Are rituals, resurrections and weird non-convencional relations a thing with Marvel? I always thought DC was the more liberal one.
Marvel has a character titled Captain America, and I heard he's... good? So I'd think they'd be more conservative...
Capitalism, amigo. Loving capitalism is just as liberal as it is conservative. They've been just as willing to make Captain America are fascist as they are to make him a freedom fighter to sell comics.

What's M-Day and Civil War? I think I've heard from that Civil War - the movie - how much does it differ from the Comics?
M-Day/House of M/Decimation: Big Marvel crossover event where the Scarlett Witch rewrites reality so that mutants rule the Earth, Magneto is King, and almost all the Superheroes are happier with their lives. At the end of the story when the superheroes show up to stop her, she depowers 90% of the worlds mutants.

Civil War: After a Superhero fight goes out of control and kills a bunch of civilians, the US government enacts a superhero registration law that requires all heroes to reveal their secret identities and powers to the government. This divides the superhero community, the fans, and the staff at Marvel. The movie was much better.

She depowers them and then what? Also, should I watch Civil War? What do you guys think?
Thanks for letting me know, by the way - saves me a bit of time, even if I was interested in reading more.

She depowers the mutants and then I quit reading Comics for over a decade. Sorry dude, you're on your own there.

Civil War the movie is worth watching if you already like Marvel movies. If you don't, I doubt it'll change your mind.

Edit: I do know that they get re-powered at some point.

What's Onslaught Limbo and Days of Future Past? I swear you're just mentioning stuff because you know I'm reading them all.
Ah, sigh. Gimme their issues, will you please?
1. Onslaught is what happened when Xavier absorbed the "evil" in Magneto. He "killed" off every Marvel Super Hero save the X-Men but in reality sent them to pocket dimensions. They eventually came back and Xavier was sent to jail for a short time.

2. Limbo is an alternate dimension in the Marvel comics. A lot of stuff happens and that stuff can be described as bullshit. We'll be adapting some of it but not all.

3. Days of Future Past is based on an alternate timeline: Mystique assassinates the US President and Mutants are hunted down close to extinction. Kitty Pryde has her consciousness sent back in time to help the X-Men stop it.

I'm pleasantly curious as to how Null chooses its interpretation of Laura, clearly she has to go thro' some stuff to be who she is, but how much of goes into her being who she is will be fun to read.
Honestly, we're just cutting the jailbait prostitution and back alley abortions. A lot of her characterization comes directly from the comic book panel. Though to cut down on main story bloat, a lot of other stories are tied to specific girls. So basically their solo comic runs or events where they're the center focus.

That reads like a lot of extra work on your guy's side - please, only if working on the main game gets too underwhelming or after the main six years, yeah?
It's just something I'm doing in my off time. I haven't presented any of it to the team. We're focused on getting you the build while it's still early 2023.

What TEC said.

It depends on who's in charge at the time and which writer is writing his stories.

Captain America originally was made as WW2 propaganda but he was quickly retooled into a face for American Exceptionalism.

There are many instances where when the US Government does something fucked up Marvel likes to write a story where Captain America becomes ashamed of being associated with it and upholds American values. His desire for freedom and liberty is why he took his stance in Civil War.

Or you get edgy writers who think making fun of the guy who quit being Captain America out of shame and became a hero not linked to any government named Nomad is portrayed as a fascist bootlicker.

Though as I said it depends on who is in charge at Marvel at the time and who is writing the character.

Some instances are purely for money, some instances just want to dunk on the USA, and others are genuine in their intent like when Super Man becomes disillusioned with America.

Though that's about as political as I'm willing to get on a porn-pirating website.

That's alright, appreciate your attention - and as for the movie, I figure I'll watch it sometime this weekend.

Only if you watch every Marvel movie before it... With the exception of like Thor 2 and The Incredible Hulk.

People joke that it's "Avengers 3" but it is the culmination of several character arcs.
Yeah, I'm not going to do that, hahahah. But y'know what? I had this conversation, something like, 2 or 3 years ago now, where someone really wanted me to watch Logan and/or the first Wolverine movie so I'll watch both if they're good. Don't have a lot to do this weekend.
What do you think, TEC? I'm asking you as well as Shiny 'cause I got a pretty free weekend.

1. Onslaught is what happened when Xavier absorbed the "evil" in Magneto. He "killed" off every Marvel Super Hero save the X-Men but in reality sent them to pocket dimensions. They eventually came back and Xavier was sent to jail for a short time.

1 - That sounds cool.

2 - That doesn't sound cool. What from the story that has a lot of bullshit happen in it are you adapting?

3 - This alternate timeline stuff is really popular, isn't it?

