Lol can't believe it. Soft body physics was costing me half of my performance. (from 30 to above 60) Now the performance problem is completely gone.

I just got back and forgot the names of these addons while I'm trying to set up, tell me pls

1. A session Plug-in that automatically loads an appearance to chosen morphs
2. Mod that easily loads the looks from a scene (This one is not a plug-in. From what I remember, I had download something and put it in the VaM directory because it changes something in the editor menu)
3. A plug-in that reduces the clipping of pubes

Browser Assist by JayJayWon (also my default session plugin) is the best all-in-one solution for your first 2 needs and many other.

never tested anything related (pubic hair), but this looks promising for its automatic function... if googling you find something better let us know, eventually

I think, VaM come with an SDK Stuff on Patreon.
A full doc for specific MVR Type.
sorry, I don't check meshed patreon since an eternity. What I remember about is that he was never starting his vam project as an open-source, probably besides his legitimate obvious commercial interest, also for genesis 2 related Daz3d copyright legal motivations... just my guess

How do I resolve this?
I tried it on morphs with smaller breast but they still clip through when they move.
try on that cloth menu: Customize > Adjustements > Surface Offset (+)

or even: (same main menu) Physics > Distance scale (and also test other physics parameters, they target quite explicit functions) ... when you see all good, don't forget to save your edited parameters as "new Custom preset" > write a name or a number and click > Save

(High Quality Physics can always eat some vam performance)

My usual go-to for increasing performance is to disable glutes soft body (the heaviest of the two) and if you're not gonna use it the Breast soft body, I also try to optimize the lighting in a scene by having no more than 2 light sources but I don't limit it through the settings, I test disabling lights to see which has the less visual impact (E.g back lights).

Another thing you should keep a look at is how heavy the CUA scene is and maybe looking at disabling some objects with the CUA Editor plugin if possible, also if you're not using any plugin that depends on it you can disable Advanced Colliders, keep in mind it might make clothing and hair clip tho.

And lastly but also most work intensive, I open up .vars and resize textures that are too big, specially normal maps, that goes on for your taste or how much you're willing to compromise in exchange for performance but I find 8k normals and specular maps a waste.

You can try the offset like people said, you can also try changing the collision radius.
I get that with some clothes when either Advanced Colliders or Breast Soft Body is disable, try checking with these enabled too.

... 100% agree. Per curiosity, I was testing yesterday disabling unused morphs category with browser assist (option targeting all those person morphs "not" needed in single active scene) and I see absolutely no difference in vam performance even after a restart. I have excellent fps also in VR with quest 3, that's why I do not care if the experiment failed, maybe that solution can be useful for those guys with (+/-) 500GB var list, but only if they do not care radically editing appearance morphs in real time.

guys i cant help but remember a game similar to virt a mate but seems more simple to start. I remember the example characters were a blonde short hair girl and you can choose between shoes and clothes and i remember it having a red catsuit from the start. I though it was virt a mate at first but the game feels vastly different. i remember it was in this site before? Was it like a prequel to virt a mate or another game all together? can anyone help remind me?

i'm getting more and more tired of VAM... I spent more time waiting to download dependences and load the scene than playing the scene itself. And most of them are simple fuck loop (sometimes one for scene) with slider for speed and generic vammoans... With mostly poor female bodies and bad poses - not anatomic accurate And yet it's best in its class :(

I've always thought that VAM scenes generally have room for improvement, let's call it that, there are some really talented creators who make good scenes. VAM is a heavy tool, yes there are many friendly helpers here and in the hub, but it's just far from simple, and what do you really get besides endless "sex loops", and botched attempts at storytelling from some who suck the power out of your computer!?. What has always really irritated me is when you create models "with not typical proportions" (I do that a lot), expect a lot of fuss on every parameter, frustrating even after 5 years of nerding around with things. Try and see Lex ( her name ?, MeshedVR model) her proportions, it's actually a ridiculous perception of what a body looks like. For me, VAM is just a thing to create models, everything else is simply not good enough, if it will be better in VAM 2, one can hope, but I'm not very optimistic.

It's like any community-driven content platform... you get a whole lot of junk with a few stunning exceptions. If you delve into the Paid Scenes and Looks, it's night and day.

nope, i sware its virt a mate, maybe an older version or another program similar to it. Just like virtamate with black background and i remember one of the main starting outfits was a red catsuit and you can chose to unzip or zipped version on the fly.

Yes, in general. But VAM actually has a lot of good stuff that is free, and a lot of crap that costs money. I would be so arrogant and say that if half of its users would just stop trying to create things (primarily models) then the overall picture would be much better. When you visit the hub it sometimes feels like kindergarten children have been allowed to draw the forbidden things, it seems cartoonish and childish. It may be my memory is failing me, but in 2019-21 I remember the quality was on a completely different level than now. Now everyone seems to have to contribute rookie products. I know a lot of really skilled creators have left the community for various reasons.

Unfortunately, even some authors' paid scenes look terrible, and sometimes it's unclear what you're paying for. Where's the good quality? And sometimes, even a free scene looks better than a paid one.
