Unfortunately I think the progression is stuck then, if you didn't do the first Sami scene then you can't unlock the second one. I don't really know what causes the game to bug and not unlock old scenes, I think someone else in this thread was suspicious that after Emi gets added to the party is when the game gets bugged and stops unlocking some of the older scenes.

This was a bug in version 0.9.0, make sure you have version 0.9.1 downloaded and you should be able to stop looping the leg kissing scene. There will be another 2 Val scenes after that and then Sami's scene will be accessible.

If you haven't already, download 0.9.1.
Follow the instructions in the "Lighting Problems Fix" folder.

I wonder what the explanation for all this will be?

Proxxie has already admitted fault, not that this is necessary given the 16 month wait, but I just wonder if he will try to save face given his ridiculous behavior, or if he will display some self awareness and promise to be better in clear cut terms.

If he gives anyone who is in the business of cutting him "slack" an inch he will damn himself in the process.

I hope he has the self awareness to say, "I fucked up horribly and anyone who says otherwise is misguidedly harming me as an artist and a person."

Otherwise get ready for a *#$% month update.

OK, so Proxxie just released a post, (partially) explaining why the update took so long.
TL;DR
Basically, Proxxie got real fucking offended that people had the NERVE to stop their subscriptions to him on Patreon, after he took almost a year to put out the 0.8 update, causing him to almost give up on the project entirely, and not really work that much on it. (He also apprently used a lot of his time on projects and plugins for the game that never made it in/he didn't use anyways)
Atleast he admits that the reason people confronting him for the time taken in the 0.8 update and/or then unsubbed from the patreon weren't doing it to be dick, but because they wanted to see more frequent updates. But initially, he took the criticism as a personal slight against him. This might explain why he banned so many people from his discord whom asked him why the update was taking so long.

"The main point of this post, though, is to look back on the 0.9 release and release cycle. What went right? What went wrong? Where's the game going?

The first thing to address is: why did it take so long? This is a question I asked myself often. I can't really think of a time when I wasn't doing something on the release, but it still just never seemed to get done. The release was quite long - far longer than I thought it would be - and that's part of it, but not really sufficient to explain it. There are a lot of little reasons, but if I had to cover most of them with one word I'd say: "burnout."

The 0.8 release cycle was fairly acrimonious, and I pushed quite hard to get it done, especially the last couple of months. The conflicts I had with people toward the end had started to sort of sour my enthusiasm for the project. Added to that, I really, really liked 0.8! I thought it was some of my best work, but... it wasn't as financially successful as previous releases. This stung a bit... I shouldn't have, but I took it a little personally, and this further eroded my enthusiasm.

That was silly, of course. It wasn't a dispassionate judgment of the quality of my work, it's just that the most important thing in a project like this (revenue-wise) is momentum, and I'd lost quite a bit in the long 0.8 release cycle. People want to see regular releases, which is quite understandable. But I took it at the time as a judgement.

Being a little dejected, I decided to work on parts of the game that wouldn't require so much of my... well, soul. New features, H-scenes, refinements of character models, that sort of thing. Transmogrification, character view, a Clothing States plugin I didn't even use - and you don't want to know how much time I spent working on the Bunnies' hair! I figured I'd get back to the more meaningful story stuff once I was feeling more enthusiasm for the project. But... the longer I stayed away from the story, the less I felt.

I didn't stop writing completely, but it was in disjointed bits widely separated in time. Most of it was awful, of course, and much of what wasn't awful was wrong for the game. I threw away almost all of it.

I'm not sure exactly when it was, but at some point I started going back through my original notes, the ones I made when I was working on 0.1. I began to remember what I was trying to do with the game, my vision for it, and that started to get me excited about it again. After that - and I'm not sure which happened first - I worked out a lot of the long-term plot and did a complete playthrough of the game.

The playthrough helped a lot. I didn't remember most of what I'd done very clearly, so it was almost like I was playing someone else's game. And I loved it! It made me appreciate that the game really is something special, and it deserves to be finished.

I also worked out the plot. Prior to this, I had some vague, general ideas about where I wanted it to end up, but no real plan of how to get there, or even exactly where "there" was. This was a problem; when I sat down to do something on the story, I didn't really know what it was I ought to be doing. Strolling around through the subplots is nice, but eventually you need to head somewhere - preferably somewhere interesting. So I looked at my original ideas, thought about the themes I wanted to explore, looked at what had been done so far in the game, and came up with something I actually feel pretty good about. I don't have everything planned out in detail - nor do I want to! You need to leave a little room for serendipity, after all - but I now have a map.

Reinvigorated by these two projects, I got back to the work of writing. It was rough going at first, but I eventually managed to find my groove again. It took a bit of time - especially with the recruiting quest - but eventually I ended up with something I was happy with.

Now, there were other issues, including some personal ones I'd planned to get sorted out (which were put on hold by the lockdowns,) but if there's a narrative to be told, that's probably it. There's a number of things left to say about the release cycle - including how to keep it from taking so long in the future - but this post is long enough, so I'll end it here.

I want to thank you sincerely for your support, especially those of you who stuck with me all this time. I'm sure many thought the project was dead - and it did almost die - but a huge part of what kept me going was thinking of all of you who continued to support it and wanted to see it succeed. Thank you."

Don't wanna preach to the choir so not gonna say much about how much time the update took.

Talking just about the quality of the update, I definitely enjoy the current state of the game, the comedy is as good as ever and I enjoy the light-heartedness of it, story does feel like it might be going somewhere again so I appreciate Proxxie is addressing that (combined with the long release times the perceived stagnation of the story definitely soured me a bit on 0.7 and 0.8 despite the merits of those updates), the combat is now actually kinda fun, and the sex scenes are very hot.

If I had to complain about the last updates I think it would boil down to just two things:

First, and this is more a technical issue and not really related to the new content, the early game combat is still very dull and drawn out. I can appreciate the very simplified mechanics being there for the purpose of having more room for development throughout the story, but they make replaying the early game a drag. I think a reduction of the number of mobs in the early dungeons would be interesting, or if Proxxie wants a more technical solution, maybe look into a battle speed-up plug-in (i.e ). I like the battle animations but when I have to watch the same two of them like 8 times per battle I would love to be able to speed them up.

Second, I do feel that as a porn game, it would be nice to sprinkle some more sexyness here and there. This is not talking about the quality of the H-scenes, those are amazing and I love how detailed and well made they are, but more about the issue of sometimes having long dry-streaks of no sexual content. I liked all the bunny's quests but Val's was the only one that had anything even remotely pervy in it. Wouldn't mind if more sexual situations arose around them to spice it up a bit (maybe Ren's direwolf being a bit horny like the wargs in the kennel). Another idea for tackling those dry-streaks would be to maybe include very simplified repeatable sex scenes with Ana, just a single picture with some small description like "and so they spent the night together" when the MC uses a bed to sleep, just to keep the mood of the game from getting too platonic.

Proxxie actually agrees with both of your points, which is why he's saying he's going to push out a smaller update that won't feature much in the way of new story, but will instead focus on revamping the combat system, and add another sex scene instead. He's saying it'll come out in "about" 2 months.

If spiritless content that doesn't require emotional investment into the game is somehow easier and quicker for him, then it will hopefully serve as practice for having a normal release schedule.

But I want to see results.

He owes it to the audience, the game, and himself to not suck absolute ass at making this game.