Honestly, we're just cutting the jailbait prostitution and back alley abortions. A lot of her characterization comes directly from the comic book panel. Jailbait prostitution... oh my. You guys keep making me laugh today, hm?
Keeping an eye on story bloat is important, being honest about it is even more.

It's just something I'm doing in my off time. I haven't presented any of it to the team. We're focused on getting you the build while it's still early 2023.
Amem. Hopefully before april ends.

Though that's about as political as I'm willing to get on a porn-pirating website.
I honestly only have political ideals to say about what came before this line, but I think some sort of restraint is needed.

My Null Solo adventures sequel.

Jokes aside I also stopped reading comics around this time. I'm playing catch-up on a lot of stuff. I mean almost all of my experience with X-23 before now as X-Men Evolution and the Logan movie.

Since we're not adapting the story, for now at least, I'm not willing to do the research to give a comprehensive and easy-to-understand answer to this question.

where someone really wanted me to watch Logan
Fantastic movie. I highly recommend watching the first three X-Men movies for added context and it's a lot less screen time than what's needed to understand the MCU.

the first Wolverine movie
I highly discourage this. It's not needed to appreciate the originals or Logan.

For context. Fox wanted to do a series of X-Men solo movies. It did so poorly that they canceled all plans for the solo films.

It will actually confuse you if you take my advice and watch the first three X-Men movies.

Nice, releasing in cinemas along Null, I assume.

The way she looks in Evolution is uh, interesting. I've seem so many interpretations of her since getting interestered in the character.

Guessing you mean from Limbo? Yeah, figured.

They any good? I've never, not even once, heard anything from them.

Gotcha, only Logan and the first three. Figure I watch 'em in order? What are the first three X-Men movies?

Yes

X-Men
X2
X-Men: The Last Stand
Logan

Last Stand is the best and worst of them. Fans either hate it or love it. I'm in the middle. I think it's a good conclusion to the trilogy. It's at least better than Dark Phoenix was to the Simon Kinberg movies.

Nah. M-Day.
Ah, right. Well, it's alternative story-line crap so I don't blame you, I'd never touch it where I had any sort of power in a project.
I have, once, but it was 100% only for fun with the people I wrote with - it never went further than that.

X-Men
X2
X-Men: The Last Stand
Logan

Right... now I go and search for 'em. Thanks.

In another set of silly questions, who's your favourite character from the X-men, Shiny? Will they make an appearance - will they be different?

That is a hard question to answer.

I'm actually bisexual and if I had to choose it would be... Maybe Nightcrawler?

Though you won't be able to bang him.

So maybe Rogue?

Will they make an appearance
Yes.

will they be different?
Sort of. Our Nightcrawler and Rogue are much younger than they were in the main timeline. 18 and 19 respectively.

While we have had to move things around, I'm sticking with the head writer and ensuring that characters are as comic-faithful as we can get. Though even within the same continuity some writers can show drastic changes in temperament within a short time span.

One of the most obvious differences would be Jean Grey. We're kinda leaning into how stressful her situation is at the point in the timeline we're choosing to start with. She'll be a little neurotic in chapter 1 in a manner that comic readers may not be 100% familiar with. As I said before, you can encourage or discourage character quirks. Both help her with her anxiety. Discouraging her quirk will make her more comic faithful. Encouraging it will make her... Well I don't want to spoil. ;)

I remember him, yeah. Cute guy, too bad about the lack of options in having some sexy time with him but hey, maybe he's the x-bro you were talking about? That'd be cool, I love smut games that have friends - personally, I wish all smut games had an option to have the girl you want to pursue be your close friend first.
Why do you like Nightcrawler? Why is Rogue the second pick?

Wow, nice. Getting me curious to see what Laura's quirk will be.

I just thought of this as I was looking for a place to download the movies from - I found one but they're all in uncompressed large .mp4 files so they'll take a day or so - but I figure it's another line of questions I could ask to get a better understanding of the universe.

We're an outsider coming in - we as the player - but how much of the inside is known to people like us? Civillians? Of course, we have the news telling us stuff that is clear, happening. Will that be a choice thing?

Well prepare to love this one as the MC will have two bros to hang out with platonically. They'll give tips on how to play the game, advice on dating girls, and the chance to discuss ongoing events.

I wish all smut games had an option to have the girl you want to pursue be your close friend first.
Most stories will be able to be completed with out romantically pursuing someone. Such as Kitty's Days of Future's Past.

You can friendzone every girl in the game without having sex once. At least that's our goal.

It's mainly for players who want to be monogamous with their favorite X-Gal.

I've mentioned this before but I know searching is a pain but there are three ways to enter a relationship.

