I see 2 possible ways to deal with the menu problem.

1). Fit it all on the sidebars.
Streamlining them, slightly rearranging, and removing the redundant elements, all current stuff should fit on just one of them. The clickable tiles on the left bar do not need to get enlarged, as you hover over them, as anyway after clicking they bring the large picture onto the main screen. This should allow to shrink larger of them, and also would solve the issue with pop-outs blocking access to the smaller tiles on the right. The smartphone could also be cut down to a single button, which would bring a large pop-out with all functions on the main screen, when pressed. In the same way I would deal with the wardrobe, at least until I don't have a better idea and the time to implement it.
This should leave enough space to fit the player's silhouette on the left bar, leaving the right bar empty, except of redundant equipment buttons, which don't seem to have any extra functionality over the clickable tiles already on the left bar. After removing them, there should be enough space to easily fit all the menu commands on the right bar, still working for a mobile users.
And it's not, that those sidebars are really nice, they aren't, but they are less obtrusive than your current menu, and we have them in so many other games here, that many of us have just learned, how to ignore their looks ;) .

2). Make the on-the-main-screen interface less obtrusive and much better looking.
If you are not able to design a nice on-screen interface (and I certainly would not be able to do so myself), then you probably should check some other similar games, and use their design as a starting point. One of the best, that I've recently seen, comes from Panacea. Looking at the screenshot from that game, that I will attach below, the only things, that I would like to be done in a more subtle way, are those 2 square marks "use" and "bed".

I actually removed the enlarging thing last update and the phone has been relegated to a single small bar under the left wardrobe. I have SOME plans for the sidebars, it's just a backburner thing. I plan to make it more dynamic, in the sense that you could modify it yourself, one button displays the avatar, one button displays the image grid, etc. This could remove the right bar entirely. But... That's a project for when I have time and/or money to have someone fix the css for me.

As for checking out Panacea, I'll go do that right now, thanks for the tip.

Update: Checked out Panacea, no thank you. that u.i. looks very "bubbly" and while that works for some, I doubt it would work well for me. Renpy and Sugarcube are very different you see, and implementing that kind of thing into my game would just be a nightmare. And before you ask NO, I am not converting this game to Renpy.

So I guess my major issue with this is it's not a game, it's a virtual novel. There aren't any actual choices to be made. You either play along and do what the fuck your told, or all progression comes to screeching halt. Pretty stupid IMO.

The choices are there, though at the moment they are not very significant. Most of it is probably still in the works, but there's the choice to dom riley or not, and if you say no she makes a comment that hints at future consequences. for the rest i think the creator has made a good choice in prioritizing content over different choices. It makes it so the story has a visible growth, and side-paths can always be added once one story is completed, or at least further along.

it's a balance between giving people the content they want, and making the story more versatile. obvously, you give people what they want first, and expand from there. Or that's what i think anyway, if it stays virtual novel-ish, i won't complain, i like it for what it is.

on that note, anyone willing to share the link for 0.6?

I see the 'Modeling for Lexi unlocks special rewards' hint keeps popping up, but what rewards? I've only ever got cash for it.
Also, with all the fetishes under stats, there isn't one for a shemale or futa character using their cock?

On a new game in 0.6.0, on the first normal day after all the introduction at the beginning I go to the classes in the morning but in the afternoon I can't do anything, all the options are greyed out.

So, you're saying on a fresh save, after doing the intro, you can't access ANYTHING? Can you sleep? Access the wardrobe? Show me a screenshot or something please.

Ahh, well, I was going for a mix between super mobile friendly and super easy to use on the P.C. I think it's "alright" but that's because I've seen my previous U.I.'s, and those were WAY worse. Hint: there's hotkeys for smooth one handed navigation if that's your thing. I had to add those for my carpal tunnel/arthritis (working on the pc all day really fucks you up eventually).

