November Progress Update
Getting to November's update early since I completely spaced on October's. Last month was mostly related to the release, and I'm assuming everyone's seen the end result of that already, so I won't bore you with all the nitty-gritty. I will note that the three top items from the extra tasking list were completed: outfit selection for romanced LIs on the character detail screen, toggle for always showing pronunciation text, and updating the animations of Cerys's first QT scene.
Started making adjustments and additions to the script for Part Four. I'd like the update to extend a bit after the ball to wrap up that day before starting Chapter Three, but I also don't want to make it a huge update, so I'll see how the update looks with the revisions/additions to the ball before deciding on that.
In the bad news department, Ren'Py will not be fixing the underlying problem causing the hitch issue with the expression change and scrying stuff. Their official position is that the method I'm using is not supported for videos. It is supplied for music, but Ren'Py treats music and videos as essentially the same thing under the hood, so the same methods/functions that are available for music can technically be used for both, as is the case here. Another developer was kind enough to point out a method that might work for pre-loading the videos, so I'll be looking into that as part of this update. Worse comes to worst, I might have to go digging into the source again to see if it's something I can fix myself. Not something I'd like to do, but I'd find that preferable to abandoning the current form of the expression change and scrying stuff or leaving the issue alone.