1. Show romantic interest and begin dating them immediately.

2. Show only a friend's interest. You can progress into romantic and characters will be like "You've been such a good friend, sure I'll give it a shot."

3. Ignore them entirely until you get to the sandbox. They'll be like. "I know we don't know each other all too well but after everything you've done for the X-Men I'm willing to give us a chance."

2 and 3 will be harder to gain their trust and it'll take more time to get into their pants.

Also, some girls won't be virgins if you ignore them for six or seven years. Considering a handful will be in their early 30s and late 20s by the end of the game it'd be a tad unrealistic.

Girls won't put their lives on hold because you chose to ignore them for almost a decade. We have a "pool" of events to draw from. They'll exist during a number of semesters. Like if you don't help Kitty with the Days of Future's Past story, someone else will have. Mystique isn't going to patiently wait for you to stop her from killing the president and that bit of story needs to be out of the way before she enters the sandbox herself.

But this is one of the reasons that the player is given the choice when to progress to another semester. We don't want to rush you.

It's for replayability as well. We already have an NG+ planned out where if you've done a girl's content, you can click on a checkbox and skip to the next chapter and the characters will behave as if you did their quest.

Why do you like Nightcrawler? Why is Rogue the second pick?
I mainly prefer men over women.

All you'll need is a very face-value familiarity with the marvel universe. Chapter 1 focuses heavily on setting up the world.

Many characters will also give you information on missions you're not ranked enough to go on and there will be news and characters commenting on what other people such as The Avengers and Fantastic Four are doing while you're attending class at Xavier's.

Two bros? Three good friends, a handful of amigos - nice, I can't wait. They should 100% give you advice on stuff.
And comment on some of your choices maybe? I mean, you get to have something with a teacher, a girl with regenarative features, a girl with mind control and a girl who has to wear gloves because of her touch - if any of my friends ever did any of these things I'd call them crazy. Especially if I knew the girls.
Also, any sort of dialogue about how you impregnated a girl would be greatly appreciated. Bros know that's like the end of a man's career of being a good close dude-bro and a good bro would at least show some reservations about the whole ordeal.

Most stories will be able to be completed with out romantically pursuing someone. Such as Kitty's Days of Future's Past.

The idea sounds great, I mean, if the story changes my perspective on a character I'm not particularly fond of, then it will be.
Giving me a character I don't like, then making them change - with not only me but the rest of the cast warning up to them - to then have me want to feel some sort of connection, tho'... that's a thrifty task.
Can be done, tho'. I didn't like Arthur a lot when RDR2 started, thought we'd be getting another John and we already had a Joh so why bother - but he ended up really good. Same with Joel in TLoU.
I'm keeping my expectations to a reasonable level, however. I don't know how good any of you are at doing stuff like that, hah.

First one seems like it's missing a few steps, care to explain it further?

2 and 3 will be harder to gain their trust and it'll take more time to get into their pants.
As it should be, don't make a compromise if you want us to feel like we're getting a challenge, with pushback and something of a stake on a gal we want.

Also, some girls won't be virgins if you ignore them for six or seven years. Considering a handful will be in their early 30s and late 20s by the end of the game it'd be a tad unrealistic.
That'd be welcomed, really. It's often played to a boring-extent, this virginity card on smut games, but if you make it something you can avoid or let happen... that's good game design.

Mystique isn't going to patiently wait for you to stop her from killing the president and that bit of story needs to be out of the way before she enters the sandbox herself.
Wow, spoilers dude. I'm trully interested in how you'll do that one, it sounds rather political - and one-sided in the way, you don't get to let her just kill the president.

Many characters will also give you information on missions you're not ranked enough to go on and there will be news and characters commenting on what other people such as The Avengers and Fantastic Four are doing while you're attending class at Xavier's.
I was gonna say that having the world continue around you - with the main setting of the game, a teaching location, reacting to it, talking about it in a manner of education - would be nice. Having a teacher leave in middle of class because the world's ending'd be a good fun little side-thing too.

Will I be able to both help kitty and also mystique? Or will the game force me to choose one of the events. I dunno if these 2 events occur at the same time - I'm just asking in general about whether doing one gal's event stop me from doing another gal's event (I'm asking because you talked about including NG+)

In regards to X-men movies worth watching, I recommend the first two, Logan, First Class, and Days of Future Past. The Deadpool movies are also fun, but probably not relevant to this game.

Or you get edgy writers who think making fun of the guy who quit being Captain America out of shame and became a hero not linked to any government named Nomad is portrayed as a fascist bootlicker.
How do you make a stateless character a fascist? or even a bootlicker? whose boots? how?
edit: I'm being incredulous, you don't have to answer that. unless Nomad shows up in the game.
