Thank you for this.Hi ! .....You must be registered to see the links
I use Belle and Ellie models because their bodies mostly go well with other looks. Just use appearance presets to load the look you want.It looks like a nice scene, but I really hate Belle Delphine and her stupid Dark Crystal face.
Bookmark this link:I am new to VAM in general, and looking for environments, checked hub, checked torrent, anywhere else i can look? Thanks.
I have ran many communities with 10's of thousands of members. I can tell you right now that it wont be a success, you will lose the live people interaction. Alot of people come to this post because of the randomness they might find. They might see requests on the fly they never knew they wanted to see. This has been discussed extensively over the past months, but I'll bite:
1. Keeping a single thread for a forum worth of content is crazy and messy, people keep coming here asking for the same things over and over and over again because they can't find shit.
2.Requests are easier to be solved if they don't get buried under 50 re-requests and bug reports in an hour.
3. Full threads have more links, meaning fewer problems with dead links, especially when there are creators actively antagonizing and shooting down links here.
4. Tags, prefixes, previews, the LU, better search indexing, generally all of the cool tools the forum offers that don't exist in a single thread.
And if you must go there, losing all views of any single thread in the forum would not even show up in the statistics, so yeah, less traffic doesn't matter nearly as much as pushing the VaM section (and by extension the whole forum) to a higher standard.

You can also go through this entire thread. You can skim it, just look for screenshots and download links. It is time consuming, yes, just get used to it.
I do agree with you, the whining and useless discussion is part of the charm. I think both methods of sharing can coexist.I have ran many communities with 10's of thousands of members. I can tell you right now that it wont be a success, you will
...blabla... ;-)
This section of the forum is about to become as dead as the rest request/mod sections.
Any update on those scripts? I'd love to give them a try. If it's not ready for public consumption, I don't mind helping as a tester, if possible!I finished a set of scripts that completely clean VAM VARs from duplicate morphs, clothes, and hair while preserving the integrity of the game (no errors and everything loads) this reduces the disk space that the VAR files use and also loading times.
You need to have python and some modules (i will make a step by step manual for this)
To do this my script first scan what VARS you have and compares them in a SQLite database that contains my know VAR clothes, then it will enter each and every single one of the VARs and when it detect a duplication it will erease it from the VAR leaving only the author ones but preserving the presets and extra textures that some creators add on top of others work.
Another script will scan all your VARs and delete the duplicate morphs (speeding the scene loading times) this will need you to install my morph collection into your Custom Morph directory (i will make a tutorial about this)
Another script will make the same thing that the first does but with hairs.
And finally the last script will remove all the dependencies from your VARS, this will speed up the loading times, and sometimes cause you to have problems in your scenes if you dont really have all the requiered dependencies, most of us have everything anyway, but if you dont you will have to pay extra attention to the error log to see what you are missing.
I been testing this the last month and it works really well, but this is something you all like to try? (i mean just writing the damn manual bores me i love to code but not a big fan of documentation lol, so if there is not enough interest i will keep it to myself)
I just think closing the thread is a horrible idea. It will decrease engagement and force people to jump around several different threads that may or may not be of interest. Also, some people periodically just drop a folder link of an amalgam of stuff that people can skim through.See the Asset Request area, and for discussions, there's always the main thread.
It's been known for months that this thread would be closed, and we have through all this been encouraging people to move to the newly refurbished asset sections, and to be fair people from this thread have been stepping and populated the VaM release section with a large number of mods in these past months. As for what's not there, all I can say is that it takes as much effort to post a link in the req area as to post a link here, what happens next is entirely up to the community.
I beleive the same, this will indeed affect VAM in total and be a bit negative.I just think closing the thread is a horrible idea. Forcing everyone to the assets model is not "help" for us. What happens next is NOT entirely up to the community.. if that were the case, the thread wouldn't be closing. If it truly is up to us to decide, then do a public poll and let us all see the results and let's go with the vote.
Don't get me wrong, if this is your board you can do what you want and that should be the case, but don't say its "up to us" when it's clearly up to "you" whether you flip that switch or not. "We" don't want this.
I can hardly agree more. This is exactly what I think will happen and also -- as stated before -- the interaction is part of the fun for coming to this thread (almost) every day. But I guess we all know you are right and there won't be anyone betting against that (except one of the mods maybe). I would hate if it has to come to a point where you are proven right regarding that forecast of future events as far as the VAM community here is concerned.Once you make people request items in each separate thread the traffic will dwindle to almost nothing because people dont want to click 20 for threads to see what people are asking for. Your average user that requests here and there isn't going to be making threads. The asset section for other games is proof it'll be dead because they are already. If some of those games had a live thread with real time interaction people would stay around more.
Uploading files in a clean and orderly is what this change is all about.what most people don't like is having to go through 30+ pages of off-topic chat and requests to find links that are broken. Having an area where you can upload files in a clean and orderly fashion makes it so much easier to download files. But I get what people mean. After all, this is just my opinion
There is not mod request section tho, the others are doing just fine, we have over 9k games, 8k Daz assets and 2.5k comics/animation (mind you the last is considerable more time consuming with collection that go up to 50-60GB).request/mod sections.
I just posted above, this is one of the reasons for the change, since threads mean more study and numerous, even the devs who pay people to sit all day sniping links can't do shit to stop people from downloading their games here.Especially because a lot of the links in the very early posts are going to be dead, either from expiration, or uploader removal, or DMCA takedowns, etc.
Like i said many times i love the idea of Asset Release/Request, you have said that this thread wont be ereased just locked, and in my understanding we can continue to use the main thread (i assume is: https://f95zone.to/threads/virt-a-mate-v1-19-meshed-vr.6881/)Uploading files in a clean and orderly is what this change is all about.

Im working on the release, maybe today or tomorroy i will post in asset release the scripts and instructions on how to use it.Any update on those scripts? I'd love to give them a try. If it's not ready for public consumption, I don't mind helping as a tester, if possible!
Sounds good to me. Thanks for the update!Im working on the release, maybe today or tomorroy i will post in asset release the scripts and instructions on how to use it.
The VAM section will hugely diminish once they lock this thread. Sharing will become stale and boring. Requests will pop up and get filled maybe or not... it'll get a few likes but the request thread will be dead with 2 or 3 replies because there is no farther interest. People will just download the file and not reply. The download link will eventually fail and have broken releases... Uploaders will get no satisfaction from that and wont feel much important to the community anymore.the time is running out but if possible i would love to continue having a community instead of just plain file sharing.
