Not my kink, but not everything needs to be for me.
What I am confused by is why a functional herm species would have designated males. A male would be completely redundant when everyone already has male and female genitalia.

I'm totally with you on the stepcest bit. It's always so damn wishy-washy, like it somehow turns something that's supposed to be taboo into something that's somehow "acceptable." Bleh, I say! BLEH!
But in contrast, oddly enough, I'm all for adoptive incest. Maybe it's just because it's not some wishy-washy nonsense meant to defuse the spiciness of a kink, and instead (at least potentially) actually adds something to the story and the inter-character dynamic. Of course, it's nowhere near as hot as true/real incest. There's just something so appealingly fucked up about that stuff!

Because adopted isn't incest, unless you're Patreon, I guess. It takes away everything that excites people about incest. All of the taboo is gone. It's basically all of the negatives of using incest in a porn game with literally none of the benefits.
Just imagine a game has your favorite fetish but then it's a massive cop-out version of said fetish with all the things that you're into taken out of it, that's what adoption is for incest fans.
