In earlier versions the art style had a stable high level, characters in different perspectives remains recognizable, and drawn in the same style. Dialogues were funny, interesting and meaningful. In the content of version 0,7 all of it is gone wasted. Arts, made for the Gomira's update, sometimes have different style, which makes discordance, and just looks crude (like it has been made by another artist). Dialogues in Gomira's story became endless and stupid (- Grrrr! I'll kill that traitor! - Wait! No! We must find another solution! - Grrr! Ok... I will not kill her then...). Characters just discuss the same things again and again, or talk about some meaningless stuff, just to prolong your walkthrough. All the text, written for 0,7 version, can be easily shortened in 3-4 times.Just to clarify, what was wrong with it? I started from 0.7.05 and hadn't played earlier versions.
Not exactly. As for me, when Gomira had appeared in the game for the first time, I liked her. She became my third favorite girl in the game, after Gretta and Goldenbush. I've been waiting for her personal update. But as a result, Gomira's arc is a weak point of the whole game.People disliked the green girl.

That's some good points you are making. I have said it before the release of 0.7 gomira update that they will going to make the dialogues long for order update to be feels long and worth the 2 year waitIn earlier versions the art style had a stable high level, characters in different perspectives remains recognizable, and drawn in the same style. Gotta disagree on art, I think Chestnut was still up to her usual high level. If I have a complaint it's that the mirroring for characters facing left/right in Ren'Py sometimes causes items held in one hand to swap to the other / costumes to swap sides in ways that can break suspension of disbelief, and I have to wonder whether it's really too much effort to just draw a second variant of the pose? idk enough about Ren'Py to say, I guess, so I try not to criticize work when I don't know much about how it's made.In earlier versions the art style had a stable high level, characters in different perspectives remains recognizable, and drawn in the same style. Rose's story was a 10/10 for me, but then I already liked her. My theory had been she was secretly the werewolf that was terrorizing Myrtle's house, but "half demon trapped in debt bondage to a full demon" was a cool plot in the end, and gave the MC a realistic way to win her heart. In many ways Rose is more of a "damsel in distress" even than Myrtle was, and I love how the resolution of her story gives her room to be both strong (flying Lassie around, looks scary in demon mode) but also soft and vulnerable (when they relax together in bed). I would love it if future main story plots allow more locations to fly to with Rose! I want to sing "Whole New World" from Aladdin every time I hitch a ride on her lolStrongly disagree with her story being the weakest part of the game. I thought that was Roses by far. I didn't have any problems with Gomira story at all other than there were less funny thinking moments.
Again disputing that the art fell off, but I agree that Gomira's story often felt long winded and meandering. I enjoyed the "barbarian skeleton boss with dumb clownish retainers" villain arc but it was strange that we then had a second arc with Mei and the Dragon which felt very disconnected from the Skeleton Island stuff. There was overall way too much time spent on Skeleton Shenanigans and way too little time on "MC goes through trials of strength to win Gomira's affections". I wonder less about padding dialogue and more whether the Mei/Dragon storyline was originally planned for a later update and got "moved forward" to quell discontent over update size after the long delay. It feels so disconnected from anything else in the Gomira arc is all. That said, the Mei/Dragon stuff was BY FAR my favorite part of Gomira's update - I just wish that the MC/Gomira romance wasn't already more or less a sealed deal before then. I would have rather the Mei/Dragon arc be upfront and that's how MC proves his worthiness, then he and Gomira have the victory fuck, THEN we have a second adventure with wacky skeletons AFTER she is already an official love interest. That's some good points you are making. I have said it before the release of 0.7 gomira update that they will going to make the dialogues long for order update to be feels long and worth the 2 year waitFor the reason why art style feels different is because they most likely rush the damn thing.

