What I've done is I've made the the face, less young, (rather than older, there is a difference), I've added some stubble, a few scars on his left side and made his face slightly asymmetrical. Let me know what you think of him now .

Wow, I really missed a lot during this week hah.
Well, personally I can say that the canon path wouldn't have affected me in any way (even though Kasula probably would have been my the only one), but I guess this way you will be able to gather more audience in general and avoid some backlash as somebody already stated.

I have a question though, does this lore change affect ToS or Spice Mending, I mean in a matter of scenes or dialogues? Or is it purely a A Prince’s Compass's thing?

Also - as for MC from 2 game, well from this render to me he looks, I don't know how to put it, hahah, well, he looks... too feminine, yeah, this description comes to my mind first.

I took it down for the release of Ch. 1.5 because I didn't update it. But I may have forgotten to update the FAQ...
I'm planning on releasing a full, official walk-through with the release of Ch. 2 and I'll add it back to the OP when Ch. 2 is released.

The example render that I included probably doesn't do the best highlighting the MC's... masculinity. I'll have another look into the his body shape... at the end of the day, I want him to be muscular and fit, but not a wall of muscle - kind of similar to Tides' current MC's body shape.

Haha, sorry if it sounded a bit harsh! But the new picture is great! Nothing of the "flaws" i perceived with the first one are still apparent with this one, im not sure if its the lightning or the changes you made or both but i completly dig it now!

This change has no effect on Tides of Succession.

It will impact on Spice Mending, in the sense it creates more branching for me to deal with, as Tides' MC will appear with his chosen LI in Spice Mending. However, the amount of branching in Spice Mending this change causes is much smaller than the amount of branching this change causes in A Prince's Compass.

I also didn't mention this in the dev-log, but I'm planning to change the name of A Prince's Compass... as the MC is no longer guaranteed to be a Prince. Perhaps A Captain's Compass...? I'll brainstorm some potential names and see what I come up with...

Fun fact: Garou (the dev of Shards of the Past), was actually the one who came up with the title for Tides of Succession.

Yeah, I wanted to mention this too, cause from your Dev log based on the ToS ending - MC can be Prince or Lord or... etc

I wanted to come back and post again saying that I appreciate the amount of thought and consideration the dev has put into the feedback that I and others provided. As mentioned, nothing was taken as harassing, but I want to emphasize that I spoke out because I felt passionate about this project already. At its core, the monogamous, branching, and deep story is what has made me interested in continuing to follow this game to begin with. I trust in the large-scale vision that the dev has in mind because it is readily obvious that they have spent a considerable amount of time and dedication towards it, and it shows.

I suppose a better way for me to put this is that I am a huge advocate for little details going a long way. It really sucks when you get so invested in something just to have your immersion killed by something seemingly small or trivial. Its happened to me more than a few times, and I genuinely don't want it to happen here.

Again, the feedback was never about doubting the dev's vision. I hope this doesn't set a precedent where the dev bends to the will of those who want to change the game into something it isn't, because I don't want that. I'm just glad that we can have a discussion over this to begin with and can witness this game be something truly special

Just found and played this today. Here are some of my thoughts.
1. Love the lore and world so far
2. All 3 Li are fantastic so far and that is rare to me
3. A non beta MC is refreshing

I have already wishlisted on Steam and will gladly purchase when available. The vision of VN set in the same world is excellent and very much an improvement on the standard season nonsense currently trending.

I agree the second render of the sequel MC is much better
The change to cannon path idea shows you to be a very thoughtful developer who is not afraid to figure out alternante ways for your dream to succeed, while keeping your vision true so bravo
I added my first sig tonight and love this girl. Only thing that stops my Red head fever is a Blue eyed brunette that is not ghost white.