As for "fixing it" yeah, that's why I've been working on the overhaul ;) . If you have any specific things you want changed U.I. wise, let me know. I'm always happy to tweak and change things to the best of my ability. Oh, and if you want to be a tester, just join my discord and tag me, I appreciate all the help and useful feedback I can get.
Some of your earlier interfaces were a lot better (talking purely about the size of images and size and position of the main buttons, rather than the sidebar content, which has been evolving). The relatively modest number of buttons didn't used to take up half the screen. The height of dialogue passages were set by the font height rather than the head images or thought bubble graphics which now mean one line of text can me surrounded by a lot of blank background you have to scroll past. Portrait images didn't extend a full screen height below the interface now taking up the top half of the screen, requiring you to scroll extensively to get down to the next button or dialogue. For example, in the computer porn vanilla category, landscape files like 1.webm fit pretty nicely into the screen layout but portrait files like 3.webm expand to fill the width of the available screen which means they become 2-3x too tall to fit on the screen and become rather grainy. In the study category, 4.webm is distorted out of shape but that appears to be the fault of the file.

It would be good if the lettering before each option could be toggled off, but that's minor compared to the sheer amount of real estate the interface occupies on the screen. It's like having a security doorpad you need to key to enter every few seconds that's three feet wide. Perhaps you don't feel the frustration because you're now navigating using the hotkeys rather than the mouse?

If we could access older versions of the game it would be easier to try out and then refer to the version numbers of ones that we believe looked and functioned better on PC. I struggle to make much headway in the story now because the interface is just drowning out the good stuff, having previously played through the formerly pretty linear story line several times, most recently up to the point when your sorority partner switches from being supportive to being just another abuser. I stopped playing for a long time at that point because it was just too demoralising that your one supportive friend had switched into an oppressor.

The park seems to be an under utilised part of the game still (at least in the early stages I've experimented with) but the images of sexual activity (especially the p.o.v. blowjob) are more confusing now that there's just an image and no context... not even the prior message that the park was a work in progress and the random smut images unimportant.

Riley is odd at the moment. You meet her at orientation, then the next day she says to meet her there tomorrow and you'll have fun. Then there's no sign of her for the rest of the week...

In the Mall clinic you seem to be able to change the size of your penis instantly but there's no indication as to cost.
The deep pink background to your thoughts/dialogue is quite jarring to my eyes. A less vibrant tone would be appreciated.

I'm unsure as to how you got that specific bug... it seems to be a timing issue or something. However, just napping or sleeping seems to fix it for me.

When I do that the next day it happens again, I do the classes in the morning and can't do anything in the afternoon. Also minor thing Riley is in Social Studies now but the text still says Psychology.

Yeah, the text needs changed, and as for the bug... I have no clue man. I've never encountered it and can't recreate it with your save, other than the initial issue. I'll look at the code again later.

Quick question: who is lexi? I'm at the point that all classes say 'you're at the farthest available thanks fro playing', i've maxed out bailey (having sidestepped literally all optional content because i actually hate her guts, good job writerman!), riley (avoiding non-monogamous content, mostly to see if i CAN), and sasha (was briefly introduced to some shadowy lady and that route is now done i guess?), a fourth ??? character who i assume is lexi, john who is currently pretty obviously cheating at cardgames (not really interested in following his route atm), and currently-maxxed faye (who... hates me right now?) and there's nobody to interact with at the mall, gym, or park.
Given comments throughout the thread she's the gatekeeper for female/futa content I'm not sure if there's some obvious route i've missed or if i've somehow made a choice somewhere that has completely locked a character/route out of the game.

i see, thanks. i'd just been working at the diner since it was easily enough to pay off the yet-more-blackmail every monday morning

oh! i should also bring up a small bug in case nobody else has somehow: some character events can push you over the day counter if you start them at 20:00pm, leaving you at 2:00am (bailey's in particular). normally this only leaves the sleep option for the most part, but if you change outfits via the hotkeys it seems to return you to 'idle', re-activating buttons like work, classes, etc without rolling the day over.
this can be done repeatedly, to the point that i'd collected over $10k and completed almost all of bailey's events in a single "friday", working 3 times from 2:00am till 14:00pm to allow the 'people' button to activate, then doing people events until it shunted me back to 2:00am.

other events when started at 20:00pm can break the clock and end you at 32:00, which only allows sleep and cannot be sidestepped by changing outfits like the above (so this is a minor bug at best since it can't be abused as far as i've found, but worth pointing out as well)
