Not only am I fine with it, it is not deceptive, malicious or otherwise an intentionally broken promise to his patrons (which I am not, so Ocean doesn't need to keep a single promise to me about about words to his patrons).

Patreons support a product's development, not it's timeline. If Ocean unds up expanding the time line (and it's communicated) the patrons make their decision if they want to continue supporting the extended effort. No one calls adding stretch goals as a problem to a kickstarter (for example).

The problem is mostly the self entitled non-patrons thinking they have rights to the game, and they attempt to blackmail the dev by white-anting.

Either the update happens or it doesn't, my life won't fall apart if it's later than said. I missed all my work deadlines this year because of life circumstances and my clients had respect and concern for me. Real people aren't asshats over deadlines.
Well, I can't agree with you with all points you made. If I get the feeling that a dev is fooling me, or delays the updates with to many "coincidences", I will withdraw my pledge without a second thought. Ocean was always transparent about his delays ore the reasoning behind from the beginning, but despite the delays - and yes, i'm just as disappointed about the delays as everyone else here - Ocean has always delivered.

Of course - if someone is intentionally delaying a product because they are lazy or just stretching to maximise their revenue for the least amount of work, they don't deserve support. Anyone can also decide that the pace of development is too long for them to endure supporting. I'm flagging the common that all delays are milking (which was not in your post); Ocean adds considerable extra value for the wait he makes his patrons enduren as you mentioned. His work ethic doesn't seem questionable to me, just maybe some of his choices.

I was more agreeing with your point that Ocean is usually late because he tries to over deliver on quality - that habit of his doesn't cause me to lose sleep at night.

Is today the day ? Let's hope.
It would be nice but won't bother me either way, it's unlikely to be the full chapter and I don't waste my time with beta's, knowing how Ocean works, if it is only a beta, there will be a number of changes for the final chapter release. That's when I'll dive in.

Unless we're already in Orwell's "1984" with the Thought Police
You would be surprised how close we are to Orwels masterpiece when you open the eyes. More and more censorship of "not official sources", massive efforts from gouverments are done to get rid of cash, and get simultanious digital currencys running and under controll, restricting traveling and binding to to a QR code/poison jab because of a ridiculous flu blown up to a pandemic, a cursade against individual traveling in the name of the alleged climate change.

Sounds lovely right, for every point I have said I could name example alone from the EU, and don'T even talk about China.

Considering in the beginning of this dev cycle Ocean said WIAB update will come out faster than ch 2, i won't hold my breath for faster releases ever.
He is the type of dev who facing the release faster VS make updates bigger and "better" question, will always pick the latter. Always.
Maybe He's indirectly implying that this is the fastest he can do

I also thought that Ocean was fighting for quality, but SG 5 convinced me otherwise. Many dark pictures appeared where it is very difficult to see what is drawn there. Perhaps this was a failed experiment by Ocean with graphics. I hope this won't happen here.

I'm not quite sure what are you exactly talking about, because I have not encountered renders that would fits into the category " it is very difficult to see what is drawn there " No offence meant, but, can it be that your graphic settings are wierd, or you playing a screwed up comperssed version?

Or it is simply the time of the day where the scenes are playing, most of the scenes are in the evening and or even inside with a dimmed lighting.

Go to the SG forum, they have already written about this several times and compared pictures. There is even a comparison of old pictures that Ocean replaced after the rework with new, darker ones. At the same time, it is unclear why he did this, because the old ones look better than the new ones.

Post some examples of old renders that look better than the new ones.
