reason that some antivirus software judges this game to be a virus.
Now could this have something to do with an error in the game or something I don't know about. Could be. I have no clue why the exe file of this game would try to access sihost.exe.
I however find it suspicious, so I'm steering clear of this.
Yeah the fact that the mom was a total pornslut kind of turned me off from the game. That was pretty easy to deduce from the fact she had to go 3 weeks to be banged by everyone because the dad likes to be cucked one last time. Yet that is something that I don't find very appealing. Oh well, too bad.

The change to ren'py did good. I always quite liked the game, but the main flaw I see is that it is just too verbose at times, with Ren'py it's at least easy to skip a bit from time to time.
Art seems to have improved the farther into the game you get as well.
So all in all, good update and the change in engine definitely is for the better.

You'd think that with the MC being the heir to his father's assets and possibly his businesses, he could renegotiate the necessity of that trip, if it is what we are speculating is going on. But no, she had the great idea to leave the day before it became finalized.

Nice to get the warning about a game-changing choice I thought that was a good choice I usually make saves at dialogue that I think is always important to the story.

I mean, I like a nice story, but this could have been published as a word document with a couple of pictures. It's like reading a book in a very inconvenient format with a shit ton of clicking. Not for me.

Me too, because of all other vn renpy game doesn't have this behaviour and my windows 10 works fine, but since i am starting the exe a smartscreen warning pops up.

Damn that was a lot of effort put into a date with a dude. Wouldn't be so bad if you actually came out of it thinking he was a decent best friend character for the MC but he just seems like an arrogant dick to me. Struggle to believe he was ever a regular in that restaurant. Would've been booted and banned first visit.
The scene with the older sister was decent but the rest of the time would've been better spent with lil sis and her friend or Michiko but no we get Marcel and now we've got to spend Friday night with him too.
Hopefully at that dinner we'll get the option to break the code and bang his sister to end the friendship for good. Or at least get a major rewrite on that man date where he's less of an over the top, mysogynistic, homophobic, loudmouthed, cliched caricature.
I like the older sisters hair.
Just wanted to end on a positive note.

Yeah, the whole restaurant thing was a bit weird.
Like, if he was a regular costumer, he should know the people there and how to behave.
Only smart thing the friend did was try to have the MC get the waitress' number. As it seemed she was into him even before she knew who he was. Surprised he didn't bring up calling the health inspector, for them having sex in the kitchen, to get out of being banned.

Ok so the game looking good ... we have a nice curvy blonde milfy mom doing shady shit (whoring herself to the whole fucking universe apparently), a cute little sister who idolizes the MC, a kinda disturbing but hot AF wannabe Kim K. big sis', a sexy asian best female friend and future LI, a gold digger bisexual tennant, a dead fat ass "I don't give a rat's ass about you motherfuckers but the big ass bitch" dad and an "interesting" homie/best friend with emphasis on interesting (yeah, u should change his character or have our boy flush him down the toilet after fucking the shit out of his sis' in front of him, that J.Derulo wannabe is ass fucked really bad even his mom points that out) and two other gold diggers that know the MC's family name.

The latest update was great and well-written! I feel like it made for a good dramatic story. That point when MC became upset at the restaurant after the employees there referred to his father and he would walk out, ranting to his friend outside about this was pretty powerful and really resonated with me. I feel like it made him as a character that you can empathize with and that build up his personality a bit more. It also reflects the struggles within his complex personality really well.
That scene actually made me wonder whether he was trying to disassociate himself from his father or whether he wanted to be treated same as everyone, not on the basis of his family's power and wealth. For the latter, he may be yearning for the freedom from the so-called "golden cage" where he would be treated differently almost like a prisoner from everyone else outside the "cage".
As for disassociating himself from his father, it may well be that his discoveries of the shocking truth about his father may have made his desires to do so even more stronger and that may well explain his more dramatic reactions to the employee's comments than would have been expected. That his reactions was more adverse than expected was evident in reaction to this incident of his friend with whom he was dining with there.
In my opinion, if the story writing continues to be strong and well-written like this, I believe The Inheritance will be one of the best written story games out there in this market.