Sadly, she's not. And, as I said before, 0,7 version became the first one, where the characters style became to vary in different cases. Just look at Gomira's previous arts:Gotta disagree on art, I think Chestnut was still up to her usual high level.
Oh, your post helped me catch something about this game's art that I couldn't put my finger on until now.Sadly, she's not. And, as I said before, 0,7 version became the first one, where the characters style became to vary in different cases. Just look at Gomira's previous arts:
Three different scenes, three different angles, but in all of them Gomira's drawn with the same appearance, and still recognizable. You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
And now look at one of her arts in 0,7 version:
Her face here looks much younger, smaller and softer, then it was before. Here she looks like some goblin, not an orc.You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
And if it's not assure you, look at Rose then. That's how she was drawn in previous versions:
And that's how she was drawn on the new art in 0,7:You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
"Usual high level", you say? I have to disagree. You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
These all look very much the same with less harsh lines. Images seem cherry picked at bestSadly, she's not. And, as I said before, 0,7 version became the first one, where the characters style became to vary in different cases. Just look at Gomira's previous arts:

Oh, I'm not saying the skeletons part mattered or was anything more than broad comedy. But it's like 3/4 of the entire playtime of the update so if the skeletons bit was the padding, then that means almost nothing was ready before they started rushing to pad it out and I have a hard time believing it was that extreme. Like I said earlier, my theory about the quality and tone shift is the Mei stuff was already planned out and maybe even partially storyboarded for a later chapter, and when people started yelling at them, they looked at what they had ready (a half finished, extremely long and rambling Skeletons quest irrelevant to sex scenes or larger plot), and decided to wrap that up (maybe earlier than originally intended) and push the Mei stuff forward to give the update a good total length without needing as much lead time for planning. It doesn't make sense the other way around bc the Skeletons storyline involves a lot more original arts than the Mei storyline which is, what, four new characters and two locations? (Mei, her son, and dragon in both forms) vs like a half dozen skeleton characters and a half dozen locations. If you were padding out an update you were running late on, why would the padding part be higher effort than the original material?I'm honestly not really sure what to say here. I disagree first of all that it was long winded and meandering but I mostly disagree that the skeleton bit mattered at all aside from comedy. The warm town dragon bit seemed like it was the main part that was actually connected to Gomira in their story while the Skeleton bit was mostly just a humorous obstacle that was in our way. The warm town part with the dragon actually tied into Gomira and Mei's backstory as well as establishing some decent amount of lore about the setting. It's weird you're saying that the dragon bit of all thngs seemed padded on because if anything I'd say that was the boner island part. I enjoyed both parts though
Ok first thing, Gomira doesn't look any different between her updates. And I don't get the insistence that she does.Oh, I'm not saying the skeletons part mattered or was anything more than broad comedy. The Gomira art change is visible but I don't read that as "secret backup artist". For one thing why wouldn't they credit that person / why haven't they come forward about not being credited for their work? For another it still looks very much like Chestnut's art. I think they just retconned Gomira's appearance for some reason. Maybe her original look didn't work as well for how they wanted to draw her going forward. Or maybe they felt she was "the ugly LI" and wanted to give her a "makeover"?

You are mostly right. It's also worth mentioning that, despite being the shortest quest, Boner Island was actually the part that took most of the abnormally long polishing phase. Reading between lines of dev reports, that's the first part they worked on, right after their baby was born, and it was the most affected, quality-wise, by this stressful situation. This forced them to totally change some scenes, adding others like the chibi one, and also led to some heavy text-editing and posing rework. As a consequence, they couldn't implement some other things they wanted to add to the dragon quest, such as a second Percy's song or more barman duties for the MC at the inn, with other characters asking for their favourite drinks.Ok first thing, Gomira doesn't look any different between her updates. And I don't get the insistence that she does.
Second I think you kind of overestimated how long mc stays on boner island vs warm town. He's not on boner island any longer. It's just a really long update and it's the one where the mc moves around the most were as the others are stationary, so the part on boner island seemed more noticable. But there is only one scene on Boner island vs the three scenes in warm town. Cutscene wise in the gallery there are only around 13 scenes on Boner island but 23 at warm town. The part with the dragon was the longest portion of the update and looking through all the cutscenes and everything Boner island is actually the shortest section of the update. I kind of feeling like your saying the Mei stuff was added on, only because it introduced a new girl, but again like I said eariiler her section of the update was far more involved in Gomira's past than the skeleton part which didn't have anything to do with her and was just kind of a detour View attachment 4933407 View attachment 4933420
