What you are saying is mostly impossible. Progressing too much i mean.
Mostly impossible isn't a thing. If it's "mostly" impossible, then it's still possible.

It was entirely possible to unintentionally lock out any of the optional Billy content, even when explicitly following the walkthrough on a fresh game. The options for getting Billy a blowjob at the pool, and consequently everything else Billy related, would not happen. No giving him panties (option wouldn't show up despite having them), literally none of the options for doing anything regarding Billy after Janice's Birthday event.
No cheating, either C+H or Regedit for autosave, just pure, unadulterated grinding with copious amounts of save-scumming. That was on 0.25 Final or 0.26 Final, can't remember which.

If you are using older save, sure but we all know using older saves also cause bugs.
Can cause bugs. Not guaranteed to.

With each new version i always run a new game to see if there are bugs. Never ever bugs occured on my case(of course this is for final version). So each time KsT posts a new version, he also has to do extra programming/scripting to adjust new stuff for your older save games. Which leads to; either longer production for each version or less content for each version.
Final version 0.22, every time I went to the school at 21:00, Black Screen O' Death!
Nothing changed hardware or drivers wise, started a new game to test, same again.
Didn't work until 0.23.

0.23 Final, Janice's new swimsuit caused issues with her tan lines, if the tan lines were changed from default state, causing the game to stop in that legendary Black Screen O' DEATH! proceeding whenever she was at the pool in the new suit.
Editing save file and restoring tan lines to normal was the only solution. Again, same on a new playthrough instead of just continuing an old save.

Point being, what Ikaruga was saying in regards to how the game handles certain things, can lead to issues where variables get messed up and affect the game.

*Rant on* and here some music for my rant, persoanlly i think it goes well while reading my shit

It is a thing and it is ''mostly'' because of your comprehension problems. I said ''if you are using cheats and older version saves'' which covers the minor cases of bugs caused by this or KsT did unintentional coding bug which is also rare and as i told you before(again) tweaking the game for older saves takes more work. So yeah it is impossible to cause that kind of bug in fresh game. And it is ''mostly'' impossible on older version save game. ''10. Go to the bathroom. In the room with the tub pick up Janice's panties from the floor.'' this is from 10th step of walkthrough and it is pretty obvious isnt it? What you are doing here is nitpicking. I'm mean i dont know why you are trying to intentionally cause more problems for the game but instead of doing the extra script/programming step KsT is relying on people having common sense and reading his god damn walkthrough(which isnt perfect) for smooth and bug free fun. Assumtion of this magnitude comes from common sense; which is basic thinking of people having average intelligence and maturity to do whatever they are trying to do. It is like walking; mostly imposibble to kill yourself by walking unless you are physically or mentally challenged yet you are complaining about there is a possbility of dying from tripping and breaking your neck. And for some god damn reason you are trying to defend people who want deathproof walking exprience. For example i want whine free wife(or any kind of women regardless of my relationship with her) and good luck to me about that.

Can cause bugs. Not guaranteed to.
That's why pretty much every computer game has ''known issues'' section for games. That sections point out what can hinder people's gaming exprience. For The Twist's case using cheats and using older/other people's save games cover that. Do i have to remind you that your circle jerk friend already told us he is using cheats and tracking the stuff with cheat engine. Enough reasons to cause simple bugs, which is ''mostly'' impossible if you are doing fresh clean run. I dont know why people go through cheating or using cheat engine effort with games like these which have reputation to fuck things up for your fun ride. Given just playing the game without any of these efforts are causing less bugs for people. Again unless bugs are hard coded. My honest opinion; OP should update known issues section.

Unrelated, those are hard coded bugs came from KsT's side, which i already covered in why ''mostly'' impossible is a thing. We are talking about some variables getting buggy cause some dude decided to hasten his fap session with cheating. I told this many times before; people can watch porn for fap sessions. There are plenty of porn movies covering various fetishes.

Point being, what Ikaruga was saying in regards to how the game handles certain things, can lead to issues where variables get messed up and affect the game.
Point being; what Ikaruga is whining about is unrelated to anything you said. That kind of bug is coming from cheating and misplacing flag actions with heavily cheated relationship statuses(which i already talked about in my previous post). I dont know why people are expecting triple A treatment from indie developer but assuming you can comprehend my rant i'm already fed up with people who want spoon feeding and easy way every step of these games. I practically majored in those scenes thanks to people here on the forums claiming there are bugs. I already told people how to handle the flags and those scenes without cheating in a new game. Rest is up to people with basic search skills.

*Rant off*

Update graphics drivers.

If that doesn't work, right click on the The Twist executable and then Send To -> Desktop to create a shortcut.

Right click on the shortcut and go to Properties.

In the Target field add the phrase

-force-opengl

to the end of the line.

