the cracked versions that you can download from the first post of this thread are safe. Those were painstakingly combed through to remove any issues, thanks to john_nuclear.
The official releases are still questionable, hence why most here are waiting for the steam release.
speaking of the steam release, since this is the first time I've really looked into such a thing, is there a way for that to get over to here? Because obviously the last thing I want is for people I know to see me playing something weird like this.

Right click game, properties, privacy hide game activity. No one will know you own it or see you in it. Discord may still leak it if you don't have discord set right.
Steam allowed that train molestation game on, so I doubt there'll be issues...short term.

Others like me know that the V1.0 (japanese) a couple pages back can break your old savefile. There is a fix already but noone uploaded it ^^
If you got that version from here, you're safe. This thread is the cracked version that dealt with the DRM that caused those issues. Everyone is just being paranoid about getting the official release, and thinking about waiting for someone else to go first when it finally releases in a few days.
Something funny, I think im the one that really started that whole thing on the old thread, he had just added codes, I was using mtool to translate, I opened the game and loaded my save, it gave me a code prompt, I didn't know what it was, so I just used 000, it deleted all my saves, everything spiraled after I posted that lol, I never personally checked if what other people were saying was true, but I checked the old thread real quick to refresh my memory, they said the game would close if you had a search engine open and typed "cheat" or "mtool", no idea if that was true, but that was when he first started adding the codes, so before the versions you know, after this new thread was created I ended up losing interest, but before he added the code thing I was actually thinking of buying the game, even supporting it monthly, which I make it a point to not spend money on something that isn't finished, so that should say how much I liked it, not just as porn but as a game it was actually pretty fun, but I didn't have the money at the time and wanted to keep up so I wouldnt get overwhelmed by the additions when I finally got money, then he added the code and the rest is history.
I think people were mostly mad because of the possible malware, also if you didn't know, on the old thread the dev was a insanely toxic, downright radioactive, it looked like he was throwing a fit over the whole "piracy" thing, I'm not looking through all of that thread to find what he said but when you insult people they tend to dislike you, that's the main reason i decided I'm not supporting him even with a full release, he lost me when he started throwing a tantrum and insulting people over fucking piracy, he clearly has a screw loose, at least when it comes to piracy.

Interesting lore, and yea i can understand the toxicity part. Ive seen many devs that went full toxicity believing they are correct or morally just (ironically, i see it more with japanese devs when it comes to piracy, but i dont want to push hate to all of them). That and the whole, its illegal to write negative comments or something in japan (defamation etc works differently in japan). So you get someone who is way too deep in the local sauce, goes abroad, and just has a melt down. They know the game, if its outside of japan they dont care, or if one of the targets is outside? Well thats legal jargon i wont go too deep down since im not a prof in it. But i can see how that perfect storm meets a perfect boat. All the mocking and crying that happened, i can semi visualize it lol.
My issue with the forums hardon is basically making stuff up to justify attacking someone you disagree with. Im sure there was plenty of reasons for people to hate the guy. I dont agree with authors going full melt down mind you, but i can see how the puzzle pieces clicked. I'll still buy the game since i generally dont care about the author, but the game itself and if i like it. That and im lazy when it comes to updating cracked games lol.
Also i have a mild form of autism as well so no worries. Thank you for sharing that info, brings some more depth to the whole situation.
Yeah, Saki is great, but Tunnel Escape is DEFINITELY of a higher quality. These people just malding and capping cuz the dev is trying to prevent them from pirating his game, the nerve of him.

It is not about us being pissed that he had put DRM to prevent stealing of his work. I take it as a normal behavior to protect your work.
The problem in this case is how he did it.
First, he asked people to stop pirating and after they said "no" he called all of the people that play his game degenerates that fap to pixels.
Second, he put a code in his game that would crash the game, freeze your pc and lastly wipe the saves. A bit drastic but it would be semi ok if it only affected the pirates but it didn't. Not only did the people that supported the project had to check the site every time they wanted to play (because he changed the code almost every hour at one point), but many of them lost their saves and potentially had their pc damaged because they were unlucky that the code changed when they wanted to play or they didn't check for the new one.
After Johny cracked the game and removed all that shit this site was the only place you could get this game clean. And the closer the release was the more did the dev spread the story how the pirates were sharing the malware and not him. The most disgusting behavior I have ever seen and an utter disrespect toward the supporters that, basically, put the food on your table.

Just going to point out, the save deletion is rare af from personal history. Out of 60+ (I'm ball parking here), times I messed up code input. Not once has my save been deleted. The only time I bricked a save was when I edited the save file. Undoing what I changed would fix it. I can edit it but some values are not meant to be changed lol.
But the code is annoying AF. Or was until he stopped the rapid changes.

You're just one of the few lucky ones. I have no idea how it was coded in the game but I have a feeling it might be either random as to what happens or progressively worse per wrong code input.
