I genuinely thought she was some sort of plant that's managed to take a human form. Like a dryad or something. She seems to be obsessed with light, so that makes sense in my mind, and likes to wear clothes that allow her to have maximum contact with light.

Doubt she's related to Sarah since they all disappeared.

Nah. The fate of Sarah's sisters is one of the Big Mysteries at this point in OoT, so I don't think he'd give something important away in Tropicali. Besides, from what we *do* know in OOT, they apparently were consumed in some way

Thats true and i agree with it, theres probably no deeper connection .. buuuuuuuut how did laoise got her body? OoT teached us that fairys usually dont have bodys in the real world and the proccess of "creating" a body for them doesnt seem to be easy.

And it seems like they are the same types of fairys, maybe their connection gets broken when they get a body too?

But yeah cro and jamie made it sound like they stopped existing kinda the same way how mizue got "created/back into existence"

Eeeehhh... Are you new here? A lot of games has incest patches. [REDACTED] should have to make you think what something is wrong and what you should go find that patch. Even Tropicali has two of them: one in the OP and one in the theme

I don't disagree. The entire crux of my argument isn't this is a bad game and you should avoid it like the plague but it will be better later. The content I was personally interested in isn't in yet. And the gameplay didn't do it for me.

If I had rated this 4 stars and said the exact same shit do you think anyone would've even noticed.

Not gonna read through the whole meltdown going on here, but let me just state this:

I don't mind contrarian reviews. I too, found games that everyone seems to love to be mediocre at best. But complaining about lack of content is idiotic. Do you belive "rating games as they are not on future potential" is a fair thing to do when you're comparing a game's first release to games with literal years of releases behind them?

Ideally, we would only review finished games, but when it comes to Patreon models, that's simply not an option. So, if something has potential, good reviews are a way to help the game get support, and realise said potential. If we all gave games 3 stars early on, on the basis of "has potential, lacks content", a lot of people would just see the ratings and brush off the game, and that potential might not be realised for lack of support.

Now if you don't like giving high scores to games with little content, thats fine too. You could simply hold off on your review, until the game has enough content to be given a fair assessment. No one is forcing you to write reviews.

I'm not suggesting that you take down your review or change the score or anything like that. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and if you think this is a 2/3 star game, thats totally fine. But trying to apply your "review games as they are" philosophy to a first release is just not reasonable chief, you should reconsider that.

I would go even further and say that your less-than-5-star review for OoT was really helpful, and I implemented a ton of that feedback into Tropicali. Genuinely good stuff.

Then why not just say that? Hey man you are being overly harsh on your rating for a demo. I'm willing to concede that sure but instead i got personal attacks.

But let me ask this to everyone. What do these stars mean to you. If the most perfect game is being developed but it's still in the really early stages pre 0.1. Is it already a 5 star game at that point? Would you say to people hey you need to play this right now? Is it as good as a game that has already been developed for years?

How about if it got abandoned at that stage is it fine to rate it lower then?

What if it's a platformer but you just don't think the platforming is very good? But everything else is great. How much of your score should that impact?


That's how I got to my overall score. There some things about the writing I don't like but overall it's good. 5-4.5ish. There are good scenes but the ones I'm really interested in aren't there. Similarly with the story good build up no pay off yet that makes me go daaaamn. 4.5-4ish.
Management gameplay that did not work for me in a management game. 3-2.5ish.

Expectation? A handful of people are going to read my review and either say man this guy has got no clue what he is talking about and ignore it. Bro, your entire problem and why you're having this whole meltdown is because you can't read. All the game files say its a "demo" and, even if you were oblivious to that, it says in the title that its "v0.4". So... it's not finished. To put it into a context you may be familiar with - you don't judge anime that airs its episodes weekly and complain that there was no pay off when you're only on episode 4 out of 12 or something like that. Smh

Also, most management porn games are the exact same so I don't understand why you're complaining about it. If management games are not your thing, you can always exclude it as a tag when your searching for something to play. It's the most braindead thing to complain about a genre or a tag that explicitly tells you what it is. You don't watch a fucking romance movie and give it a 1 star rating because it's a romance and because you don't like that genre. Likewise, I don't start searching for NTR games and start review bombing it because it has NTR.

Before I play a game that's in development I would like to have a sense of how much content there is in it and what sort. If a game has 2 routes dom/sub but only one route is completed while the other barely has content that's important to know.

I would want someone to share that with me and in part why I bothered writing. As well as ofcourse there are some parts of it I simply didn't like. That rating a game lower because of it doesn't work with a Patreon model is like I said not a perspective I considered and i will do so in future. Not that I expect to write many but hey.

Still I'm off the opinion that you should only buy a game in early access if you either are happy with it as is. Or you care enough about the potential it has to throw money at it even if it doesn't end up going anywhere. And that's roughly the perspective I reviewed it from. As is I'm not happy with it and while I see potential I also have problems.

If I had played any of the devs other work and was wildly impressed by those I would probably be more generous on the potential. But as of writing I hadn't so how well they can stick a landing is an unknown to me.

Porn games don't work like normal games where they tend to release an early access and then the full version straight after; most porn games are updated regularly over a longer period of time. Because a lot of these developers don't have a massive team behind them and don't have the deep pockets of sponsors, they have to:
1. rely on good rating from websites like F95 (where good ratings will draw more attention and have a higher chance of attracting people who'd be willing to donate on Patreon and Itch etc.) and
2. Take their time making the game and release it update by update so that they can earn some money to keep them going.

That's how it works for almost every other game on this site. Some games go about 5 or 6 updates without any sex (which is about a few years). Please, for the sake of everyone on this site and Anon, use common sense

As far as demos go, this has so much content. Also, like I said earlier, if you think the game is cool with what's there, then don't rate it a bad rating. It would be another thing entirely if this was the finished product. You don't watch a good anime halfway through and give it a bad rating because you they haven't released all the episodes yet. Do you think people who were waiting for the 2nd or 3rd season of Game of Thrones or something, gave the show a bad rating simply because IT WASN'T COMPLETE YET?

If you don't consider those to be management games then sure I'm willing to admit if my idea of what a genre is was wrong.

And just like the management games you've listed and the others on this site, Tropicali is exactly like them. The only difference is that Tropicali is still a demo and early release and there's a lot more content planned. So essentially, what you're complaining about is that there's not enough content, which has been explained a million times.

Yeah. NON-PORN GAMES which have a huge team behind them and investors to back up their projects. Even if the game is rubbish on EA or release, they still have the funding and logistics to improve it. Like No Man's Sky, for example. PORN GAMES don't work like that at all. And if you actually read what I said previously, a lot of story-driven porn games have almost no content earlier on because they're interested in developing relationships first and foremost. Look at Anon's other game, Out of Touch, for example. Almost no H-scenes earlier on but its still a fucking fantastic game. Other games like Eternum or Being a DIK, which you mentioned yourself, had almost no (decent) porn scenes earlier on and people often had to wait months or even years for some good stuff to come out.

But even after I still changed it because I can admit where I was being unfair and leaning towards more negative while for Patreon games that you want to see finished you really should lean towards more positive.
