For such quality, yes, it requires that much time. Specially rendering stuff. I don't know about all the process of creating a game, but yeah.. Just look at every other game similar to this one (quality speaking) and you'll see it's pretty much the same time to have an update. That and you already mentioned about Ocean making another game simultaneously.

About doing another game simultaneously, he wasnt saying like, 2 years and some months ago he bought another super good PC so while SG was rendering he would work on WIAB, and vice versa, so both games would be developed a lot faster? At that time, update was coming in less than a year, now almost 1 year and a half.

Really, I got study psychologically Ocean interaction with people on this forum, so I can learn how to make a VERY good looking report for my boss, with a amazing color patern, once per year-year and a half, and get me the rest of the year without having to work, and still having my boss and clients to love me.

People spend more time here licking dev boots than playing the content the dev makes (because he barely does it), and still they love it and defend him. This must be some psychologica syndrome, there's really no explanation.

It says on Steam that episode 4 will contain 4000 pictures.

So the same as a always, reading everything, 20 to 25 minutes of content. But consider on the last 2 years and ~9 months, this game got 2 updates like that, with 1 fingering and 1 boob sucking scene, also a fingering sharing scene.

So dont expect more than 2 preliminaries scenes (fingering, boob sucking or pussy licking) in a 20-25min gameplay reading it all, with no real sex. After, wait more 1 year and ~3months for more 20-25minutes of content without real sex again.

If you're lucky, the sex scenes (in an AVN) must come in around 6-7 years, by the pace dev barely advance the story. This game, despite all of this BS, is the EXTREME opposite of those dumb NTR games, with a sex scene in each 30 seconds, so you better be up to wait for YEARS for sex scenes, while reading lots of childish dialogue full of BIBI and BUBU from characters talking like they're 9 years old (instead of 20s) for years before anything happens.

What Ocean had going for him in the past was that his games had pretty much the best renders in this space, but at this point many other devs have cought up and even surpased him in many ways, so at this point its no longer all about quality, its about him keep changing his mind on what to write and put in, i feel like he doesn't have a clear direction, if he ever had one. That said, i still enjoy his games and personally don't mind waiting. Some of my favorite VN's take 1-2+ years to get an update. But at least its enough there to warrant that additional time, here i guess we will see how much we get, when we get it

Unless if you are a German tax collector you're not going to make him optimize his schedule so just chill and play the other high quality render games in the in-between.

Desert Stalker... It's quite the beacon of professionalism here, but maybe they have more resurces and envolvment than the average dev here. I personally don't know. As i mentioned before, this project quality is very very high and the team is developing 2 games at once, which was, indeed, a bold move.

Still a team. My team where i work (IRL) is currently 2 persons and we lift the weight of what used to be a signifantly larger team for a several tousands of emploees strong company. But as i said, i don't know the background. Desert Stalker's dev might be a very dedicated person with adeguated hardware who chosed this as his main activity in life while other devs might do this as a side gig or just a hobby. They both are respectable approachs.

What i mean to say is the release time for a project like WIAB is long but not disproportionated.

I'm usually more incline to complain when a 4months/release project drops to 6 month, then 8-10 months, then a year if you are lucky and there is no real improvement in the quality of the game from the start (while it's expected for releases to take longer as the story forks in different directions). In that case i usually call out a decline in motivation/interest (that can happen when a project drags for years, life changes and it's nothing to be ashamed of) or a general laziness in turning a former hobby/passion project in a mere passive income, since the Patreon model doesn't link in any way the income to any tangible result. As long as ppl is willing to support you, you may even deliver nothing at all.

And for the critics to come, i'm not referring to WIAB or any specific project, mine is just a general consideration.

Since then, he has mainly focused on other activities such as image post-processing, animation, coding, and of course, reworking some renders. He remade 120 renders.
