never like this couple, even from old comics. This ruin my x-men 97 exp, didnt watch this show bcs this stupid gamb/rogue/mag triangle. the reason why mag can touch her is so fucking dumbass as hell. magnetic fields....

Actually Rogue's powers don't work on babies... for reasons I'm not aware of.
She was in a coma once and Mystique tried using a baby to wake her up.
I also don't know why Mystique thought absorbing a baby would wake her up.
Point being is that Rogue's power didn't work on babies.
Although even in earlier comics it was implied, and several years later confirmed, that Rogue's inability to turn her powers off was trauma induced in how she manifested them when kissing her middle school crush.
She's had the ability to touch people without harming them for several IRL years now. I am genuinely shocked some writer hasn't had her cheat on Gambit.
I hate to be that guy but it's actually scientifically sound. We can't actually "touch" each other on an atomic level and since magnetism is an atomic reaction, it makes perfect sense that Magneto could "touch" Rogue without consequence.

Hoo boy... Where to begin with this...
Rogue was infected with Strain 88, a virus that boosted her powers to where they became an instant death touch. During the story arc, Rogue's mind was nearly destroyed by the psyches of billions of entities that were stored in there. Between the jigs and the reels, Rogue ended up in a coma for the last part of the arc.
Mystique, in some sick and twisted sense of motherly love, abducted the infant Hope Summers with the help of Mr Sinister and his Marauders. Mystique understood that in order for Rogue to be cured of her psychic and physical infections, everything needed to be purged, so she pressed the baby Hope's face to Rogue's cheek. Yes, Mystique was willing to murder a baby for Rogue.
Now, here's the thing, one of Hope's powers is Power Mimicry, with a subset of that being Power Absorption Immunity. Hope was immune to Rogue's powers.
Rogue woke up, cleared and cured of her ailments and her mind clear for the first time in years...and beyond furious that Mystique was willing to murder a baby in Rogue's name.
It wasn't that Rogue's powers don't work on babies, it was that the baby was immune to Rogue anyway.
true. i hope they do a remake, have it like the original( same story premise) just have it take place now and go back to the 80"s instead.

Y'know, I kinda wanna replay the game anyway because it's been a while, and I've only opened up the game for the desktop wallpapers and to provide tech support. The last time I actually played the game for enjoyment was months before I got the brilliant idea to try to troll the randos with '97 for cheating on Rogue, which turned out to be both a way bigger and long-lasting clusterfuck than I expected, but now feels like the right time to replay the game for actual enjoyment.
...Though now I'm questioning how much of Rogue was inspired by Boot's wife, and I'm considering naming Null after Erik Lehnsherr.
