First off, we have an important announcement: The Symbiant's release date has been pushed to February 2023.

This new release date will allow us to really polish the game up while we're both dealing with our day jobs and family lives. Having said that, February would still be 2 months earlier than the hard limit we set to ourselves: April 2023!

Progress status:

• Writing & editing: 38/38 (100%)
• Character & BG art: 33/33 (100%)
• Programming: 38/38 (100%)
• Voice acting: 30/38 (79%)
• Audio engineering: 23/38 (61%)
• Quality assurance: 0/38 (0%)

Voice acting
We made good progress in terms of voice-over since the last update. For Danya and Juniper we are still missing about 40% each of recorded scripts. All of the recordings have been submitted for Brahve, and we're only missing a few retakes. Juniper's voice actress is still in the process of settling in her new home; we hope to receive all the voice-over we need by the end of the month. Kudos to our audio engineer who keeps chipping away at all the lines we're throwing at him as we receive them and select our takes!



Programming
Fable finally inserted the last scene scripts into the game! While this is quite the milestone for us, keep in mind that it's only half of the job, code-wise: we still need to code in the voice acting and sound effects, as well as code other parts such as the music room, re-doing our credit rolls, correct possible bugs, etc...

Beta: version 0.6.1
The latest available beta covers the game up to scene 24, right into the first route of the game! As usual, it is available for Kickstarters backers in the $160 CAD tier and patrons in the $20 tier.

I wish there was a slower build up of the main relationship. It all happens too rapidly for my taste. I guess I'm used to Japanese games where it often takes half the game before the first kiss. That may be slower than I'd like but this game has the opposite issue. Obviously it is just a matter of preference, but I prefer a lot of romance and sexual tension before the pay off. Here, the MC acts like a teenage horndog who almost immediately falls in love/lust.

More seriously, that is a very fair criticism. The Symbiant as its core was my friend and I being self-indulgent and making something short and hopefully quality that we could afford paying.

The other day, I saw a Thai Vtuber let's play of The Symbiant on Youtuber. A closer look at the main screen showed me that this was, in fact, a pirated build. More precisely, the 0.5.7 build, which is a good couple months obsolete.

So I messaged that dude on Twitter to ask him whether he knows any Thai translator. Wish me luck!

I wonder who is going to upload The Symbiant to IGG on February? Will Darksiders upload a crappy crack of the Steam version like the did for a bunch of visual novels? Will some of your guys from F95 upload one of our "X" version? Or who knows, a chad from itchio will actually upload an actual, "N" version build! Anyone wanna place bets?

I guess since this sites host games of all kind of orientations, maybe they like your art-style but not into the contents? It's one of the most important factors of a porn game, and your arts are very high quality.

Tho You'd thought people here would be more open to Variety.
At least you are not getting "Is gay avoidable" like in all other gay game threads .

I had no idea the character was female, I noticed the characters appearance and appreciated the artwork and was disappointed you could not be with them in game that's it. It had nothing do do with anything asking about heterosexual sex in the game. Way to jump to conclusions.

some people dont even read tags of the game or reading the description of the game, i would say some people are too lazy to read or some are into your art is why they get attracted to your game.
