I hope there's going to be someplace else for us to gather up.
I still don't get it. Why not just create a new thread. You can even call it the same, maybe add continued... in the end, everyone updates their bookmarks and we are set. We can even add a last post here with a link to the new thread, making it easier to find for everybody that missed the switch. Maybe a mod can even then directly lock this thread now to make sure we don't have two threads running, even though it did not reach the limit (I don't kow what the limit is, but mayb 1000 pages of posts?).

It's not that the content is forbidden here, otherwise they would (and should) have immediately locked it. So no, it's allowed and of course the most sensible thing is to just create a new thread like it is always done in other forums as well. It costs less time than me posting this reply (but I guess being a noob and usually just listening in and enjoying the screenshots you post -- until I get a PC powerful enough to run VAM myself most likely ;) -- I think it would be better for this to be done by some established user).

This forum is going to suck when they shut this thread down in 2 weeks.
Why they would shut down a thread that generated over 6 million views is mind blowing. It isnt hurting anything and generates tons of traffic weekly which helps in analytics drawing new traffic to the site.
Oh well I guess we will see what happens.
This has been discussed extensively over the past months, but I'll bite:

1. Keeping a single thread for a forum worth of content is crazy and messy, people keep coming here asking for the same things over and over and over again because they can't find shit.

2.Requests are easier to be solved if they don't get buried under 50 re-requests and bug reports in an hour.

3. Full threads have more links, meaning fewer problems with dead links, especially when there are creators actively antagonizing and shooting down links here.

4. Tags, prefixes, previews, the LU, better search indexing, generally all of the cool tools the forum offers that don't exist in a single thread.

And if you must go there, losing all views of any single thread in the forum would not even show up in the statistics, so yeah, less traffic doesn't matter nearly as much as pushing the VaM section (and by extension the whole forum) to a higher standard.

For me (as a pure viewer -- so surely not the standard user of this thread) this would be worse than it is now. I want to come to this forum to find everything related to the VAM 'scene' (if you can call it that). What has been shared, what are the people's opinion on things, look at the images (and OK, once I have a PC that can run VAM, also download stuff -- I already have a collection of things that looked cool, even if I am not sure if I have all dependencies ;) ).

So redknight , what do you suggest how this should be run in the future? Every request a new thread? Right now, this thread grows by 3? pages a day, which is acceptable I think, but for an alternative approach you would create maybe 10 new threads each day. As long as I can have a one point entry, nothing would really change for me (as I said: I am not the standard user, so just one workflow example how I get up to date). But right now, I can create a bookmark of the last post of this thread and every day (night) I can then read everything from there to the end, create a new bookmark, rinse and repeat the next evening.

Honestly, as long as all posted links are correctly placed in the right place AS WELL as here, I can't see an issue?
It would be easy to find posted files by tags/search etc and people here could continue to enjoy the thread as they are.
I honestly feel it's just the mods are sick of dealing with cleaning up the arguments in this thread that they want it gone.

10 new threads per day is very reasonable, that's the same rough amount of new games we have per day, and game threads take much more work.

You can watch follow the LU as you do with games, we have added a vam prefix for that so you can go there and easily find what VaM releases were made recently.

Yes, I am asking myself if the (vast?) majority of users in this thread would like to continue the way it is now and don't violate any rules of the forum of course, why not follow what users want instead of what moderators think is best? I thought this should be FOR the users and just moderated if something illegal comes up.

I have EXACTLY this already as a bookmark, but only a small amount of releases posted here show up and all the requests don't show (I am also interested in the stuff people look for and not only the releases itself) as well as the discussion that happens on the side. But this might only be me. ;)

See the Asset Request area, and for discussions, there's always the main thread.

It's been known for months that this thread would be closed, and we have through all this been encouraging people to move to the newly refurbished asset sections, and to be fair people from this thread have been stepping and populated the VaM release section with a large number of mods in these past months. As for what's not there, all I can say is that it takes as much effort to post a link in the req area as to post a link here, what happens next is entirely up to the community.

I don't mean that the assets section should not be used or that assets should not be properly tagged or maybe that assets should ONLY be posted here in this thread (or a follow up one).
But as someone that enjoys also the discussion about tools for instance and the whole discussion around the looks and the guessing which creator created which look if not known or things like that I would miss this part if there were not at least one discussion thread on the side that I could also follow.

Anyone know how to actually use the animations in Gangbang your bitch. Bitch (Man01), the scene loads up fine called like "Man01" in the scene top menu. But no U.I buttons to switch scenes or animations etc etc. Any help is greatly appreciated. : Z

Add a custom unity asset in VAM, then select the gangbang asset. In the dropdown, you can pick the background character. If you need more, add more unity assets.

Thanks, good to have confirmation that the main thread will be staying for all the other things we use this thread for. But is there a plan to prevent that thread just becoming a continuation of this one, with all the asset requests and shares? Will it be mod enforced, or an etiquette thing?

I get what they are trying to do. But just shutting down the thread is IMHO not the right way to encourage migration. I'm sure the mods are busy folks, but the way I'd handle the migration is to start from this moment on, every time someone posts an asset/scene/look here as a download to build a corresponding post to the Asset page. People will eventually stop checking here for new stuff and move to the new page.

I've been checking it periodically since it was announced but for now it's just 99% looks. Hell they only just recently added a VAM tag for requests, which made it nearly impossible to find any requests. I just fear that with the discontinuation of this thread that we are going to hit a dry spell for content as requests aren't nearly as easily visible in the content section vs this forum.

Thank you! I was trying to figure out how to get the preview images on the vam release page like that for like 20 minutes the other day. I couldn't figure it out, so I gave up and came back here. I didn't think to check latest updates.

To be honest, I am going to kinda miss coming in here and seeing Reign and C3DM trolling everyone. Lastly, what about all of the useful information and tutorials that you can only find in this thread? Is this thread going to be locked or deleted?

Looking for this if any has to share?
Also this!

Yes, it will be locked, meaning everything here will stay available, only new posts will not happen.

Even if this thread will be locked and new assets and asset requests will only be posted each in a new thread in the associated section and this might be enforce by moderators, we can still have one thread for the associated discussions I guess. So, if this is not it, which thread should we use? redknight mentioned "the main thread.". Can someone link what the 'main thread' is where we should migrate to with the discussion that is NOT assets or asset requests? I also have a bookmark for this one: https://f95zone.to/threads/virt-a-mate-v1-19-meshed-vr.6881/page-68#post-6381054 where mostly new keys were posted once VAM updates were still released. Or what is the 'main thread' we are supposed to be using from now on?
