I think he should put more effort in the build up but I disagree that he needs to listen to the customer.

The issue with it is that he is taking money. I would agree with all points if he was doing it solo with no cash flow then nobody, not even those who are constantly talking bad about him in particular, could say nothing. But, he has a patron. And that means whether he admits it or not he has to take certain things into mind. Sure people are getting their refunds and such but, that still doesnt change the people who are still paying. Ignore them long enough. Or piss off enough and production stops. Or takes longer.
This is the point you are missing, if they are still giving him money he has no incentive to change his ways. It doesn't matter if his product is on patreon if he is giving you what he tells you he is giving you. Paying or not paying go ahead and criticize, but as long as people are buying what he is selling than it doesn't matter if he cuts corners.

Honestly the MC shouldn't have gotten cold feat the minute his mom pushed back. He should've kept insulting her without letting her get a word in.
