Don't think I could actually disagree with you on that more than I currently do....
I started all of Linnae and Mab in cahoots to promote their own goal as a joke.
The more times I write it, the more I'm starting to see it as plausible.

So either there's something there, or I just completely lost my mind.

Bet you Linnae was the first to receive that video from MC and burnt it to exact her plan for...something. She and Mab are main actors of chaos in this one, just you wait and see.
Oh that is an interesting theory, how did you come to that conclusion, ?
Edit:

Well, it's a mindtrap of our brain, the more you repeat somthing as your reality, the more you convince yourself.
I agree, that in this VN all have their own agenda, and we are to discover which it is for each character, during the journey (same as the MCc)
So yes, much likely that they have their motivation; I'm curious about Mab and why Linnae ?
what did you take as hints ?

Oh boy, here I go explaining voices in my head again.
Initially, as a joke and to stop Kaija/Templars discussion (or try, I failed).

But my reasoning is fairly simple:
You need "villain" on both sides to have effective conspiracy.
On Alfar side, there is literally no one else except Mab. Furthermore, she comes to MC if he kills Finn and is very cryptic.
On Templar side, Stathanator is too obvious. Linnae is not happy with current leadership. She sees them as failing to do what Templars are supposed to be.

So they're provoking engagement for simple goal, to get themselves on top. This still needs some work, because some people need to disappear/be proven incompetent.
Linnae got rid of MCs dad, others are obviously incompetent. Once war begins, she can take reigns to sort shit out.

Mab is an enigma, she's basically already on top, except for king. And if something were to happen to him...well.
Once they're on top, they can start negotiations and have peace again, with themselves on top.

Their ultimate goal is not war, but power.

yes, yes, I'll drink my meds now. BUT THAT'S NOT THE ISSUE!

I'm guessing that very intimidating queen we met are above Medb? (wasn't that Medb's mother).

I'm just having a hard time seeing that any of the potential LI's will turn out to be evil (It would be a very unusual twist to be sure if it happened).

There are 4 LIs, Mab and Linnae are not them :)
They're side chicks at best.

Just think about it.
You need someone we've met so far to be "bad guy". Must be them. I'm telling you!

LOL, sorry I got emotional with Kaija yesterday, although you forced me to reevaluate some aspects of my personality (My Ego) so thankfull on that, even if I was pouting yesterday ;) :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: no hard feelings.

Yes, you have some points there, which I never considered, I have to confess that my Suspicion of Alfar King, and Finacial Council member (Maria is a wildcard) is similar to your theory,

Well, as long as they are getting relationship points ( I mean, Medb got Fin's...) my opinion stands ;)

I have zero doubt that someone we've already met are a bad guy, not those 2 though.

AND NOT KAIJA!!!

as people that lean more towards the incompetence and amorality you suggest as also possible.
Thing what the King of France used to his advantage to take the Order of Knight Templar down, and pressuring the Pope to disolve the order so he could seize their properties and finacials (talking about the historical events) here.

Correct. we are also never explcicitly shown it being done...or sent either. Just to confirm what we have seen as opposed to what we were told would happen.

You have a point Rehw...at this conjecture, anyone could have got it though. From the MC's perspective, who do you think 'we' would pick to receive the message? Would they then pass said message on?
In terms of people I'd trust as MC to receive that message (and excluding main LIs since those are path dependent), probably his sister. She's nearly as much a victim in all of this as the MC is (at least, as far as we know). She'd be able to inform MC's parents as well about it, which would effectively inform the Templars too.

However, I'm not sure how we'd be able to pass it to her without someone else acting as intermediary, since the elves would have to come to our world to deliver it directly. So it'd remain a tricky proposition.

Our lovely Bounty Hunter maybe? (I REALLY need to replay it....)

Yeah, maybe. But I think she bounces before we record the video, and that'd of course cost us more to deliver I'm sure.
As I said, I need to replay but could Medb have facilitated her to take it there? Don't remember the exact turn of events regarding the message.
