This is one of the things that really confuses me about Patreon's rules, and the rules concerning depictions of incest in porn generally. Patreon is a US-based company, as are many of the porn studios that trade in 'stepcest' content that has proliferated in the industry in the last 5-10 years. Their concerns are therefore over enforcement of US laws regarding this type of content....... but letter-of-the-law, there are a very many jurisdictions in the US where 'stepcest' is also statutorily prohibited as if it was bloodline-incest. So it seems like it's more of an appearances policy than an actual legit legal concern.

And just to add to the confusion, other games (like Girl Gone Bad for example) feature actual incest but manage to get away with it without patreon threatening to pull the plug.

But the Twist is one of those games that is subject to patreon scrutiny and presumably it will continue to be like that so long as KST is making money from it.

almost +200 subscribers since the release, so despite to all the arguments against, the author won financially. So it is unlikely that he will cancel the login/save system.

I personally do not mind the pay wall, but do not like the idea that KsT wants to get my personal information as soon as I allow to connect the game with Patreon.

You do know he has that info already right ??
If you have pledged to people on patreon they have that info already but they still need to tell you all that anyway.

It's possible to put it back as it was on the 0.35 but it's a fucking ants' job. Obfuscator use.
There's a way to hack into him, but we might as well leave this game dead.

If you're not a patron then download version 0.35 and run it once. Go to registry editor by typing "regedit" into run dialog or finding it in "system tools" folder in your start menu ("windows administrative tools" folder in windows 10). While there navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software and find KstGames "folder" on your left. Right click on that folder and click "export", then save that file to your desktop (name it twist or something) or somewhere where you'll be able to find it. When you're done with all that, run 0.36 and start a new game. Skip intro and when you get that "day one - after school" screen alt-tab to desktop and run the file you saved on your desktop or wherever. When prompted to overwrite, click yes. Now alt-tab back into 0.36 and click "skip day" and you will load.
Saving works the same way. Before quitting 0.36, alt-tab to desktop and run registry editor. Find KstGames "folder" on your left and export it to desktop and name it something else like "twistsave1" or something like that to distinguish your "save games". Then quit the game without saving. Next time you want to "load" you have to start a new game again and do the thing from above.

As usual USA is a hypocrite... Incest, step-family content is ok and supported by CC companies because the American porn industry makes billions of dollars annually with it. Porn games on the other hand are bad... Reason: Unknown.

While what you write is undoubtedly true and accurate, it is what is referred to as "a distinction without difference". It doesn't really matter if you can play the new content without saving, because you will be forced to play the new content from each new update with each subsequent update, on a rolling basis. So you play .36 and it is good, yay. Then when .37 comes out, you will have to re-play the .36 stuff again to progress to the .37 stuff. And when .38 comes out you will have to re-play the .36 and .37 stuff to get to the new .38 stuff, and so on.

This is a boneheaded move by KsT, on par with the anti-cheats installed by WifeTrainer in the last RAGS update of that game.

You both are missing the point I was making in response to the posts made previously.

It was suggested that you didnt need to be a Patreon, but in fact what was said was not specific to what they meant by a Patreon. Was just an account of Patreon enough, or actually being a patreon to KST as well. Thats the point I was trying to highlight and the latter is what is needed.

Make no mistake, I get the issue and peoples complaints totally, but people needed to stop flaming and stating things work, when in fact they dont and not stipulating the real issue properly.

Nope, Patroen has my personal information but do not share them with the developer. Dev gets my user name and my email address, but not my first and surname.

Of course if I use my private email address, e.g. John.Smith@googlepoop.com Dev will know my real name, but who really use his private email account and not one of his dummy accounts??

Patreon already sharing the email address from supporters with a developer is disturbing and should be handled as Amazon does. As soon as you contact the seller through Amazon they will mask your real email address behind one of their own. Means, seller's and customer's real address is hidden and "protected".

This is some kind of deja vu It already was done by DeepSilver for Big Brother and it was not effective way to protect the game. Just materner of time. Yes its disappointing but its not solution for this kind of problem.

Can you tell me more about it? I started to play The Twist from 0.35 for the first time and know that performance isn't good at all (currently at the beach cosplay content with Billy), but is it getting worse the more I progress in the game?

I read a lot of forum pages that relate to 0.36 ... this is hard.
However, I still did not see a clear answer, is this a temporary solution with Patreon? Does this apply only to v0.36 Beta 1? Is it at all?
Basically it is not clear what exactly is happening.
