Definitely worth letting it sit for a while and get some more content. I've played it and honestly it isn't bad, the writing is decent at least and the animations and models feel pretty solid as well, but I don't feel like there's all that much right now. Maybe once we actually get to the hospital and even back home, that would be a decent point to jump back in.

This has been one of my fav games on the site, my thoughts on the remake / prologue:
pros
- new mechanics of mouse hover icons is fun
- Kalakh is cool
- Ariadne scene
- the remade characters look decent (there's only 2 Gwendollyn and Ariadne)
cons
- personally not excited for the inevitable walkthrough needed to get scenes with the new "Gwendollyn will remember this" type mechanic. For example already: with Kalakh there are 2 different scenes for the 2 dialogue options not requiring intelligence. And if I want to try to see what the 3rd intelligence option says, I need to replay all the way back to a dialogue option with gwendollyn I believe for an intelligence boost. I'm hoping scenes like this are replayable with new stats you get throughout the game because otherwise we're talking multiple playthroughs.
***Furthermore, Rollback is now locked after a major choice so in order to try out these other dialogue options you have to save scum constantly at dialogue in case it was an important choice.

Personally I'm understanding of the remake, but also sad that the good parts of the game probably won't be remade for 1 year +++ of dev time when I really just wanted more of the same quality content.

Honestly, I am disappointed but I knew something like this was coming a while back due to the fact he had stated he wanted to make a 2d version of the game instead so that he'd be able to fill it with more characters and character as doing an open world 3d version was gonna be nearly impossible by himself. So frankly, This remake will last til he burns out again, fucks up the code again, or something else before just dropping it to try and start his 2d design

I really don't want to pile on as i'm not hating the remake so far, (up to Ariadne's nipple licking scene), but if there is one thing i am already completely fucking sick of to the most extreme extent it's the utterly ridiculous overuse of the 'whack' sound effect. Fuck me, i think i've heard it about 500 times by this point, it's insane, half the conversations so far are just 'whack' every 5 words, it's entirely unthinkable that Snatz could possibly think it wouldn't get annoying after the hundredth time let alone the five hundredth. On a much more minor note, the sex scenes are more absurd this time around, cumming 20 times a session is just stupid, it's not hot, it's just weird.
I honestly had low expectations of the new update, then i saw the change log a few days ago and started to have hope again. now after reading the feedback in here, my expectations are low once again.
my least favorite part of the game was all the meaningless sex scenes that were in it. seems like the prologue has a ton of it. also, not really into games that have stats and karma systems. it annoying to need to walk through when i just want to jerk it to a porn game. kind of a bummer that this game added that.
i guess we will wait to see how long it takes for the next update to come out and what the content is like before I lose all hope.

^This, One thing I'm not at all a fan of is the stat mechanic and scenes being locked behind it, having to start the game over and skip all the way to where I left off just to see one scene that wasnt unlocked gets pretty tiresome.
Everything about the remake (i'd say) is pretty good, would definitely recommend holding off after newer versions of the game are released.

I laughed at first thinking it was a pheonix wright text sound effect ripoff.
But the intro text sequence used it excessively and annoyed me. After that I didn't notice it as bad but maybe because I turned the volume down on sound effects lol.
The only thing I can criticize right now is the duration of the update. It is too short. That wouldn`t be a problem if this was a completely new game, but if you do a remake the first upload should be the entire prologue till` reincarnation. Or at least have a really good scene like we had on the og ver. with Tomoe.
In the future, I hope the dev stops to forcefully push scenes with random npcs, and focus more on the main cast. And return Jeanne to the og skin, sorry but it was better and unironically fitting with how the story treats the futas, so far

I knew this is gonna happen, you can drag out the length of the game until it’s finished which gives you an excuse to keep charging money. I’m predicting the next update will come out every 6 months again.
it’s a sad reality because the developer knows once the game is finished, most people will unsubscribe unless they continue a new project. This is a business.
I am a huge fan of the first iteration of this game and I think that as it was going it was doing really well but was running towards an end. I think that ending the project and starting on a brand new game would have made the most sense, as I love the content that this creator makes. Truly they do amazing work.
That being said, the content of this new update is giant donkey dick. Don't play and just wait until an update maybe 10months - 1 yr from now when (if) they go back to making content closer to the first game.

A remake, and this one weighs around 500 mb's compared to the previous version that already had 7 gb, that means that in terms of content it shouldn't have shit, and I liked perfectly how the original looked, plus I didn't really see many complaining about it, so if I see that it takes months to release the updates and still doesn't reach the point where the previous version left off, I will assume that the developer is just trying to squeeze money
I was expecting there to be tantrums when I noticed the "0.1 beta remake" in the title. I'm surprised by the people trying to be actually nuanced with their criticism instead of it all being the typical "ZOMG THIS GAEM IS A SCAMZ NAO!!!!!" bullshit. I respect the idea of remaking this VN, personally. It's been some time since this game was worked on and quite a few new mods have been added to Koikatsu, including things that probably helps the dev get something closer to the kind of visuals they want. It's obviously going to piss off the people wanting instant gratification when it comes to new plot, but the addition of a heaven path AND an expansion to the Hospital portion of the prologue seems really interesting and might be a way to satiate people wanting a bit of new stuff to come with the rebuilt old stuff. It's also nice to see hell be more than just an asset-free void. It shows promise, but I might stick to the last old version for now since I still haven't progressed too much in it and wait to see what the remake is truly like.

Well I'll check back on this game by 2026 if the dev is still working on it by then. Seriously this didn't need to be remade much like most of the more popular games on here. I whole heartily think Summer Time Saga will announce a remake by the end of this year before we even sniff the idea of the Judith update.
