is this only for 1.17.0.0 or does it work with any higher version of 1.17 such as 1.17.0.6?
The key works across all 1.17.xxxxxx. When 1.18.xxxxx comes out, you'll need a new key.
Is it still just playable with Vr or occolus rift? I've seen some scenes on Reddit and hoped I could get a taste of this game

There are both VR and non-VR (flat-screen) mode. You'll need a good PC to run it though.

Nobody has done anything like it and it's really hard to make, he uses expensive programs to achieve those results. I hate patreon as much as anyone else but this guy really deserves it, there is no minimum on his page so you only need to donate a dollar

This game has huge potential. It can do a lot of things. And with mods it's even better (like Skyrim actually, without the bugs
)