Should work then.
Thanks to Skaldy, dsconstructor and you dspeed for the suggestions.
I first completely updated my Win10 installation.
Then i tried updating the graphics driver (did this in december too with no results). After installation it said the driver update had some issue and it suggested running the DISM and SFC command from an administrator powershell window to check and if needed repair the windows image and file system. So i did all that and tried the game with no success. After that i tried reinstalling DirectX 11. Tried the game again but it crashed again with the same error as before.
Finally i tried the shortcut option described above but after clicking the shortcut it immediately gives the error below and the game does not start.

I think the only option now is to burn this laptop and buy a decent one ;)

So, what you're saying is that the only way to guarantee that the player doesn't encounter any bugs is if he doesn't really play the game, but instead follow a walkthrough? And wanting to complete the game without said walkthrough isn't something someone with common sense would ever consider?

In all fairness, using the walkthrough is still the best way to play. Not because it's a walkthrough, but because of the lack of hints in-game, be it detailed hints or certain repeatable dialogue hints.

The Task List is helpful, but still being implemented.
So it's either asking questions that most likely have already been asked ad nauseum, or using the walkthrough...

Or, as I myself prefer, play the game as far as I can, and once I'm stuck, I either search this forum or take a glance in the walkthrough, and then continue on my own again. It's one thing to use the help when you need it, but it's a totally different story if you claim that the only reasonable way to play it without being expected to accept bugs, is to follow the walkthrough step by step.

As a personal side note, I hate games that require you to follow a strict walkthrough unless you want to miss out in content (and I don't consider The Twist as one of those). The player should be allowed to try things on his own and explore the game, even though some people want to hide bad game design by calling it 'adding replay value'.

it is an unfinished, still in development game from an indie developer. If you wanna learn which action does what or what flag unlocks what scene you should use the walkthrough. Current state of the game is half-sandboxish at best. And since content in this game is created and added bit by bit you gonna have to endure following certain paths and lacking freedom of open world games.

I mean if you are patient enough you can come back in a year or two and see how it goes. Dont expect much logic behind gameplay either. I mean most of the stuff you do in game is to keep you busy. Effort and reward kind of relationship which btw tries to extend your play time so when you fully complete it you will have something to look forward to(other than stroking your dick ofc.)

Btw; this is my take on how KsT rolls.

edit: also this is a sex game dude. Not some mystery plot or adventure game like Baldur's Gate. To be honest main plot has been put on hold for a long time and it is quite cliche. walkthrough is merely there to show you how to reach which scene. And it is getting messier by each update cause there are too many variables tangled up.

Never said it was... Even though due to the state of being still under development, it is factual to say such.

Great, then we all agree that it is a bit buggy no matter if you cheat or not, but that's usually OK since there is a walkthrough to follow. However, being a Q&A engineer, I feel the priorities aren't the best if he keeps allowing his code to deterirate for each release. Many of the minor bugs are most likely relatively easy to fix early on, but once the pile up it can be a nightmare to fix. Simple checks if variable A is set to a value that doesn't block Path B doesn't take many minutes to implement.

I fully understand that single devs need to focus on what brings the most value, and this is still at best a beta and work-in-progress. My experience though, is that it gets more and mor difficult to fix these things the longer you wait. Plus it's usually incredibly boring to only do bug fixing for a longer period of time-

Sorry if i was unclear. dspeed suggested this:

"If that doesn't work, right click on the The Twist executable and then Send To -> Desktop to create a shortcut.
Right click on the shortcut and go to Properties.
In the Target field add the phrase
-force-opengl
to the end of the line."

And when starting the game it gave me the opengl error.

I have attached my system info.
You have to download it and rename the "System information.txt" to "System information.nfo" (i could not attach an .nfo file)
open by right clicking the file and chooce "open with -> system information"
If you go to "components -> Display" You can see the graphics card configuration.

Problem is not buggy game play minor or major mate. Problem resides from lenght of the current version of this game. Given most of us here have been playing this over a year, you can guess people are getting fed up with doing same rutines from start to avoid bug that may come with older saves or cheats. This sole mind set creates more buggy gameplay posts right now. I dont mind testing each final build from start but many people do.

I mean sure if there are god tier patrons in patreon they can push on for extra coding and scripts to solve older save game/cheat conflicts but i think it will be really messy to work on since action A require action B and action B requires Action Q which requires action Z. That's how game is tangled up. For example you need to constantly fuck around teacher to unlock billy path fully. Cause you cant access billy's mom without giving her the damn flash light and you cant get to fuck her and get caught by billy and shit goes on like this.

Basic game mechanics are huge cock block. I wish KsT just changed the intro(by introducing Jason to key main women and giving that +5 at start) then you can go around those circled forked roads by yourself just fine lol.
