Hello Tango Fictioneers!

My goal is to have another update out relatively soon but I thought I would show off some 3d art experiments in the meantime. The initial images took a crazy amount of time to render but I think they turned out pretty well. I like braided Taylor too, she gives me a kind of a Lara Croft vibe. She'll definitely curse at you while kicking your ass!

I put a few days into sorting through free 3d assets and making a list of character analogs and props I need to recreate as much of the game world as possible. It's been a background concept project for a long time. Luckily Sangriart made a good base model for Taylor /Caprice so I finally had a place to start. I am trying to get access to a rendering service so that I can avoid a more expensive PC upgrade and spend more on assets. If you notice tiny little dots on the renders that's because the rendering is really hard on my PC and I am trying to strike a balance between quality and time. There are a couple free render services open to small developers so that's cool and hopefully I can take advantage of them. I have a long way to go in terms of skill and library assets but I'm excited how this will develop!

I guess the obvious question is what I am going to do with these renders? For starters, I am going to try to make a basic comic strip to post on

to cross promote the game as well create as some promotional materials (ie posters) and really basic shit like a title page that I still don't have. I think it will help fill in some dead time because I hate making empty status posts. At least if I can fiddle around and make a few renders that's an excuse to post something.

The plan is to finish Transfigure with it's current real life media format so that's unchanged. For now I am just trying to learn more about how to make better art and accumulate more assets until I can afford some better hardware and character models made by really good artists.

I always felt like art has held back my project compared to others that were more visually focused. But art has also been a sticking point that I wasn't confident I could accomplish on my own. As Transfigure has grown so would the cost of illustrating such a massive story. Even though there are a lot of great artists out there that I know would like to chip in, it's hard to ask them without offering a very large sum of money that's worth their time. The number of assets needed for such a huge project would probably rack up an art bill in the 6 figures to get custom hand drawn artwork done for it all. So obviously that's out of reach. After a lot of consideration and research, I've found that the 3d method is the cheapest and easiest path going forward that will allow me to create a proper good looking visual novel (by myself) and cash in on some of that sweet-sweet steam money so I can afford a pair of pants in a couple years. Once the base game is finished converting it to a more standard visual novel should be pretty simple. I hope one successful project will lead to the creation of several more.

Please let me know what you think about the new artwork. Is this something you'd like to see more of? Or do you strongly prefer a real life or anime art direction?

P.S. Next month's art budget is getting spent exclusively on hummingbirds.

Idk about others but for me real life porn is the way to go for this game,its been like that since the start and it's prob why it worked out so well besides great story.
If you want to have a spin off or a different story separate from this with renders who am I to stop you.
The models themselves look great but such games arent the ones I am interested in.

Kinda feels like some of these updates are more about doing finishing touches on existing storylines than pushing the story forwards.

Thanks for the feedback. I noticed a lot of complaints about unfinished endings lately and that content was finished so it got added plus it was a voted request. I have almost all of the story lines mapped with all the necessary media already curated. Most of the final stories are in various stages of completion. It's just a matter of raising enough money for me to put in the necessary hours to finish the project. This is the main reason 3D models have appeared. At current part time funding rates it will probably take me 2 years or so to finish the game but maybe if I can sell a few comics on the side that will allow me to increase pledges and finish it a lot faster and then begin a 3D Ren Py remake.

Just popping in because I saw this game on the 'recently updated' section. Is there an option to be a dominant protagonist? Preferably as a male? I'm totally down for starting off as a M2F as long as there is significant content after changing back that doesn't involve being a sissy or femboy.

There are a number of different stories with a lot of varied themes. Most of the stories are about self exploration and a journey that may or may not lead to a successful reversal of the initial circumstances. Usually changing back means victory and an ending but this isn't always the case.

There is no sissy content in the game but there are a lot of gender bending scenarios with both male and female characters. There are hundreds of scenes with different themes and relationship dynamics from cheating, true love, etc all the way to mind control. Statistically, most of the content is male-female focused roughly split between con, non con, and coerced. There is also quite a few f-f scenes and pretty much every single tag on f95 is represented.

