Man, I genuinely laughed SO hard reading that.

So, the only thing they dont delay are vacations? From August to... Now? 2 months before without saying nothing???Dude im dead :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I honestly didnt expect this, they really REALLY overcome themselves with this one, but the best part is, they delayed the whole release ANOTHER MONTH!!!!!!!!

Honestly I´ve no words, how many times they need to do that before ppl realize???

Edit: forgot to mention that in this time, they admit v0.95 its not even finished and only 2 minor quests are currently added, still they give deadlines and "almost done" posts!!!! Holy sht that´s some new level scam

Can someone please report this scam on patreon or something like this, maybe stop having patrons will help them realize the extend of their moronic behaviour.
Not sure Patreon ruling, but I guess they are not doing anything "wrong", they are making a game at his own pace and all those excuse are lies no doubt about it, but still "excuses" that might be true. I supported them before and just stopped when it was blatant, if theres any actual patreon here they should be the one trying to report this.

I have just finished my native translation of LoSeSb-Patreon-20.5.2f-pc, which is larger in quantity than that. It's not that they can't translate, it's that they are fraud

It's a 2 person team.
Xaljio is the coder - He does coding for several people including Akabur, DAHR(Iris Quest), and Latissa(Library Story)
So he's patreons is a mixed audience, properly fans from the artist he codes for.

Latissa(writer and artist) have her own page for only Library Story patreons, which is way under 1000$ :O

Another graph update
(I set the release date as June 30. They said they wouldn't leave it until the last day but I don't believe them)

Some other fun stats
The developers have (as of June 1st) gone 164 days over their original Dec 20 release date. That's 45% of a year or 5.3 months.
Assuming it releases on time (for ABSOLUTELY REAL THIS TIME) they will have gone 193 days over their original release date. That's over 6 months!

Anyways, see you guys on July 1st for another graph update!

"What will we do with this? I was planning a vacation for August, but now I will take (actually, already taken it) this June. And I’ll dedicate the whole this month to finalizing Library Story 0.95 to the form in which we originally wanted to publish it."

Sounds to me like this game need the bad bobby treatment. The guy who crated it was stringing people along for ages without updates and constantly lying about when it was coming out just like these guys.
Then someone else went, you know what I can do the art and the coding, so he released a better version of the game, no patreon, no money at all in fact, just working in his spare time. He's fixing the crap coding and adding more content to all the open ended plot lines.
Instantly the guy who created the original game rushed out the release he'd been stringing people along with, because it was the only way he could keep his patreons. No one is going to pay for a game that doesn't come out when they can get a better working version for free.

All that said I can't code to save myself, but really the bulk of the art assets are already there.

It doesn't matter if you steal art for non-profit purposes, it's still unethical and you don't have the right.
How is it stealing if you're not profiting from it, nor claiming ownership of the game/art/assets?
If anything, that would just be considered a mod or a fan game. That's hardly stealing.

Those types of games are really only a threat to the original once the original has essentially been abandoned already.

When you mod a game, you're infringing its copyrights. By default.

Take Nintendo... They don't give a shit if you're profiting or not. They throw their army of lawyers at you and go for your blood. And they can do that because, like it or not, they have the Law on their side, because of how poorly regulated are software modifications "for fun".

However, we're not even talking here about modding the Sims or Fallout with *new* mechanics and *new* content, no...

You people are basically talking about ripping apart LS game files, and extract its "assets" (again...: copyrighted artistic creations) without any consent, and use them to make an essentially identical game, only without crowdfunding and better turnaround times...

How could you consider ethical that is beyond me. Or maybe you're of the opinion that the ends justify the means, idk.
I think you forget that we're talking about a game which is using copyrighted characters (That don't belong to the game's creators). From what I understand, these porn "parody" games are already in somewhat shaky legal territory.

Morally speaking though, I would consider the creation of these types of fan games/mods (The ones using art or assets which were were made by the original game's creator) to be neutral. I would only consider it to be objectively/inherently unethical if they were trying to profit off of the game or claim ownership of it.

I can understand why the original creator might take issue with these types of games, but realistically, the only way these games can become a competitor/threat to the original is if the original has essentially been abandoned (As I said before). In any other case, most people likely wouldn't ever even consider playing the fan games in the first place.

Sorry to hear that you apparently got fucked over by your partner. I wouldn't say that's really comparable to someone making a free mod or fan game though.

Oh, I love to see lectures of ethics on a pirating site. Especially on this project, lol. I'ld gladly support someone who mods or uses another dev's work and create something better that I like as long as he doesn't put it behind a paywall. Donations don't form a customer relationship and you're not "paying for the product", you're paying for whatever the work that you liked be it modding or else.
