I've played Space Journey X and I enjoyed it very much, although a bit grindy...
Now I'm playing this one but I had an issue with my pc and, on the one I'm using, the pictures appear like the photo attached...
Any ideas?
Try updating video drivers if at all possible . If it's a 32bit version you might try running it in a 32 bit mode as Ace suggested above . But the bigger issue is that windows 7 is horribly outdated at this point . Patching it would involve more work then just picking up an old office PC that is newer .

Thanks man! I know it's really outdated, it was an old work pc that hadn't been turned on for years!
Simple solution: buy a new one just for personal use.

I wasn't trying to shame or be elitist, not everyone wants to buy the latest and greatest. But you can get some pretty decent stuff on the used market. And some of the phased out office pc's are still more then usable at a more then fair price tbh.
Sadly there's a lot of planned obsolescence baked into software nowadays ...
Case and point just look at the Windows 11 system req.

I think because your computer hasn't been on in years it is now corrupted. I play all my games on my desk top and it runs windows 7. I find newer games or games that update the game engine to a version that doesn't support Windows 7 my only downfall, which is fine. I've got lots to play.

I'm stuck on freeing the captive.
What's the name of the crystals in the sequence?
The code for the contraption (left to right) Exchange-Scrying-Sublimation or purple-orange-green. It is the same code for operating the contraption at base. Displayed on the contraption (yellow means orange )
I have more detailed post in here

i may just be dumb but can't open the belt on the Princess
The codes I posted earlier
Still you need to progress in the story and unlock the research first.
More details in the walkthrough in the first post.
Edit: Oh I just realized you mean the minigame .Well I deleted the game. Lemme download it again first.
Edit2: Well since I'm not sure which step you are stuck at, I will simply write simplified steps.
  1. Unlock research for combination (1-4)
  2. Go to Princess's room
  3. Click "use item" and choose "Lockpick", an easy to acquire item
  4. Choose unlocked combination (1-4). You can still find/click locked combos but MC will notify you that you haven't unlocked it yet
  5. Pay favor cost
  6. Mini game
    1. First box is for lockpick item (mentioned above)
    2. Keys j/k/l/i and space for directional moves and confirm (you can use cursor directional keys too)
    3. Basically you have unlimited time here to use keys above to align the code you discovered early from the research (also in the above linked post)
    4. Ignore top two rows, you just need to align bottom row (left to right) with the correct type/color
    5. Click Open which will either make a beep if it is incorrect or move into scene
No you are not dumb, it is poorly explained. I struggled with this one too.

I see how you got stuck there. The save file helped a lot.
Basically you studied all three contraptions without saving any captives.
The game basically advanced you to next quest and that is why you think nyx is part of the first quest.

You need to save the captives at the same time as studying the contraption. Basically three visits, three blueprints, three captives. Edit: You know to study the contraption before saving the captive for a perfect three visits only quest completion.

If you have an older save file, before getting the last (3rd) blueprint, go from there and save 3 captives before studying the last blueprint. Otherwise, restart the game maybe? I have a save file before this quest you can use (page 18 in the saves)

For nyx part (from your save), you have to go to the dungeon yourself (in the tower) and go to the bottom. There you will find the tome of the wisdom after solving the puzzle (riddle answers in the walkthrough.) Then you can craft her disguise and go with her to the burrows. But you can't proceed because when you talk to gwyen she is still waiting for the milking part of the first quest. So that was that. Not a solution but just wanted to mention it.

For tips on how to escape after saving a captive. Basically use a lot of spectral bombs, around 10-15 per attempt. What you need to do is plant a spectral bomb and let them walk into you while you are standing on top of the a spectral bomb. You can walk towards an adjacent wall which will make you stand still while enemy advance a step. Rinse and repeat, and you can exit with using only 10-15 spectral bomb. Note: does not work with normal bombs.

The code for the contraption (left to right) Exchange-Scrying-Sublimation or purple-orange-green. It is the same code for operating the contraption at base. Displayed on the contraption (yellow means orange )

Good luck and let me know if reloading an old save file or using the save file I shared worked.
The dev has a newer and more polished game called Space Journey.
Space journey better?

Space journey better?
I don't know if discussion of another game is appropriate here.
However, the answer is yes. It has more reviews + higher rating + won voting with 4.5k voters for SJ cont. (top of SJ thread)
Both games are done by the same developer, who is very active in this forum, but space journey is the latest.

I feel like even some small parts of SJ, like building robots is done so well, it was a lot more fun and well designed than most games centered around building robots. Like you can literally just cut and use that part of the game as its own separate game and it will still be better than most build-your-own-robots games. The economy was well designed and balanced. Combat was also good.

With that being said, I still enjoyed the princess so much, it was a memorable and fun experience.

Allow me to chime in here. ;)

Princess was my first game ever so I did probably not do a lot of user guidance /guardrails/quest system with hints/gallery/achievements etc. and it might be a bit rough around the edges.

I finished it rather quickly a year or so and applied what I learned to Space Journey X. I am glad it shows in the reception of my second game :)

I hope you could still enjoy parts of this game (Princess).

It was this game that directed me to Space Journey X, and it is very obvious that SJX has much more refinement from lessons learnt, and I'm enjoying it very much. However, I would love you to continue "The Princess and the Tower" with a continuation of the journey. I understand you probably have little interest in this which is a shame.

I had the impression that goblin mc games were quite limiting the potential audience appeal. Also, the game concept with the goblin lends itself to a NTR-ish game type which also might not have mass appeal...

Personally I'd like to continue it some day (Grex and Nyx on there Road getting in all kind of adventures...)

I would love to have it continued. But not for Grex or Nyx, but for the princess ofc.
There is still so much possible content, since she got rid of this belt. Like having the real feeling on the wooden horse (she wished to feel it when she still had the belt). And so many other possible stuff. The princess is the one who is worth a continuation. Pls pls...

Btw. Goblin mc stories (and Goblin npc as well) are quite famous among players.
One of the popular ones (X-Dew) did a poll, and 90% of the supporters preferred a Goblin mc over a Human mc.

The problem is, a person is more likely to be vocal about something s/he doesn't like than about something s/he likes. This creates an illusion of great opposition, because the praise you get is drowned among he criticism.

Look around this site. There's a pretty vocal anti-NTR community here. In fact, they are a minority, but because they're vocal and active, they can be perceived as majority.

In other words, any criticism you get should go straight to your trash folder - unless it's constructive, showing you a clear way to fix your game. At the same time, any praise you get should get printed, framed, and hung above your monitor, to fuel you for the coming years.

Did not even think we have here antiNTR community.
I agree with the above.
And want too add.
Do what YOU like and what YOU want. And this best way to good game.
If it about money just do survey from your fans. Who big chance buy your games.