I see. That sounds less than ideal for me but probably enough to give it a try. You've clearly put a lot of work into the game and I appreciate you for that even if the game itself ends up not being to my tastes. Thanks for the prompt response too!

You're welcome. Thanks for trying my game! If you're open minded and willing to explore chances are you will find something you like. I've tried to make the stories unique and revolve around interesting characters. A lot of people have discovered new kinks that they didn't even know existed. I've written a hundred endings for Transfigure and I doubt any other game on this site will have a similar roster once it is completed. There are about thirty endings currently and enough content to stack into around an 8 inch thick book.

I prefer Real porn for scenes but I wouldn't mind 3d Models (or 2d Drawn Art) for characters. that would be nice

Planning for a potential transition to 3d is wise if you're sticking to Patreon, since Patreon technically does not allow real porn games and any such project has numbered days there. For examples of this see TrapQuest (they agreed to Patreon's wishes and removed the real porn content), and X-Change Life (my game, I switched to SubscribeStar instead which doesn't have paypal support but much more NSFW dev-friendly).

This was announced months ago (if not a year or so ago, at this point). Any developer that hasn't fully transitioned/prepared a fallback option really only has themselves to be angry with. Patreon gave ample time for devs to prepare.

And yet from a quick browse, looks like 2/3 of the top real porn games on here are still on Patreon... it's going to be tough once they start enforcing the rules more strictly.

I honestly think a lot of the devs would be off far better with some form of anonymous donation, where the expense doesn't show up on the bank account as "Charged for XXX Porn game" I know a lot of people are turned off by that possibility.

I've had SS for years but its fees are very high and the lack of PayPal reduces the potential supporting audience significantly. So even though everyone hates Patreon they still use it and I get more money per pledge than if they went on SS. Patreon knows this and uses their smug anti competitive behaviour to slow companies like SS. It's quite disgusting. They would definitely lose in a free market.

I don't believe in censoring art so Patreon can get fucked. I'd rather eat porridge for the rest of my life than bow to the whims of an unelected obscenity council. I would remove the game before censoring it. If I went down every time a narcissist wanted me to change my game (or my life) to suit their taste I'd never produce anything. I don't remove offensive unfunny jokes either, even if irate CCP members message me.

Patreon's biggest mistake is that they act as if THEY are the ones funding artists. They are not. YOU (the community) fund me. Patreon is just a soon to be obsolete middleman.

It is encouraging that some devs like Aphro have built up large SubscribeStar followings. I've encouraged people to migrate over there for years but right now it is about 15-300 in favor of Patreon which just serves to illustrate this dilemma.

First I've heard of it. Their rules have always been silly and selectively enforced so that they have the power to censor whatever they want. They also frequently update their TOS to make it even more terrible so I don't follow the whims. It's not like an update going from mega obscene to very mega obscene makes a difference. Consider this fact: even popular shows like House of the Dragon and Blood and Fire it is based on would be banned because it is considered VERY obscene by Patreon's definitions. So much of the world's greatest art isn't allowed. That has a chilling effect on the very art they profess to want to assist creating. Now if a famous author like GRRM went on the site they wouldn't censor him of course because they are a bunch of spineless hypocrites.

That's one of the reasons people use bridges like SS and Patreon. It's just a bill to Patreon, it doesn't show the specific creators you back, although it would be obvious if someone had access to your email records as well as the bank statement. Patreon as an idea is great because it solves many of those long standing issues, while creating new ones and huge moral hazards.

People do see Patreon as the default option and it's a nicer to use overall. But when it comes down to supporting a creator versus not supporting them at all, people will use SS if they really believe in their work. It took about a month to get all my Patrons to migrate over, whereas I'm sure if I kept both open it would be something like the heavily Patreon-favored ratio you're experiencing.

At the time I didn't have the luxury to choose... you can always just wait for Patreon to drop the hammer, and switch over when the time comes. Hopefully they let you make an announcement post before suspending the page, I snuck mine in a few hours before my ability to make posts was disabled.
