I don't know about that.
Right now, my computer can run both with no issue to report.
But there is also problems of optimization. In The Twist, the game isn't so "beautiful". It's not like textures are super heavy or that there is tons of effects or moving objects. But the optimization is very low level.
To explain, the game loads many objects, and only displays the objects in the scene.
Maybe the engine in the second game is heavier, but we might get better results thanks to superior optimization. Wait & See.
Cannot proceed in the hospital. Kendra gets the sleeping pills.

If it is 44b Final, it should be working, tested mine works fine
and not all the door will light up
To double check, check the bottom right of the main menu
Yes checked it and it says 44b final
all sections you pointed to will light up when mouse hovers over them
but will not respond to clicking.

Man that "MILF" looks brutal, really hope her model is changed or at least her face.
Then I'm not sure what to tell you
The doors are behaving exactly as they should for me.
I can think of a couple of things that might be the cause
1- You're not on a windows system
2- You used a cheat mod to change some variables
3- Using the cheat, you max out everyone's points
and as a last resort
1- You can try my saves, you can find them via the link in my signature
2- Redownload a fresh copy of the game and a fresh copy of the crack via the link in my signature

And most likely, doing so can break the game, you need to limit yourself to money and inventory.
and if you do have to increase someone’s points, only do it in tiny increments like 5 or 10 at a time, and only if your following the walkthrough.
Did you get the red-hooded guy to hit you, sometimes that's easy to miss.
EDIT: and make sure to choose to go home and not stay at the hospital
Also make sure you are sleeping alone with Janice in her bed.

passed the game, f@ck how much content is in it, I probably played 2 weeks from the very beginning until the last point 900
