I read a lot of forum pages that relate to 0.36 ... this is hard.
However, I still did not see a clear answer, is this a temporary solution with Patreon? Does this apply only to v0.36 Beta 1? Is it at all?
Basically it is not clear what exactly is happening.

almost +200 subscribers since the release, so despite to all the arguments against, the author won financially. So it is unlikely that he will cancel the login/save system.
it's all about money
To be accurate he's had 88 subscribers since the update to v.36 beta. Checked patreon page at release he had 1044 subcribers now its 1132. Its less than 200 but I agree he's won financially by $400 or so in just 24 hours (previously made a little over $4600 per month if I recalled when I looked at it on new release).

Yeah, some people from here will eventually pay for the game, but i don't expect that to be constant in the long run. One thing is to play an unpolished game for free and give feedback, other is to pay for it. Well, i hope that when he releases 0.37, he at least removes the connection wall from 0.36.

Can you tell me more about it? I started to play The Twist from 0.35 for the first time and know that performance isn't good at all (currently at the beach cosplay content with Billy), but is it getting worse the more I progress in the game?
A lot of players have been reporting graphics issues (long load times, hangs, stuttering, etc) for most of the game's life. I personally didn't start having any such issues until maybe v0.32 or so. But I'm now at the point where it takes me close to an hour of actual time to play an update that's got perhaps 12-15 minutes of content, and I've had multiple instances where the game was hitting my quad core processor so hard that the machine up and shut itself down due to overheating.

We see how this unfolds in month or two, as what is the point of pirate supply of game releases going forward here, if those are patrons only. Pirate community will be fighting back with cracks. If developer wins at some point, thenTwist will fade out, as this is also largest gaming/development forum, so what is the point publishing here product, that only patrons can use :) I guess a lot of legit patrons will question this move, as this change seems not advertised widely, and may reconsider their sympathy to this project.

Well, this is interesting.
I'm curious about the full content of his last patreon post if anyone minds sharing it. Did he mention anything anwhere about the new save system ?
If not it still may be a beta thing or stay temporary.
I don't see any dev implement such update without even mentioning it to my clientele.

Now, although I agree that as a pirate forum we have zero rights to complain, and KST gives zero fucks about us, one thing remains : This forum among other pirate structures with porn torrent trackers etc makes a popular game. A game can be very good, full of content, with steady updates and taking players' suggestions in consideration, if you make it, post it and no one sees it, you have zero patrons. Period.

So yeah maybe KST doesn't want us to rip him off anymore, and maybe other devs will follow his lead, but in the end, without F95, they would probably have ended their carreer early.

Not to be cocky or anything, but facts. That's why I still appreciate DS for posting offline versions of his game.
