Oddly I've had no problems with any of the updates and played through all of the original releases, from beginning to end, with no problems at all. This makes me wonder if the freezes, missing items, vanishing artefacts etc., only occur when you play through the game using a certain sequence, because I stuck to soul crystal hints and everything worked fine for me out of the box. For about two years almost all the updates worked perfectly. I can only remember one update (with hornets blocking a path or something like that) which failed for everybody on release (fixable by editing a line of code) but lately the quality of the code does seem to have declined allowing errors to creep in. Maybe one of NLT Media's programmers left and was replaced by someone less experienced or not yet familiar with the original programmer's style; or maybe the updates aren't being tested enough times by enough people to detect bugs properly; or possibly with two games on the go at the same time NLT Media are just stretched too thin to be able to work as professionally and effectively as they used to. Could be all sorts of reasons for bugginess and failure. Up until fairly recently they've been very diligent and thorough as far as released code was concerned and there have been remarkably few cock ups considering the size and number of regular updates there have been since ToN began.Pups as in Sick Puppy... and you might need some chillax too... read between the lines before you assume I was badmouthing you in any ways ( wasn't badmouthing Pup either by the way... ) Apology accepted... not that it matters ! Sonny would take effect maybe if you were in your late 70s maybe 80s so no I don't think so
That is what you get if you bite off more than you can chew... classic rookie mistake ( I'm sorry folks but that's how life works it's not a popularity contest !!! ) maybe the reason why so much change occurred from V79 onward which led to the bad seed V83... and still all of them updates needs a fix of some sort... ( and will continue so no need to rush on the collection of the new version ! ) Personally I think there was zero testing after V79 since they choose to mix up the original timeline... but who knows for sure ?! Minor you say ? If a game stops functioning that's not considered as minor more like pretty fucking major issues ... Anyways we agree on the bulk of what was here...
Personally I think that NLT Media are putting a huge amount of effort into developing TGO, hoping to push the envelope even further than managed previously in ToN and are running into trouble. The more complexity injected into the game the more time and effort is bound to be required, which might explain the why they've become slipshod and accident prone as ToN segues into TGO, which is a bad sign for a game with a two or three year life cycle and future updates scheduled at the rate of twice a month throughout the whole of that very long period.
The launch of TGO has been postponed and postponed and postponed and now put off until December. If NLT Media are finding TGO difficult enough to demand repeated delays as per its launch, when they do eventually manage to get the new game off the ground, at such a demanding level of difficulty, will it be possible to update TGO on a regular bimonthly basis like ToN before it?
I have a sinking feeling.
