MAN THIS GAME IS SO GOOD, I'VE FORGOTTEN ANY OTHER GAME HAS EXISTED.
Waiting for new updates usually makes you remember that, in fact, there are other games out there.

None of them have me looking forward to new updates like this one does, tho.

Agreed. I have other games I love on this site and await updates but this game is bar none. Are there any other Honey Select style games with smooth animations, great dialogue, decent story, and no point and click?

The first Honey Select game I played was House Arrest and it kinda made me put Honey Select games in the backseat. All the models used to look the same in my opinion. After playing something like Where the Heart Is or Acting Lessons or My Sweet Neighbors you can imagine how I'd browse past Honey Select games like Sol Valley and Max's Life and swipe left.

This game along with the Kindred zombie game has smashed my perception to pieces.

Wow, not one for patients are you? Can't finish it AND then write a review....................................................................think on that for a while. I'm such a dick
Well the thing is by that logic no one should review the game on this site as none of them are finished. By having an incomplete work posted I think I should be allowed the same right of review as I go along even if I don't know how the whole story would work out.
I agree the MC is a bit of an antihero. But hopefully we can still choose to not become a villain. That would be awesome to implement a good ending/ bad ending system when everything is complete. All of the evil choices and NTR culminated into one twisted terrible story. Still, I prefer a harem orgy ending complete with the whole town at my feet. Hopefully a news scene (Like the scene of Yuna's drugged up backup dancers) depicting a live h scene cream pie at Honey Bee's.

MAN THIS GAME IS SO GOOD, I'VE FORGOTTEN ANY OTHER GAME HAS EXISTED.
hmmm maybe thats what karma is for *thinking deep thoughts* Well good thing I mostly happen to be increasing my karma with only two or three exceptions.... It means I'm a good person right?right? *proceeds to get smited by the gods*

There're three planned routes depending on your karma.

High karma is the Lover route. Near the end of this route you'll have to pick a girl, since it's confirmed this route won't have an harem ending (here). Class president Motoko will be exclusive to this route.

Middle karma is the Opportunist route. It's confirmed this route will have the possibility to end with an harem. Kayane will be exclusive to this route.

Low karma is the Vengeful route. Shirohime will be exclusive to this route.

Before you go back and replay the whole game to adjust your karma level, know that currently only the high karma route is being developed. After this route will be done it'll be up to middle karma and then low karma.

So by YOUR logic WE should start reviewing a game at it's start when WE have no idea if it gets better until the game stops. Like judging a book by it's cover so to speak right?

There are two arguments to be made here one for and one against

1)Of course you could judge a book by its cover. If you don't that means you have to give every book a equal chance and I don't think that would turn out pretty well especially if one was in a place with a lot of books say a library. Are you going to serious resort to reading every book in the library to find one you like?

2) No you can't judge a book by its cover. To do so would may at times be misleading as covers can be used in a similar manner as clickbait. While I hold to this philosophy you could in fact tell quite a bit from the cover at times. For example if the cover has a nearly nude lady in a suggestive pose I can reasonably assume that it is a book with erotic content of sorts. While this may not entirely encompassing of the book as it maybe a book on the female anatomy more often then not it would be erotic in nature.

However I am not judging by the cover I have read the first 3-4 hours of content, and I would say that is sufficient enough of an intro to make a judgement. Now like reading a book you can generally come up with your general opinion of the after a few hours of reading it. Now there are times where a book gets better at the end and throws a curve ball at you. However this does not excuse the author of his poor writing at the beginning of the book unless it was an intentional stylistic choice that contributes in some way shape or form to the ending. We do not see this here so far unless the developer is trying to pull a groundhogs day or something of that sort on us where we are forced to repeatedly repeat events until we get the right choice. Instead we have awkward loops that sometimes don't make much sense. For example the 2nd arcade scene where I lost to her once but the win lose was still 2-0 which doesn't make sense.

In this game you can already see the problem of its more or less linear progression. For example in the art room it makes a reference to a you breaking a statue while in my play through I warned her so no statue was broken. The problem is the developer is so use to us having only one choice he or she fails to consider the other options as usually said option ends the game. As a result the author is funneled into a linear mindset making it difficult to keep the continuity in his game. This could be alleviated partly by removing unneeded choices so there is less for him to sort through mentally allowing him to keep all the relevant choices and their effects in mind when writing.

