Ok ,i will try to help but bear in mind im still VERY NOOB when it comes to this stuff.
so to start,. i would get a few pics from the web of the same person , prefferbly 4K resoulution but ive had good results from 1080p resolution also.
the best pics to use are the suggestions that facegen itself makes or as close as you can get to them. its a bit of trial and error but ive gotten away with images like the ones in the BAD section with some editing and trickery in photoshop / 3dpaint if you simply cant find a good one, BUT ive also had the best image possible that turned out awful so its trial and error to be honest.
use photoshop (or similar) to close the mouths if you cant get an image without a smile and use paint/3Dpaint to edit and remove bad shadows etc if the lighting is off.

i dont generally use a profile picture in facegen as results are not that good but i do use one when in VAM making tweaks.
once im satisfied with the facegen outcome, i throw the results in VAM , load up textures and morph and tweak the face shape with the sliders as facgen can and is most likley off alot. i use a programme onTopReplica to overlay the image i used from facegen like in this tutorial from Alter3go on youtube.

also , if the textures arent quite right or have bad patches and artifacts i also tweak the in paint/3Dpaint to fix them.
once happy with the look and texture use the sliders in tab , skin materials 1 and 2 to adjust the skin colour if needed
and job done.

these are the steps in my process to make my looks , in short which i hope are more understandable.

1. find 1 good image and edit in photoshop / paint to remove defects so to speak like bad shadows , spots , smiles etc , if required.

2.Use this 1 image in facegen and ONLY this image (no profile/ side images), if outcome is good throw the files in VAM folders and add to a model for next step. If the outcome is poor , for example ive had a good result in facegen BUT with a HUGE nose , you can fix this in facegen itself if you hold ctrl and right click and drag on the facegen image/model. (dont go mad as you can get some horrific results lol. I only use facgen like this for initial tweaks, most of the slider work is done in VAM itself.
View attachment 1323042 View attachment 1323043 View attachment 1323074 example of small tweak like shortening the nose and chin.
View attachment 1323050 example of horrifying tweak on the same model Lol. ps the morph created from facegen WILL make your VAM model look like this , so if you want to play around with it you can.

3. Once happy with facegen results , load them in VAM with textures and morphs added to a model ,Use OnTopReplica to overlay the image i used in facegen next to the model im working on and use the sliders in VAM to tweak the face shape (if needed). like this .

4.When satisfyied with the shape etc , Use paint or similar if you need to and edit the textures and touch them up and your done.

i appolgise in advance if nobody can understand a word of this , this is my first time trying to explain my process to others and im very NOOBish still but i hope it helps. If unsure about anything , feel free to ask. (y)
But how to use the .dsf File as a morph in Vam?
Should be placed in custom/atom/person/morphs/female. Then start VAM, load your blank generic model and search the morph name in the morph tab to apply.

Is anyone have last biochrisd looks?

I'd say that the other Miranda (Mass effect) you can find via the search bar looks a lot better. Hopefully this one however gets improved upon at a later date

Whatever happened to rukk? Seems like he just disappeared suddenly.
I was going to ask the same thing. Also, AshAuryn and GabiRX. I don't know where to get in contact with GabiRX, as I have a few questions him/her. Hope they are doing well.

Question? Is there à limit to piling up .var in "AddonPackages" folder?

It seems to me I can't find all of them in game.

(Even through different way (look, preset, scene...)

For exemple:
.var package seems to be clear including:
Custom (with asset, Atom, Clothing... etc...)
Saves (with scene)
and meta.json file...

"AddonPackages" folder contains actually 438 Packages!:eek:

Edit Finally find them (forget to slide limit up!

I know that there is actually a thread to share stuff, but is there a VAM thread on this board for help and tips?
I don't want to inflate this thread unnecessarily, but VAM is not self-explanatory and there is so much to ask. And here you almost always get an answer.
An example : I have the problem that I have some individual textures .For example only the torso .That has wonderful stretch marks. When I use this texture in looks, I often have the problem that this torso texture absolutely does not match the other textures. Even if I equip a look with all textures and then notice that the head texture absolutely does not match the rest of the color. Is it possible to adjust the textures of the body color directly in Vam?

Generally you can mix and match groups. Diffuse / Specular / Normal / Decal and still get good results, but when changing Head / Torso / Limbs / Gens within a group you are usually going to get issues unless they were built off the same texture in the first place. Even if there was a way of altering the tint of an individual part in VAM it would still visible seams because of differences in the skin detail.

You can sometimes get away with it on the head, because the seams run under the hairline and behind the jaw. Or on the gens, by removing the texture and setting it to auto generate from the torso.

just changed it in the savefile. "dancin.mp3" is included in the * .var. and "smoothmoves" I have in my standard folder Custom / Scripts. Simply open and edit with a ZIP manager. I just don't feel like downloading a new Var package again and again. Then something else is needed again. Sorry for my Englisch, i`m German (Translate with Google)

Updated Community Pose Pack to vers 4 -->

Added latest amazing Standing Poses version 2 from klphgz.
Some more bondage poses from VirtAmateur. So that's 1760 pose presets in total.
Removed the bundled morphs which were all from AshAuryn.
Fixed the dependencies.
Some poses are off by half the body unfortunately but still usable.

Should be good. Maybe.

As more and more creators are doing pose presets, I hope to not publish any updates, at least not for free content.
Bigpacks are quite handy for the lazy you are but if you find the same pose preset from original poster, it's better to depend on his var. This is only if you load a pose at runtime. If you just load the pose manually, you won't be linking it so it doesnt matter which pose pack you use.

All credits to the creators of these poses and morphs.

Enjoy!

Hi,

yes with Render to VR

I recommend to lower the Slice Width Setting to lowest possible.
Otherwise you will have a lot of Aliasing.
Just try it out and you will see what i mean if you Render in higher or default Slices Width.
With lowest Settings here the Picture is very crisp in detail.

You have to take care that all Menus are deactivated otherwise they will be captured with the Render Process.

Each Pic will be saved as a Single JPG and then finally converted to a Mp4.
On my RTX 3080 i9 it takes like 1 minute fo 1 pic, you need at least 30 for 1 Second of Video.

Video Results are great.
Even 3DVR Pictures look premium.

As a last tip do not abort the Video Render Process if you started it since the MP4 file will be corrupted then.
What you can do is to check the generated Jpgs since they will be kept until it finishes.

For more Infos like Filename Tagging check the HUB Discussion.
Whoa! Thank you so much! I didn't expect to get a detailed response. What kind of app do you use to view it? I currently have Oculus Quest 2, I am currently running a 3090 and underutilized, might as well put it to good use. Are there any video hosting site where I can download user uploaded videos to try them out? Thanks!
