ok so if both versions will have the same thing why add the extra work ?? what's the purpose
just focus on the main game and put all your effort in it because as i see it the recent changes were not so good
-you are still working on the free roam (( which is pretty useless until you add what you say you want to add ))
- many complaints about lack of content (( which you respond to by saying you have busy / limited time ))
- Recent content definitely didn't set well with some players (( i myself am disappointed with how some things are currently progressing ))
so as i see it focus on the main game and concentrate on it avoid losing focus or burning out ,, the game is really good and with some effort and corrections it can be great adding another version / project will ruin things
Hi mate,
Let's discuss this at a coup of coffee.
I said from the beginning that I need to add pieces to this world, otherwise the world-building would be in vain and so would be the story. Each main character is connected to the main plot and therefore we need to witness their evolution (at least for some.) So that is why I made the previous update and that is why I made this one. This are pieces that are meant to fit into the bigger picture. Taken separately, they may be in vain. I am not creating a common story, at least I am not trying to
In my head, the world of Vis is big.
I don't know if it has been observed but even if this update had one-week minus in development, it had more renders than the last five updates (not combined) and not to mention the script. I don't want to create bulk content, just to be on the safe side. I want to create what I see.
Free-roaming is pretty useless now because it requires development effort. In my opinion, many games "grew" on this forum and I think that the idea is to watch them how they do that. I would love nothing more than to deliver all at once but with current resources, I have to plan it.
I knew that I would step into hell's gate the moment I would choose this feature, but I did it anyway because this is what I had in mind. It would have been much easier for me to let the things go as they were, but that wouldn't have been my Vis world.
Why do I invest time in the other version?
Mainly because in the other version I want to create characters or actions that are not normally related to the main plot. If there are people who won't like the idea of having too many side characters and a slightly increased build size, then they have the alternative.
In the end, I want to mention that I like when I read your opinions because it's proof that we are an active community and have in mind that f95 is one of the places where ideas are "shaped".
Cheers,
The sailor from the lost sea.
