I know it sounds crazy but this is how I fixed it. You need to uninstall all newer VC_Run then install 2015 and on top you can apply the newer VC_Run (2017, 2018 etc..).

Same with the other poster, the scene changes in the title and stuff work fine. The first scene in the game does not load though.This is strange...All animations use VP8 codecs in webm container. Try to install VLC.
I have the Ubuntu restricted extras installed as well as VLC.

The reason old saves don't work is because a lot of new scenes have been added to the original content and things have been moved to give the game a better flow just try it and you will see
So when you start the game up the screen just turns blue?
We need a bit more info then
What OS are you using? What version of the game are you trying to run, the more info we have the better we can help
I cant find my old saves where is the save files of this game ?

What makes my system so different to yours
Ubuntu 18.04 or later should not be the problem. Ok I use 16.04.. but a linux build should run on all Linux distros!

It sounds like a problem with your graphic card! Do you have the latest drivers installed for it?

I have looked at this bug for about 1 hour and... no solution found. Ubuntu 16.04 runs on the Unity Desktop and Ubuntu 18.04 on Gnome Desktop, so I guess there is a wrong/missing codec somewhere.What makes my system so different to yours

Did you download the game from OP or from somewhere else?
If from F95, then make sure you have permission for %Appdata% folder (hidden folder in your user directory).
