Been a while since I played this game, back in version 0.81, but boy oh boy did I forget how much this game loves taking away your ability to do literally anything. Overseer Maike is just straight up bullshit. "Yeah, nah, buddy. Good luck getting a shot off when you're grappled for the next 8 months. Nice 160 health and 125 shield. Too bad you're grappled for the next 80 turns because Maike's whip is broken as a Goddamn motherfucker so it's all gone and there's nothing you can do about it but scream at your computer until your voice is gone. Good luck on attempt 406 lol"

"Your enemies will have a hard time hitting you behind cover" *instantly gets grappled for 8 turns, loses all shield and half health* I'm having fun

I so love when a game is immediately just like "You lose." But... Can I at least fight back and go down swinging? Put up a valiant fight against a stronger foe that bests me due to their superior combat prowess in a fun, engaging, back and forth affair? "No, you sit and watch Maike's Jesus rope fuckin Kamui itself through your cover and evaporate your health while literally unable to do anything about it. Not only do you lose, but you also just don't get to play during this combat encounter because fuck you, eat shit. Thanks for playing " You know shit's fucked when I would rather fight Whitney's Miltank 40 times in a row than fight Maike's fuckin bitch ass again.

I also love the disarmed effect. "Nah, man, you can't use ranged or melee." Can I pick my gun back up? "Nah, man." Ok, thanks, guess I'll just go find a ditch to fall into.

All of Zheng Shi is like a DnD campaign where all my dice are 1s. "I'll shoot the bad guy." Nope, miss. Oh, they shot me 47 times. "I'll whack the bad guy with my melee weapon." Nope, they dodged it and bonked me on the head so I forgot how hands work, so now when I try to attack, I take off all my armor and snap my own neck. Sweet.

What do you mean? Isn't you Captain Steele an overleveled super sayan with all stats maxed by the time you reach Zheng Shi? Git gud, casul

Seriously, though, use airtight armor to block most of her lust attacks and don't struggle when she grabs you. Her zil boytoy (I think his name is Tivf) tells you about her not liking passive slaves or something, hinting about the 'no struggling during grapple' thing.

Thanks for all the advice, but my post was mostly for satirically venting my minor frustration as I try to super-spam speed blitz my way through the game to get to the new stuff. I've just been trying to spam click the shit out of everything to get to everything added since I last played so I just flipped on easy mode and shock launcher, cover, rapid fire spammed the dogshit out of her. Though all of your advice does seem like it would be useful for anyone "seriously" playing through the Zheng Shi section of the game, so many thanks on behalf of anyone genuinely feeling the pain I played up in my post. Glad it was taken for laughs as intended and some genuinely good advice was shared!

Did you know that wearing slave uniform (is that even a uniform?) gives you an option to 'skip' half of combat encounters? Mfs just thought 'u a slave' and leave you alone/just fuck you, in a literal sense (could lead to bad ends).

Been cheesing the game with the Melee Smuggler going Custom Shock Gear+Sneak Attack+Alpha Strike+Can Opener+Twist the Knife+Siegwulfe (normal one, turns out she mimics all the melee perks & gets stronger when you go full melee/can also do sneak attack and twist the knife on her turn.)

If I can find my old posts here, I can show you how broken it was or still is if it's still a thing.
The goal is the crit dmg bonus after a frozen enemy and 2x hit = 2x crits in one turn.
There's also the funny stunlock cheese with the same merc 2x hit passive but it's the rocket hammer as the melee weapon so 2x attacks = easier stun procs -> stunlock enemies forever.

Wanna know the best part? The frost gun works on the frost dragon so you can beat it in 2 turns or anytime the freeze gun procs the freeze debuff.
The only enemy that is bad for the build is the boss we fight in Uveto, the Not-Prey-monsters side quest.

I use a similar build on my current tech specialist play through. It works, but the deep freeze debuff got nerfed "reworked" around the time when Sophora rolled out.

I say this in the nicest way possible because I had the exact same issue, make sure you're going down. I always forget the bar is below ground technically.

P.S: Is the Thraggen Mercenary from the mainquest on Dhaal available yet? I read she would appear on the bar after you did the quest.

She is, with one sex scene afaik, but for some reason your character doesn't know who she is and she only mentions that you fought her employer and not her.

That reminds me that I was doing a fight against the Dog Android Twins from Kiro's sidequest in VR. On the very first turn, one of them used a stun skill on me. And then proceeded to spam it for the rest of the combat encounter. I literally did not get to have a turn that entire fight.

I mean, I was trying to see the defeat scene anyway, so that all worked out, but...