How every there are some pros the characters are very diverse and are not carbon cut outs of the same boring character which is definitely a plus in my book. For example we can see that the otaku (I forgot his name) although driven by lust has at least some cunning in him. Although some of these can be chalked up as anime tropes many of the characters although unrealistic in some ways can be seen as exaggerations of certain human aspects which make them relatable in some way shape or form. This helps the writer create a diverse and dynamic cast that plays off of each others quirks quite well. Also we see that not all is as it seems with the MC. Although he at first seems to be a self entitled asshole we see there is more to that then he simply having a stick up his ass. We also catch a glimpse of his humanity to especially in his dealings with Shiniji and Motoko

You're doing the Lords work! Thanks for the info. I play a balanced build(?) main(?)...MC because I can't resist dogpiling Minani (Reporter) through that window for -50. That's mandatory until Dev doesn't punish us or someone makes a Mod that removes it. I hope this doesn't become like DOD where literally two obscure choices mess up your chance of having the "Happy ending" (Harem). I'm already pissed about The Visit's last update as it is.

Not trying to sound like a shill for this game because I haven't paid for it (not yet at least) and also because I HATE shills as they ruin the integrity of a product but the beauty in a forum like this as opposed to other sites is the impunity of ones opinion. You're free to review how you so choose without any toxicity. Til this day I mostly lurk on Anon sites because of all the sh*tposting and ridicule for honest discussion.

I mostly see these games as sitcoms as opposed to movies mainly because of how they update and evolve. Were you to watch TWD Season 1 and give a review after the first two episodes I wager it would appear in your review that you jumped to a conclusion without seeing it through. At the sametime, if you consider these games as a base game with constant DLC and patches then I would specify at what point you felt as though the game went to crap or vice versa.

The "cliffhanger" in Acting Lessons to me was terrible but it was still overall an awesome game. If you read some of the reviews before said "cliffhanger" it was 5 stars but some people afterwards gave it 1 star which to me is a bit harsh. Mass Effect as a series to me is the greatest game of all time despite the original ME3 crap ending. Andromeda on the other hand was a poor ME product and an average game but I only say that having completed the game before the abandoned DLC.

I'm gonna agree on the Mass Effect part here, altho ME3's Ending could have been a lot better without too much additional work, and that's what people were sad and angry about.
I, at least, had a soft spot in my hard for all the characters in the ME Universe after 3 great games and some very emotional moments in the 3rd game. That the very same game just doesn't care about the End for all these characters was pretty perplexing.

I'm not gonna talk about Andromeda here. I haven't even been able to play through it, that's how bad it was.

This is probably why Studio FOW literally called their latest game the ME of porn games. Tons of fans like us. You didn't butt in. That was awesome input.

Out of curiosity what is TWD? I guess the problem with comparing video games with books and tv is that in the former two you give up agency from the get go and you are just in for the ride. There is no mechanics to complain about which was my main point the mechanics in this game just grind me the wrong way.

Also the review function is there for feedback so I might as well use it right?

The point in all this : You're not being fair. Your complaint is like water is being too wet. You never know what the creator is doing next until he/she/they do it, this is way most creators piece a game together these days and others milk it through Patreon. Sad but true. I look at it like this, the creator has a great story but how will be interactive? In a great story you have paths that lead to a bad ending, nothing that effects a storyline greatly. Now with the implementation of the Karma factor there are three outcomes to which will be seen in the future right? Let's face it, there are no giant game companies backing these people up. They are doing as best as they can without third party (independent) help

Yes I recognize the fact they are an independent group that lacks the support of big companies but what I'm complaining about is redundant choices. For example everyday you choose go to school which is completely unnecessary. Also the developer continues to write ever scene as if you took the negative karma route which no matter how you look at it is a flaw. Do not let your opinion cloud your judgement. I think the story so far is pretty good but even then I can see the obvious flaw. (I quoted examples of this you can go backs and look). Also how is my like complaining about water being wet (which is subjected to the definition used by the way)?
