I dunno this slice of life thing doesn't seem to be working for this developer. If you write a story with no plot you are just making episodes of "friends" where everything changes every episode and nothing falls in place. So far in this story we have gone from a possible paranormal story, to just normal women having normal days with steriotypical embarassing encounters with a foreign man in the house. This author said things would be different but so far everything is exactly the same down to the really long updates that show exactly what we are all thinking... The "story" is unmaintainable without some type of narrative or plot. Even a journal which is as slice of life as it is, is chronological; and has a narrative that emerges over time. Even plots emerge if you read a journal long enough imagined or not. This is just wild heres a story here, 6 months later heres a story here, 6 months later heres a story here, 1 year later heres a story here, 1 year later heres a story here... it just isn't followable at this point. The original "plot" had something this guy might have eventually obtained but he seems fixed in this random episode slice of life shit that is quite frankly not working. It is quite hard to write a story with no plot, or over arching theme.

Well good luck Carbon, you are going to need it.

(yes I am aware it is my first post, and my last, i've been lurking over your vn since it was released, and this is the only one thus far that warrented in my opinion my honest thoughts on it)

Maybe I'm wrong (part 2), but in no one part of the game was never stated that. Only in a dialogue Maeve said she is a werewolf, but it was more a joke than a statement and during the sex scene between Sean and Angel we can see the face of a vampire woman behind Angel. But it was a poster, not some sort of presence, so there was nothing actually paranormal in the game; at least for now.

Okay I have to respond here... That is amazing.
Now that I think about it... it may have been a ploy to deceive us all along.
Truly hinting at the manipulation and control of the short episodic blips we get as updates every year or so.
Perhaps we are the ones that are the true characters in this story. Perhaps we are the ones that made this all out to be more than if ever truly was. Well if that is the case well played Carbon, but my review still stands.

Actually we have already discussed about the fact Shannon is playing a game called F95, in which a bunch of guys discuss about a game called Unleashed created by a certain CarbonBlue…

EDIT
From the Developer Notes in the opening post:
"People are conditioned to play VN's the same way, because nearly all VN's play the same. Unleashed is different. There is something else going on here, and, if you are interested, it is up to you to figure out. You should know some basic truths first:
-The game is not contained to the game. The code is part of the game. This forum is part of the game. In each area there is misleading information.
-The girls in this game will lie to you.
-I will lie to you.

When ever did I present Unleashed as a supernatural tale? And I thought this would be clear:
Unleashed is a slice of life Visual Novel designed to play around with your expectations. To do that it begins in the stereotypical way that many VN's begin. You might see hints throughout that allude to things being a little different.
If you're expecting "supernatural" or whatever the whole time, then I can't play around with your expectations, can I?

A song can't be all chorus.

Why not? He needs to expect something, so there's something to play around with.
I'm not even sure what the expectations for a stereotypical VN would be. And if the VN is explicitly designed to play with our expectations, won't we expect our expectations to be played around with? The mandatory visit to the clothing store is pretty meta from this perspective.

At the begining of the game Olivia seems the usual maternal MILF, but actually she prove to be the most savage of the bunch. At the same way Angel seems the usual gothic slut, but actually she is a fervent christian. Shannon seems the most savage girl, but actually she is the most introvert. Maeve seems the classical manheater, but actually is the most caring; almost maternal. I suppose this is what CarbonBlue means when he say "Unleashed is a slice of life Visual Novel designed to play around with your expectations. To do that it begins in the stereotypical way that many VN's begin. You might see hints throughout that allude to things being a little different."

How's that update in "one or two weeks" coming on?

You can expect character development. That's it. Slice of life means this game is about character development and progression. That's what this VN is about. If you need more, if you need your pornographic visual novels to be about, "lockdowns, government overreach, restriction of rights, ufos" or whatever else, then you are not the target audience and you should go find one of those.

This is not me lying or exaggerating. I am being completely open and honest with you here: this game is about characters and your relationship with them and that's all it will ever be. Even when the big reveal happens, it's just going to be about the characters but in a bit more unique way.

If you need a villain or a murder mystery or a farm boy growing up to save the world story, you're not going to get it from Unleashed and you should move on.

Also, "the game has good writing but it doesn't live up to the promise that it never made, 1-star" is the most F95 review ever, lol.
