Is anyone playing this on Joiplay able to get save files working? The game seems to run fine there so far but attempting to transfer save files has repeatedly failed, and I'm seeing lots of posts about not being able to save or load.

I mean you're entitled to your own opinion. But just because you don't like something doesn't mean everyone else is wrong and they can't have different opinions. You said you were trying to attack his ego but it seems like you should also check yours.
It's not gonna be popular, but I agree with your points. All the original characters looked like the roles they were supposed to play. Especially the MC who was supposed to be a shota with a third leg. It's kinda silly to call this anything other than a completely new game.
So? I'm aware there's people with different opinions. That's why I said there's no accounting for bad taste. And it's laughable my ego's bigger than the dude getting praised on every single complete overhaul he makes on his community funded h game project that nets him, what, 5 digits an income each month?
Hey, I'm not the one paying the man to do these changes, so in the end my opinion doesn't matter. It's the opinion of the majority here, and since the majority wants downgrades to the art, in my personal opinion, then they're free to do so. And I'm completely free to come here and say this is a stupid idea, nobody will like it, and then leave to find a new h game of considerable length that may catch my fancy.
You know what I do however got? The satisfaction of saying my piece instead of quietly letting things proceed and then scratching my head at why the finished product is hot garbage. And that's worth all the flames of people who have half-baked opinions telling me my ego's big. I know it is. It's quite nice.
It's almost like someone forced him into a thread for a game he's getting for free, and then forced him to read other people's opinions he doesn't agree with. Thankfully that's not something that happens, and thankfully the forums have an ignore button for ragey whiney babies.
I also get the feeling that some of the reworked characters, especially when it comes to the core cast, have lost some of that distinct unique feeling. Jeanne is the best example as she now looks like a slightly nerdier version of the mom or sister reworks. But they're not bad models at the end of the day. If this was a new game made from scratch like you said then plenty of the messages doubting the models would instead be messages of nothing but the highest praise. So that's why I try to not to be too harsh with critiquing the models as I'm sure they are well made and I think the dev has put in the blood, sweat and tears into their making. I just miss the old models. But ultimately the dev has invested wayyyyy too much time into them so I doubt they'd ever roll back the changes they've made. Which just leaves us to feel awkward as we can't do anything but enjoy what the end result will be while we have that nagging thought in the back of our heads "what would this have looked like with ____'s old model?" which is one of the risks of such a drastic remake.
So my personal conclusion is to wait and see. And Snats better bring the heat with this new update showing all of the skills they acquired and the epiphany they had that made them decide on this remake. I don't care how much content there will be. However, what is there on release better be so good I'll forget all about the old game.

I want to expand on this a bit, so long-ass post inbound. As far as the quality of the models go, there's nothing inherently wrong with them. They check some boxes, and they do get the job done. If this is what the game started off with, then I'm sure a lot of people would still be very happy with the game. However, a lot of the criticism coming forward is taking into account what the game was like before these complete facelifts.
I don't know for sure if the dev is using one of those anime character creators that a lot of anime porn games seem to share, but if he is then the results he made stood out quite a bit from everything else. It's what drew me into his game in the first place. The old models were definitely rough around the edges, but they each looked unique and had a lot of charm and quirks about them that made them stand out not only against his own cast of characters, but every other porn game on the market.
While you can make the argument that these new models are, on a technical level, "better" than the old ones, they've lost everything that made them so iconic to begin with. They feel generic and lack that personal touch that was there before. You could honestly stand these characters side-by-side with any other generic anime porn game and they'd probably fit right in and you couldn't really tell them apart. You can even see people in this thread getting confused about who is who between the cast shown thus far. It feels like the difference between someone making their art, flaws and all, and someone using a generic AI art generator.
I get that he did this because the pipeline he had was plagued with issues, but a whole and total rework I think was the worst possible idea he could have done outside of just abandoning the project. He established a fanbase off of what he had made, but instead of making adjustments to his current cast to help alleviate the pipeline, he instead chose to actually start completely over. This clearly divided his fanbase, so now instead of all his current fans standing behind him, he alienates a decent amount of people who really liked his work.
Moreover, the dev has already expressed that he had been getting burnt out on his work even before he started this rework. Now that does factor into the pipeline he had with the models before, but I would argue that his workflow in general is going to lead to the exact same results. He spent sleepless nights generating thousands of unique images for every single conversation when all that effort amounted to slight head tilts throughout the dialogue. I appreciate the hard work, but he does not know how to prioritize his workload. With all the effort and time he's putting into these new models, I don't think there's any way he's going remain motivated to get back on that treadmill to deliver the same quality product he made before. At least not without sacrificing any semblance of reliable and regular updates.
We'll see though. I'll keep my eye on things and discuss what's happening, but I really don't have a lot of optimism for this product.

People forget that Snats had promised that after he finished the first part of the game they would put the efforts into refining an improved part 2 to it. Not going back and redoing the entire game they'd been working on for a few years from scratch.
When they put out the obvious cashgrab "make your character I will only do this one time ever!" it was transparent what the motivations were.
I would say to some of you around here if you are truly upset, take the time to learn how to use Koikatsu studio, maybe get a number of people likeminded and make your own game. This is NOT a "don't like it make your own game hurr hurr" insult. I think the changes are, flat out dogshit. I'd be more interested in what people who actually take interest in a game with a little soul in it than making multiple characters more androgynous to appeal to?.... I have no idea.

Now this thread have became a dogshit lmfao. I honestly don't care about the rework as rework basically means a new game tbh (Considering you change parts of the stories and characters in rework). If you enjoy the game then play it otherwise just get the fuck outta here. Complaining about shits won't achieve anything. None of the paying people will visit this thread or even agree with us. I think it stupid to support someone financially for so long without any contents and is basically a scam. Previous game already had quite a good amounts of problems (ignoring the bugs and tedious sandbox), bad body proportions, loli/shota looking characters and incest. All of these goes against patreon tos so it no wonder that this game is getting reworked. I personally won't have any complaint if snat make constant releases when all of these bs is completed but unlikely. Maybe he will take even longer since he doesn't like how something looks.
I was hoping to get this exact response. You see, it's perfectly fine for you to call me this, I don't mind. I just want to point out, that you're basically saying the only ones who get to comment on any sort of design, work, idea, are those who explicitly love the game. Me saying the game is going to fail is my opinion, and it's blunt and even to the point of being rude, fair. But it's a valid opinion. And that makes you, and everyone who thinks like you, the same whiney sort of baby that I am as you called me. At the very least my extremist comments resulted in some discourse over whether or not people find it agreeable what the came is coming up with, what flow it's going towards, which really is the overall goal of my posts. I want people to be able to say if they dislike something, without losing confidence to shmuck posts like yours calling them names at every turn. Sure, you're not the worst offender and I certainly have it coming for my attitude, but you're just an example, and still an offender either way. Anyways, this is my last comment on this thread, as I have nothing further to tack on, am not paying for the development, or anything else that would bring value to my posts. Hopefully this game won't be going down the, again in my opinion, drain. I'll be seeing that whenever the eventual remake update drops, and I'll freely admit to being in the wrong if it's good, to me.

I don't know what thread you've been reading but people have always criticized snats, hell even when the game first came out people were complaining that they didn't want trap content and the game was garbage because of that. Like I said you're entitled to your own opinion. It's ok to criticize the dev, I personally am not sure about some of the changes he made, like the mc and jeanne's design. But when you come here acting like you're the arbiter of good taste it just makes you look kind of pathetic to be honest. But hey if that makes you happy, more power to you.
