Except this doesn't work logically, this is a reason to be angry at Irphaeus, not the people giving him money. Insulting his patreons is just pointless and puerile rudeness.

It does. If there is a scam it is logical to be angry at scammer and the people who enable scam.
I don't think anyone would be angry if after seven months Irphaeus lost half of his patrons and still earn a reasonable amount of money. But he still makes a tens of thousands of dollars for the update, despite lying multiple of times and producing lower amount of content that he did before.
It's like being rewarded for being an asshole.
I was born in socialist country. Everybody need to wear similar ugly clothes and shoes produced by the state and pay for it. And communist were like: "lol, how dare you to criticise us. If it wasn't for us you wouldn't have any shoes at all. Be grateful you cunt".

People should seriously stop giving him money so he HAS to work and give us an update and the patrons should demand they only have to pay for each update instead of each month. He can even ask the patrons for more money but only if he gives the patrons an update. It is because patrons are still paying him without giving them update that he is doing this 2 updates per year thing. Who the hell does not want to get money for not working. And dont defend him by saying he got writer's block or whatever. It is because you guys are defending him that he is taking money from you without giving you anything in return. Please think for yourself. I was a Patron but i stopped paying him MONTHS ago because if he has a guilty conscience and really has writer's block then he should have stopped the patron payment until he himself gives us an update.

Probably around 15-20% of users of this site is from former soviet bloc, and some of them are above thirty. One of them is Irphaeus. It's not as weird as you think it is.
And it doesn't really matter anyway. Point is: funcional capitalism needs competition and informed consumer. If consumer doesn't change his behaviour when producer fuck up you would end up with the system much worse then socialism in which not only product is inadequate, expensive and late but also profits are privatisied.

It is, I keep slipping up and get my posts deleted. But it just bugs me that people (the Freeboting kind) can't be patient with developers when there are SO MANY great games out there to tide you over. WA is great, no question, but there are others out there that are on par in terms of art and writing.

No, its not because the requirement is based upon intentions not actual production or effort. But imho and the opinion of many others any game without an update in 6mo should be listed as Abandoned. Intentions dont mean shit and buying anything based on intentions is a chumps game ... its deeds that make a difference. For me it's about what a Dev does or doesn't do that matters, fuck intentions.
