Yeah, the MC as a whole is the problem. People are coming in for a porn game where they can love the cute girls. But then you have the MC as the main character from A Clockwork Orange and wonder why people are upset. I thought it was going to be a story about a writer in a cabin desperate for inspiration, and that's how it reads for a while. Then all of a sudden while listening to the radio he starts talking about how much he loves murder. It's off-putting. I want to hug the ghost girl and I'm reading the MC's inner monologue about how he wants to break her neck.The guy murders girls and lives in the woods by himself. It's the story Erkerut wants to tell, I'm here to make sure it gets made correctly and that the game is stable. The game is a horror game, dunno what you think erotic horror means, to me, that means questionable boners. Also, I do not "wonder" why folks do not like the MC, he is DESIGNED to be unlikeable, you not liking a callous, murderer, with no respect for human life is very much the intention.
But hey, you're entitled to your opinion, don't think it is the opinion everyone has though. So calling the MC the problem simply means you won't enjoy our game. That's cool, you'll find a lot of twilight-level horror smut out there you can enjoy.

just to throw my two cents into the ring, i actually really appreciate this game for going with such an unapologetically evil protagonist. it adds a unique depth to the horror that a lot of other erotic horror games (at least, the ones on this site) aren't willing to dive into.
i just appreciate something other than the same old boring good guys. plus i think it fits the vibe of the game better than if the guy was like "ah! a girl walking around my lonely cabin in the middle of nowhere! i have to save her!"

Cheers for being able to separate the narrative from your own worldview. Honestly, the amount of people that feel "tied" to the main character is baffling, reviewing a product or whatever bad because you don't agree with the villain is mind-boggling to me.

It's an opinion I hold as I know many others do. Just as I know there people that would look at the MC of this game and think "finally someone that I can relate with". There's also a world of difference between getting off to, say, a Mal0 animation by cumminham, and getting off to gore porn by gurochanop. But either could fall under "erotic horror."
Yeah I dunno man, just seems kinda silly to have a porn game from the perspective of Patrick Bateman, at least while saying "No you're supposed to hate the MC." It's like making an NTR game and saying you're not supposed to like the NTR. So congrats, I guess?

Though if I made an NTR game, you and others on this site would be like "man why is it this way and not this way". Proving once again that if you don't like a game just understand that you don't like it and throwing around "all of us" is a real stretch.
But talking about this any more with you would be pointless as nothing I would say would convince you otherwise.

an 'unlikable protagonist' is a narrative problem.
There are a lot of movies where the main character is bad, people around hate him. He does terrible, disgusting things. At the same time, he's fun and thrilling to watch.
MC in Wet Nightmares is just a rude asshole. His dialogues are not pleasant to read.

honestly, i'm just here for the sexy scenes, would say i thusly care less about the story, but since this is a VN i'm gonna care very much about the story since i wanna know whats going on.
and to asshole MC's, there are just one or two things i wanna see when i have to deal with them, either other Npc's call the jerk out for what he is. or, and what i prefer much more, let him be the biggest pile of shit the world has ever seen, but in return, when the curtain call comes, and the ending is near, i wanna see them get fucked up by karma, HARD.
bleak stories aren't my style usually, but bleak storys where happy endings are possible and assholes get their shit kicked in? hand over the popcorn!

That is the whole reason the game exists. There isn't really a happy ending on the cards for this man.
I'm gonna count any ending where the sucker gets his comeuppance and shit kicked in a happy ending.

Honestly, I think people are complaining a little too much about the MC (Their choice though). I can understand as most of them I would bet are here for the art, which is top notch imo. But if that's the case either wait for the scenes or move on. I'm not caught up with the latest version but I don't really hate the MC that much. I certainly don't like him but I can understand his views. He paints me as a character that has been wronged quite heavely and thus has a very morbid and cynical world view. If he is a murderer (With a traumatic past) I'm guessing he was designed after any of the serial killers that took to killing due to what they expereinced as kids. I could be way off, so please tell me if I've missed the mark. I won't deny that I was hoping for a redemptioin ending, as having only endings where the bad guy dies or is tortured to death/ for eternity is also a waste imo. But if that's the way it will be I'll enjoy it for what it is. A unique sex story in a sea of smut. Oh and btw, I'd much rather this than NTR, any day of the week.
