It is an eventuality that we cannot exclude, fortunately with multiple routes we can explore multiple approaches
Regardless of the route, the same things happen.

1. Dad still kidnapped.
2. We still almost killed in the street.
3. They very sorry for keeping it from us.

Nothing changes there at all. So again, if dad had not been nabbed, if we had not been almost killed in a street shootout....just how long would they have kept it from us, intentionally....intentionally keeping us in the dark despite the danger we are unknowingly in (because, screw Kaija as a bodyguard, she never damn well around...that is a fact (already confirmed within the story and already causing an issue). And yes, we are unknowingly in danger due to them...fact presented within the story, as we apparently need a bodyguard....

Which conveniently leads to a second question: Is she a bodyguard first or a Templar foot soldier first? :WeSmart:

Unfortunately, when you build a house on a pack of lies and a deck of cards....expect it to come tumbling down...

I had forgotten about the bodyguard role. The parents knew their was a risk and still didn't tell their adult son. By the time the kidnapping happened, telling the MC would have exposed his fake relationship with Kaija. Ceolag did well writing that and how one deception flows to another and to another etc.

Oh a hundred percent for sure. Best written VN around at the moment in my opinion.

Good Point, why we see MC Bodyguard, and not Jess's ? has she even one ? and why MC and not her ? or was it just because MC moved out of his parents home ?

Yeah and also, he keep us busy discusing and argumenting, while he make the next chapter, well played Ceolag well played :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Yeah this game was on my queue for new games to try for long because it hits plenty of check marks I enjoy in games. It has fantasy and a bit of sci-fi, visually seemed good enough for my standards and also hits one of my weaknesses story wise in my fiction reading habits like books that revolves around Religion/Cults/Sects/Politics from the past mixed with a thriller vibe.
Always enjoyed Dan Brown books and most of all José Rodrigues dos Santos books that is the Portuguese "Dan Brown" (or Dan Brown is the American "Rodrigues dos Santos"? ) that goes around those topics and also Cryptology and "riddles solving".

I even suggested this game to a few people on this site that I usually DM to give it a try.

Pretty sure she has one...but maybe, just maybe, she has a competent bodyguard ?
You know, one which is actually doing his job...like being there, not ignoring direct orders and runing of in a fight leaving the person which should be guarded behind, keeping an eye out for her from the shadows and not trying to fuck her...well just my guess

If I remember correctly they didn't really believe that the MC was in danger, but he wanted to keep Kaija away from the front as much as possible due to a promise made to her grandfather

I think if we exclude a relationship with the MC, fighting is Kaija's only reason for existence. He was trying to stop a river with his hands
Did they even try ?
I mean, someone is giving her all those missions she's on all the time...and are you implying Kaija would disobey direct orders

MC is a nepo baby who likes the ignorant life he has while being whatever about everything around him.
The fact MC accepts that his mom is casually socialising with his boss and she can make work place decisions over his head directly to his boss - he accepts that and it means he is used to it without question:
Like Paris Hilton accepting her money came from her parents but her being oblivious to all of it was painfully obvious with MC as well.
MC spent his uni years just chatting his life away with Kaija at the peer, no escalation, no romance, no plans together, no build their life together - if MC ever tried to make something of himself, without falling back on his mom and dad for everything important in his life, the talk about the reality of life in this multiverse of madness would have come to a head sooner.

MC is not ready to become a man - he accepts his mom making job decisions directly over his head with his boss - how much more nepo baby can you be before players see how shallow and uninteresting MC is to himself first and to everyone around?

MC becomes a human shield for Madb one time and suddenly he falls onto three magical macguffins that make him literally impervious to Fina - becomes the casual chat buddy to Nimue who is not talking to MEdb for centuries and MC finds out truths that the Alfar have got all wrong for the longest time - Fin would have died not knowing the truth had MC arrived a couple of days later to her kingdom.
