just 5fps on desktop? thats not right at all lol. test it on an empty scene. make new scene and add just one person atom. see how much you get. then add 3 lights. fps when no movement should be 100+ in your case. if not something is wrong.

things that tank fps in a scene are mostly few things:
0. soft physics. cant really it turn off without big limitations. so keep this on. also check if you accidently enabled "high quality physics" in userpreferences. its very heavy on cpu so keep that off.
1. hair with high curve density and hair multiplier. usually one or two hairs with such settings wont cause issues, but 10+ hairs will tanks fps. some creators like to do this.
2. lots of clothing with physics enabled and iterations set too high (more than 3). disable phy for ones you dont need. and vam doesnt handle more than 3 iterations well anyway, it creates more clipping.
3. lots of lights. 3 lights are enough in most cases. disable the lights entirely or atleast the shadows.
4. CustomUnityAssets or CUAs can also tank fps if they are not optimized. i have seen some scenes with cua that has absurd number of polygons. vam already runs like shit, combine it with unoptimized assets is just pain. turn them off to see if it brings back fps.

also check out the . this one is mandatory imo.
i'm still quite new to vam i tried cpu patch but didn't see any diffrence i checked with task manager seems to be working like it should im getting 70 to 80 fps on vr on demo maps that already included but when i try to run this creators scenes half of them gives 20-30 other half 0-10 doesn't matter what setting i'm on especcialy last uploaded scene:club restroom one im getting 5-10 fps (sorry for broken english :)

If anyone knows any other sources (besides f95 or VAMHub) where I could find VAM environment collections, whether as .var files, torrent packs, or custom Unity asset bundles, please share a link

I don't know any other places, and you probably already know this, but ZoneGFX comes in clutch when I need custom or complex environments to download. The process of porting it from Daz to Unity then to VaM is easy when you get the hang of it. It's better than sketchfab where sometimes the textures outright don't look right when you put them into Unity

rx6700xt
m2 installed game
im getting that fps on all settings setting except on very low on very low i get 45-60 but that look garbage

trying on quest 3 normal default res just meta quest link app not steam
Yes, but there are ways to help. I have similar spec

9 outta 10 times is the hairs.
Under hair Physic tab, lower the Curve Density and Hair Multiplier.
If you take out too much hair, you can increase the Width under the Look tab. It will help it look much better.
Or you can use the GiveMeFPS plugin.

Long hair tend to eat way more fps in general. Especially in VR pov when the hair is all over your face. Your fps will drop.
Most of my looks has short or tied up hair.

Forget about scene with more than 3 people.

You can have many people if you disable hair physics, clothing physics, and soft body physics on each of them.

Advanced colliders is also a performance hog, as is the high quality physics toggle.

If you strip all of the above then you can get away with as many people as you want.

i uninstalled LOL too much work just to jerk off ngl
Go back to old fashion pornhub bro XD this game only for people with patience for me if you use to mod on skyrim over 500+ mods or like game like honey select and koikatsu then VAM is for you or you a DAZ user. You cant just see VAM and hop on thinking you going install game and its magically going work like you see it.

honestly it's a janky piece of shit but there is literally no other "game" where you can view vidya waifus ripped straight from their respective franchises. the absolutely closest you can get is koikatsu but that's more for anime models.

Wish it had a central hub for stuff like virta-mate though, most stuff is kinda just scattered over the internet.

yes there is but it only works on VaM 1.22.0.3 not the latest version. the plugin is called wardrobe plugin but you wont find it on vamhub, its only on dev's , but even there i think it wont export clothing model itself even though it has the capability. Someone modified it to export clothing models on some discord server. anyway one of the updates broke the plugin. I made a post here with some more details and requesting someone to fix it but i guess its not possible.
so if you need to use this i recommend make a separate vam installation of old version (1.22.0.3), and use it solely for this plugin.
original link was on anon files so its dead now. i uploaded it on pixel drain.

Does anyone know how I can properly take Daz clothes (primarily G8M/G8F) ones and then port them into VaM? I already have autofit and can fit it on a G2M, but then when I save it as a .duf file and loading it in custom clothing creator, it doesn't fit correctly like it does in Daz. Sometimes, it only comes up to their waistline when it's meant to be a shirt.

Whenever I try importing G8M clothes and using Autofit on them to a G2M and then import that to VaM, I'm always met with an error like this:

Thanks for reply! Do you have a guide on how to export DAZ environment to VAM?

Not really a guide, as when I did it, I just had ChatGPT help me out and YOLO'd it. But what I'll tell you is that you need to select all (of the objects in Daz), then when you've done that, you export it as an OBJ or a FBX (I recommend FBX) into a folder of your choosing. Then, open Unity (2018.1.9f2, VaM only works with this one, you can download it for free), import the textures from the runtime folder of Daz3D you had into the Unity Asset Tab, then import your OBJ/FBX file which holds the exported environment. It should automatically assign the materials needed onto the FBX/OBJ mesh. If it looks finicky, you can make your own materials and put in the Color, Normal, Roughness and Metallic maps into it yourself and then drag the material onto the surface in the FBX/OBJ that you want it to be on. Ex: Dragging custom wooden PBR material to the bottom of the object.

Make sure you check generate colliders (on the Inspector tab) so it automatically makes the environment interactable by VaM characters when you import it later. Also, make sure the object in the Unity scene is at the world origin, specifically under the default directional light. For most cases, you can do this by setting it's X, Y and Z positions to 0 in the Transform tool on the right of the screen. If it doesn't look like it's 100% in the middle, you can adjust it yourself to your liking.

Once you've done all that, drag the model from your Hierarchy folder (on the left) back into the Asset Folder on the bottom. This should save it as a .prefab. On the bottom right, you can see it with its AssetBundle named "None". Click that, and press "New..", this will create a new assetbundle for you to assign the prefab to. Once you've named it, it will assign that assetbundle to it. Now, go back to your assets folder and create a new folder called AssetBundles. Then, create a new folder called Editor and inside of that folder create a C# script called BuildAssetBundles with the following code inside it: (attached .txt file)

After that, on the top of your screen, go to Assets > Build AssetBundles. Make sure that you actually have a .prefab under an asset bundle as I mentioned before, otherwise, this will do nothing. When it's done building it (it takes some time), you will see the assetbundle and its meta file in the AssetBundles folder in the Assets folder. Go to its file location by right-clicking > Show in Explorer, this will open up the AssetBundles folder in your Windows Explorer. I recommend that you pin this to quick access along with the Unity file folder whenever you wanna repeat this process. Now, in the AssetBundles Folder in the Explorer, copy ONLY the ones listed as File types, not the MANIFEST or META ones. Go to your VaM folder, then to Custom/Assets and then paste it in there. Then, make it an accessible assetbundle by adding .assetbundle to the end of it, and you're done!

Open VaM and add a CustomUnityAsset from the add Atom panel, it's under Misc. When you've done that, go to the asset and load in the file, it'll pull up the VaM File Explorer. Go to the path that you saved your .assetbundle in inside Custom/Assets and click it. After that, just load the CUAasset like usual, and now it's in your scene. Hooray!

It's honestly not that hard, I just wanted to describe every little thing so you wouldn't get messed up. I'm assuming that you already know half of this stuff, have fun!
