Not only am I fine with it, it is not deceptive, malicious or otherwise an intentionally broken promise to his patrons (which I am not, so Ocean doesn't need to keep a single promise to me about about words to his patrons).
Patreons support a product's development, not it's timeline. If Ocean unds up expanding the time line (and it's communicated) the patrons make their decision if they want to continue supporting the extended effort. No one calls adding stretch goals as a problem to a kickstarter (for example).
The problem is mostly the self entitled non-patrons thinking they have rights to the game, and they attempt to blackmail the dev by white-anting.
Either the update happens or it doesn't, my life won't fall apart if it's later than said. I missed all my work deadlines this year because of life circumstances and my clients had respect and concern for me. Real people aren't asshats over deadlines.
