Not only this but instead of his dad using his power in the government for leverage to help his son, he uses it to blackmail someone to leave his son in jail and let the MC's wife and daughter disappear without being able to be tracked. Then MC's wife gets married to a fucking politician, and instead of using that power to help him with trying to stop the officer from doing something like that again, or expose it, they just ignore it, the MC is the ONLY one trying to do the right thing and you are mad at him? First off, Deb Helped the family take his wife and daughter away right at the start, remember the meeting they had while he was in jail, or did you forget that, and after she knew where they went a few years later she spent 2 years having sex with him while he is self destructing, because of her actions, and killing himself with alcohol and she is so selfish that she keeps it to herself until his wife is assassinated and his daughter has a government hit squad after her is dumb af, Plus she doesn't even tell him she knew about it, till he finds out from someone else, so she doesn't even get the redemption of admitting she did something bad, she would have kept it a secret forever if she could have. Also I don't know if you know, but a full year of searching for his family resulted in nothing because his family had strings pulled in the government level so he wouldn't find anything which Deb knows about, so of course he stopped searching, to him they disappeared off the face of the earth, and a year of nonstop searching is a long time.
