Yeah, it feels like pages of the script were lost and ultimately no renders were created for them. It's so bizarre. Like I can't even say it's bad, it's just..... not thereIt's utterly incoherent narratively speaking. The whole initial set up scenario for the game was a fairly ordinary guy from a fairly ordinary lower middle/middle class family getting the hell out Dodge due to the "complicated" relationship he had with both his sisters, but returning due to his mother's "accident". That "accident" being the consequences of the criminal activities of a ne'er-do-well uncle was also a good set-up.
From that we went to everyone being either involved in or okay with criminal/gangland or skeevy activity, with absolutely no set up.You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
I honestly had to double check whether there was multiple writers for Oceanlab's games because compared to Summer's Gone (which also has plot/writing issues), or even the original version of this, the ridiculous tonal shifts and cringy dialogue here seem like the work of an edgy teenager.
except, given what we now know about the whole family, Occam's razor dictates that's exactly why the "accident" happened which makes the earlier talk of it being Dylan related seem a bit bizarre given there's been precisely zero evidence to suggest anything of the sort. There is however a fuckton of evidence the accident was due to what Leia is now doing. And given everyone's been so eager to explain the situation to the MC, why even bullshit him wit the idea it was Dylan at all? There never was any implication that the accident was caused by the activities of the uncle. If fact Leia suspected it was related to Dylan, not uncle Joe, not to mention that Leia is for all intends and purposes the successor of Joe and the one responsible for expanding it significantly.
