And following up on the question, yes, Katie being LI or Lewdable in SG would be a tremendous mistake for WIAB fans, and would be the height of contempt for this game.

Socro already dropped The Word of God so is a bit pointless to answer, that said, I will do it anyway. I would not have a problem with it, nor do I think would lesser WiaB. Katie is in a open relationship and William can be in one as well, I don't see why it would be a problem for Nika to fuck her.
My problem is why ? Seems like the most cheap of fan services. SG already has a huge cast, we can't be sure who is or is not a LI. I don't see value in adding Katie to it.

I never downloaded the full, but there was a little flashback scene between Leia and William. Just a couple of renders.
I'll say this, the problem isn't limited to AVN's. Hollywood, gaming and entertainment as a whole are completely incompetent in this regard, too. They want to believe they are better than everyone else, which is why they refuse to adopt a basic system that is widely used across hundreds of industries with only minor alterations and has been in widespread use for well over a century at this point.
At the very least, DPC should see the chick behind Zero End and seriously reconsider some of the positions he's taken about keeping BAD a solo project.
Even Ocean should be looking over his shoulder at a guy like the one behind Etlina's Principle. Personally, I can't imagine a world where I watch someone like PipRoad pop up and I'm not instantly in the dudes DM's working together to find ways to make both of our lives easier. Ocean might be the best visual artist in the space, yet PipRoad has very quickly thrust himself into the argument by deciding to come out doing something very similar visually. Just on Nightmare Mode.
Even if they lack the know how to integrate general production procedures, guys like this have the resources to outsource or hire people who work directly under them. Ocean has done so with other, less skilled artists in the past. PipRoad seems very happy and secure in his day job, but it's a discussion I'd very much want to have if I were Ocean.
You disagreed that the premise is purely to scratch the incest itch, with several aforementioned examples of how ONLY family can have something approaching familiar bonds. I gave several examples of the opposite, as well as personal experience of how such bonds can just as easily be utterly destroyed in a single act within a family. Something... someone pointed out was an issue with how William responded to being blackmailed by Katie, which currently is not canon in this version of the story. At least yet.
You HAVE to have your incest. It's that simple, and I'd not have an issue with it if you were just being honest about it. It's a kink in porn, own it and move on. This is an anonymous forum, you have nothing to lose by saying "I find it hawt" and moving on. I mean, there's an entire massive movie franchise where familiar-like bonds among friends is the only thing that grounds the movies absolutely insane action sequences. Repeatedly, those bonds end up being stronger than those formed by blood. So you can't justify your argument in any fictional space, let alone real world one.
All the arguments about incest, though, are pointless as Ocean came to the conclusion that to save himself any continued frustration he's going to cut it. That's it. Argument over. Too much of the story has already been changed to reverse course now. And that could completely be what has demotivated him from working on this game, but it doesn't matter. No other developer jumps through the hoops that Ocean did to bypass the incest stuff. Hell, a lot of these games let you make characters who have no business being your sibling, be your sibling.
If you really want it that bad, it isn't illegal everywhere. You go do you. Just stop pretending fictional characters have to be siblings because friends can't be that close. They can. They are. And in both fiction and irl.
